Chapter 16 - Intruder

Langelang flapped his wings, he didn't need a magical vehicle or anything like that, because he could fly himself, and he even had a speed that was much faster than the other flying creatures in the enire Aeros.

As he crossed the eastern part of Aeros, right on the border between the area ruled by darkness and the area ruled by light. Langelang saw the Dark Knight, who was still searching for traces of the boy who was believed to be the heir of the Star Archer Knight, and he had to bring him before Leburo. Behind the Dark Knight, Ratgottus and some of his men followed, watching the knight in black armor with carefully and silently.

"The Dark Knight is still confused, I should not help him and keep my mission a secret. Lord Leburo's hunch seems to be right, the boy must be in the residence of the Great Oracle. I must confirm this and report to Lord Leburo immediately. I will let the Dark Knight fail in his duty. Let me alone get the credit from Mr. Leburo!" muttered Langelang as he accelerated his flight, leaving Dark Knight and Ratgottus down there.

After flying for a several time, Langelang finally arrived near the floating island where the Glass Palace, the residence of the Great Oracle, was located. He swooped toward the floating island, but...

'Bughk!' Langelang slammed into something invisible.

"What is that? An invisible protector?" Langelang said to himself, feeling dizzy from hitting the invisible protector, was left floating.

Langelang cast a spell to unleash his special power, his eyes sparkled for a moment, and he could now clearly see the invisible dome that surrounded the entire floating island like a large egg made of transparent glass.

"This must be a spell used by the Great Oracle. What a powerful magic, she could maintain a spell of this magnitude for such a long time. But I'm sure that no matter how powerful a spell is, there are bound to be loopholes and weaknesses!" said Langelang.

With that in mind, Langelang flew around the invisible dome, which now looked like a large transparent glass egg in his special vision. He examined every inch of the protective dome and then discovered a small gap that lay like a link between the beginning and the end of the spell.

Langelang then tried to pierce the rift, but his first attempt failed because even though the rift was small, it was still a fairly powerful spell. Langelang then cast another spell, this time his claw-like hands grew larger and sharper.

With the claws he had cast the spell on, Langelang tried to rip open the crack in the invisible protective dome. Again and again, Langelang tore at the small slit in the invisible dome. It took him nearly an hour before he was finally able to pass through with his body. Then he immediately slipped into the inner area of the floating island.

Meanwhile, in the Glass Palace, the Great Oracle learned that an intruder had managed to break the seal of the invisible dome spell she had cast for hundreds of years. In all that time, no one had ever managed to damage or even infiltrate her floating island.

The Great Oracle looked at Kaytrin, who happened to be nearby.

"Kaytrin, may I ask a favor of you?" the Great Oracle said.

Kaytrin nodded, "Of course. What can I do for you?"

"Please look up on the hill to the north, I think an intruder has managed to get in by breaking the magic seal of the floating island's transparent protective dome. Wait, he seems to be moving very fast and will probably reach the top of this glass palace in a few moments," the Great Oracle explained.

Kaytrin was surprised to hear the Great Oracle's assignment, for she knew that the protective dome spell created by the Great Oracle was a very powerful spell that could not be tampered with by anyone.

"Is he a very powerful and dangerous person?" asked Kaytrin.

The Great Oracle shook her head and smiled faintly.

"No, the intruder is not that strong, but he has a unique power that allows him to break the seal of the transparent protective dome. Bring some other guards to deal with him!"

"Done!" nodded Kaytrin, who immediately went out and ordered several glass palace guards to come with her.

Kaytrin called to her great goose, which immediately flew to its master. She then flew off with several Glass Palace guards to intercept the intruder. The Glass Palace guards used their respective riding animals, which were strange creatures with wings or other flying abilities.

"Friks, let's see how Kaytrin and the guards of the Glass Palace deal with the intruder!" Ramala the Great Oracle asked Friks.

Friks nodded, "Yeah, I'm curious too."

The Great Oracle then took Friks to the top of one of the tallest towers in the Glass Palace. She deliberately invited Friks to climb to the balcony of the tower so that the intruder could see the whereabouts of the new Star Archer and report to his master.

Right, Ramala had predicted that the intruder would be Leburo's men. By deliberately revealing Friks' whereabouts to the intruder, Ramala was bluffing Leburo. The Dark Lord's greatest rival was already present and in Aeros, in the Great Oracle's glass palace.

Out there, in the sky above the Glass Palace, Kaytrin and a few guards had already intercepted Langelang, who had arrived and was surprised to have been spotted.

"Surrender and we'll let you live!" Kaytrin ordered.

Langelang shook his head, "I will not surrender to you. You're just lowly knights. I'm not sure you can stand up to me!"

"Insolent! You underestimate me! Take this! Balseuneu!" shouted Kaytrin, releasing a ball of fiery energy at Langelang.

Langelang was shocked, not thinking that Kaytrin could use a spell to release a ball of fiery energy at him.

'Whooos...!' Kaytrin's fiery ball quickly shot toward Langelang.

Langelang dodged the fiery ball and flapped his wings as he cast a spell. Dozens of feathers from his wings flew towards Kaytrin and the Glass Palace guards, the feathers from Langelang's wings turned to iron leaf in the air and struck four Glass Palace guards. The four guards fell instantly.

Unlike the glass palace guards, Kaytrin quickly drew her main weapon. A staff with a large curved scythe, she used the blade of the scythe to hold Langelang's dozen feathers, which became like sheets of iron with ease.

Langelang immediately realized the difference in strength between himself and Kaytrin. So he immediately fled, flying down to the Great Seer's glass palace. After all, he had to complete his mission or Leburo would give him a very severe punishment.

On the balcony of the tower, Langelang saw the Great Oracle and beside her a boy he didn't recognize. But in the boy's left hand was a starbow, so Langelang immediately concluded that the boy was the next Star Archer. He immediately recorded what he saw with his eyes. Another advantage of Langelang's was that his eyes could record images that could be given to others with a magic spell.

Up there, Kaytrin prepared for her attack once again.

"Taste this!" yelled Kaytrin as she leapt bravely from the top of her riding swan. She swung her great scythe at Langelang, who was directly floating below her.

'Brughk!' Kaytrin's great scythe strike successfully struck Langelang's back.

Leburo's men screamed as he felt a great pain in his back.

Kaytrin snatched her great scythe from Langelang's back and leapt to her feet, her great swan mount immediately charging at her master's body.

Langelang decided to run away and return to Leburo, for his task was done, and if he faced Kaytrin any longer, he would lose and the Great Oracle would likely intervene to finish him off.

Langelang flapped his wings, ignoring the pain and his bleeding back. He flew toward the crack in the protective dome he had broken earlier and was about to return to Leburo Castle in the dark part of Aeros. The place where he and all the evil elements lived.
