As Denard went into the mine the other reinforcements followed his orders and joined the battle. Seeing an Engineer battle truly was something spectacular to watch. They did not fight in hand-to-hand combat or use weapons. Instead, they used their 'Mana Circuits'.
Let's say that an Engineer had an affinity for fire. Then all of the 'Mana Circuits' that they built for attack and defense would unleash their affinity. Engineer was just their profession, they still had affinities just like all other rankers did and if they were not making the standard 'Mana Circuits' such as light or soundproof circuits then their circuits would have whatever their affinity was.
So, as you could imagine, if an Engineer happened to have a unique affinity, it would make their offensive and defensive 'Mana Circuits' even more valuable than those that had one of the main 4 affinities.
