After killing Chance, Havok performed a number of experiments with his knives on his corpse. However, he knew that what he found with one body was not enough of a sample size. He spent the better part of the 3 months in the forest killing both beasts and humans alike. Every couple of days he checked in with Grant and Leona to let them know that he was okay.
Other than their check-ins all of his focus was on training. It was invigorating to be out in the forest fiending for himself like he did when he was younger. Although living in the city certainly had its perks, he grew up living off the land only eating what he killed, fighting all out for his survival.
