It was the metal that the guard was made of that drew his attention along with the precise design that drew his attention to this weapon while he was grabbing the gold. It was metal that he was unfamiliar with, but it was emanating just the tiniest mana fluctuations that indicated that it was a blue core ranked weapon, so he knew that it was definitely something good.
