While Havok was making his way towards the battlefield, the humans were not the only ones that moved out. There were several beasts that were lurking waiting for an opportunity to strike. The only reason that they waited this long was because they wanted to wait for the humans to drain their mana cores. Which would make killing them much easier. Also, if they jumped into a battle between a human and beast there was a good chance that they would just team up and try to kill the one that interrupted them.
The Fox and Lemur were among those beasts that were waiting to reap the benefits of other beasts wearing down the humans.
Just like how beasts that were stronger or had unique affinities tasted better to humans, it was the same thing for the beasts. Getting to eat a blue core human's body that had been nurtured with mana and then devouring their core had several of the lurking blue core beasts' mouths watering in anticipation.
