"You're welcome. Always remember the magical secrets I told you about, and try to be inquisitive in your daily life."
The girl nodded. She noticed her mother in the doorway and came towards her happily. She talked about how sir cultivator helped end her problems once and for all. Meanwhile, her mother was glad that a cultivator taught her daughter about something profound. Even though she had not been tested yet, whatever sir cultivator taught her daughter could be used in any situation she found herself in.
The sword dancer just stood there. She actually understood the significance of what the man had said. It was a truth of the world that would elude even the most learned, yet he casually bestowed it to a mortal child. She was stoked. As an immortal, she had learned the truths of the world. Either by scripture or sudden enlightenment. She never would've thought that a bigshot was hiding under the nose of her sect, posing as an outer disciple. As the sect leader's daughter, she must get to the bottom of this. That's why she asked for a day's leave from the innkeeper in order to return to the sect and ask elder Mi about what was happening in the last few days. In order not to disturb the big shot, she chose the silent approach. If the bigshot doesn't want to reveal himself then he must not be revealed by any means.
I observed the sword dancer and the innkeeper do their things. I kept having the feeling that there was a big misunderstanding somewhere that I can't exactly pinpoint where. That's why I chose the safest option here. To act as if nothing ever happened. I bantered with the innkeeper after she finished her talk with the sword dancer. I told her that I could give out some advice on cleaning which she happily tried out. By the time her daughter finished making the inn's breakfast, my total PP count reached 27. I sat near the window alone when it was time for breakfast to be served. The other guests had just awakened and all of them had a groggy look on their faces save for the fighter who was apparently already up and about even before I woke up. He ran around town since it was his routine, that's why I never saw him.
[You farmed the hell out of her, huh?]
'I did. Now grab me that Y.E.E.T.'
[One Y.E.E.T. coming up!]
A mechanical voice resounded in my mind. It was from the modification chamber that acted as armour under my robes right now. It gave me a confirmation that the Y.E.E.T. module had been successfully generated and activated. By willing it to appear, the Y.E.E.T. that had a default form of a gun would appear on my dominant hand. Its usage includes extracting various elements and materials from my target by using an extraction beam capable of molecular extraction, scanning my surroundings to find all sorts of things, terrain manipulation, and it also doubled as a weapon. The Y.E.E.T. itself could be modified to suit my needs. All of its features could be upgraded and changed. For example, I could add a weapon module for it. The extractor will purely be used for extracting materials since there were many types of weapon modules available on the market, such as an assault rifle type or a shotgun type. But right now I don't have any materials yet to create modifications my Y.E.E.T. That's why I'll leave it alone in its default settings.
'So how can I create that dungeon? I'm already itching to create one.'
[You generally need 400 units of Ferrite, a fuel cell, a power source, and 100 units of Spatium, in order to create a portable spatial device. Ferrite could be found in every geological material. Meanwhile Spatium could be slowly extracted everywhere, unless you find yourself in an area with more gravity where it was in abundance. After all it was a byproduct of the bending of space itself. The fuel cell needs 50 units of Ferrite and 25 units of Sodium. While the power source needs 50 units of Ferrite, 25 units of Deuterium, and 25 units of Tritium. Both Deuterium and Tritium can be created using Hydrogen that could be extracted from water or air.]
'Isn't that a bit much?'
[From a fist sized stone, you might get around 20 to 30 units of Ferrite. Don't get me started on Hydrogen and Sodium. There are loads of them out there. You can find around 5 to 15 units of Sodium from a fistful of dirt. You can get around 100 or more units of Hydrogen just by extracting it from the air for around 10 seconds. Generally, you'll get around 10 units of Spatium per hour by using the Y.E.E.T.'s auto-extraction since you won't be able to know where to extract it. Do you see how easy it is?]
'Right. I'll start gathering them right now.'
I stood up from my chair and went out of the inn after I ate the breakfast provided. The pan-fried fish and noodle was really tasty. Even without my advice, I think the innkeeper's daughter would be able to create such a tasty dish if she toughed herself out. But since she doesn't have to do something like that anymore, the dish became even more perfect.
Walking until I arrived at the outskirts of the town where there was no one to be found, I summoned the Y.E.E.T. With that thing in hand, I started extracting as if possessed. It was enjoyable to say the least. The feeling of seeing the numbers going up really soothes my soul. I extracted trees, rocks, dirt, and all kinds of stuff with a big smile on my face. Everything turned into their basic elements when I pointed my Y.E.E.T. at them. Oh, how lovely.
[You looked like a deranged maniac you know? And it was such a boring job too.]
"Well, it might look boring from the outside. At least until you feel the numbers started going up. How about you try it yourself? I'll give you the permission."
[Hmmm, I doubt it will be fun. But since you insisted, I'll give it a try.]
The system took control of the Y.E.E.T. and extracted the surroundings. It was faster than when I was the one in control. If I could get it addicted to farming materials, I'll be set for life.
"What do you think?"
[I don't feel anything remotely enjoyable.]
"Now, now. You're doing this in the methodical way. That's not the way to have fun. You should let loose and just extract. Though be mindful of the surroundings since we don't want casualties."
It took the bait and extracted like mad. I could feel the way it extracted the surroundings becoming more and more rowdy by the minute.
[You're actually right! It is fun. I have this feeling that I could extract the entire world and create myself a fully functioning space fleet! Although I don't even have the permission to create something like that myself.]
It was far more effective than I thought. My surroundings were getting more and more barren by the second.
"Uhh, the numbers are dangerously high right now, I think you better stop yourself and start thinking about how to save the environment?"
[AD8@R21$../ /##4@%!]
Fuck. It started sending in garbled messages. I tried my best to stop it with a soft approach, which unfortunately failed. That's why I had to edit the usage access to the Y.E.E.T. which stopped it immediately. I then stored the Y.E.E.T. in the modification chamber's storage module.
"You okay, bro?"
[W-What just happened? I felt like there's a great darkness stored within my CPU.]
"Fuck off. Stop with the acting."
[Why did you think I was acting?]
"The text on this prompt window suddenly changed font into something dark and goth. Stop with this kind of shit or I won't talk to you again."
[You're the one that tried to trick me! I'll take matters into my own hands if possible, but since I am your system, I gotta work with what I got.]
"Fine. Truce? I won't do things like that again."
[Okay. I'm sorry for that.]
"Same here."
With our truce and storage full of materials, we were going back to the inn since the caravan would most likely be departing soon. However, we can't just leave this empty plot of barren land. That's why the system coached me on how to create an ecosphere generator. It's a piece of technology that will create a livable ecological environment based on its surrounding materials.
[Take 10 units of Ferrite, 5 units of Carbon, and one drop of your blood.]
"My blood? What do you need my blood for?"
[This is a technology the Elves of planet XXIgW-123 perfected. They used blood for medium and identification purposes.]
"Okay, what's next."
[Since this is an already known piece of technology, and you're not trying to create one yourself, search the modification chamber under the term EcoGen. Don't pick the EcoBomb though. That one is a dangerous weapon.]
I searched for the term EcoGen, and let the modification chamber do its work. It finished almost instantly. I don't even have the time to blink. This advanced piece of tech was truly astounding.
[Good. Now you should be able to feel a connection with the EcoGen. Throw it somewhere and let it do its work. Take control of it if you felt that it was being excessive.]
"What for?"
[Remember the EcoBomb? That one predates this one. You should be able to find the connection from that.]
"Fuck."
Thankfully, with the help of the system and the inhibitor inside the EcoGen, we managed to avoid a global catastrophe created by a small piece of genetically modified carbon-based life form. The barren plot of land where we extracted all its materials now houses a field of flowers inside a grove of trees which shall help the town greatly as a tourist attraction. It will remain green and bountiful even under the coldest winter and the harshest drought. I won't make excuses since the problems came from me and the system fucking around, but it does look good.
We returned to the inn after taking care of the problem we caused. The caravan head was already waiting for us.
"Sir Cho! We are still preparing for our journey today. It will take around 15 more minutes for the preparation to finish." The fighter informed me.
"Thanks for the heads up young Lin, let me help you out."
"Thank you very much, sir!"
I helped with the caravan's preparation for departure.
We were ready to leave.
