"Loyal, just wanted to remind you about your appearance at Summer Sky's show tonight," said Aaron, Loyal's trusted person assistant.
" Can we cancel that?" Loyal asked.
He regretted going on a date with her. Somehow the paparazzi caught when of their date and it went down hill from. Loyal had always been lowkey and didn't understand how they found out. It didn't make sense to him. His label thought it would be great if two of their artists were dating and give them great publicity.
Though, at first Loyal was cool with dating Summer Sky until her found her cheating on him with her manager, Roland. He wanted to break shit off right away, but got shut down by the label. Because they felt it wouldn't be a good look for Chicago's best rapper Loyal to be cheated on by an upcoming R&B artist. He'd be lying if he said that he wasn't embarrassed by that. So he just kept up with their appearance of them dating.
Luckily, he contract was up in a few months and he had no plans on resigning. He figured he'd take his chances going independent. Plus he already owned his masters so he was good.
" Now, how is gonna look that Summer Sky had a show in her "boyfriend's" home town and he's not there to show his support?" Aaron asked sarcastically. He knew Loyal was over this fake relationship, but he could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Plus he worked hard to keep Loyal's imagine as good as Loyal was in real life. It's easy to paint a rapper as the asshole. So Aaron couldn't have that. Not only was he Loyal's personal assistant, he was his childhood best friend. So he only wishes the best for him and he was more than grateful Loyal brought him along for the journey.
"Loyal, I get it. But we gotta think about the end game. Once you go independent, you can say you drifted apart and y'all had a peaceful break up. All I'm asking is that you make an appearance. You don't even have to talk to her." Arron pleaded.
" Just an appearance?"
"Yes, just show up and let a couple reporters take a picture of you being there."
"Where's it at?"
" SoHo House."
"Cool, book me a room there. I might as well enjoy myself while. Wanna have a drink on the rooftop afterwards?"
"Of course. When have I ever turned down a drink? And I'll book that room now. Also you should show up around 9pm, because that's when she should be going on stage." Aaron replied happily.
Loyal laughed and shook his head. He was lowkey annoyed he had to go but he figured he'd make the best out of a bad situation. Also it gave him an excuse to hangout at SoHo House's rooftop bar. It was always his scene.
