Chapter 06 — Bloody Skull Weapons Set
"Time to forge myself some new and improved weapons." Skye said gleefully.
"What do I make though? Gotta think this through. I've got enough materials to make approximately 3 weapons below 10kg of weight. I could try making a gun, but it can't be to big though. I can only make a gun at sniper level at most according to my calculations. Let's try it then, a shortsword, a dagger and sniper. Let's see what happens when a scientist with higher level intellect can do with materials and magic. Hehe!" He grinned to himself.
He soon set to work, heating up the metal to optimal temperature, making the mold, hammering it into shape, letting it cool off, sharpening the blades and attaching them to the hilt. It seemed quite easy because he had done this quite a number of times.

The sniper was quite harder to make though, seeing as he wasn't a militia in his past life, but he had the chance to come in contact with some virtual blueprints on how to make some types of guns and he was fairly sure he could replicate them if he tried hard enough.
After about 5 hours of trial and error, he finally completed the sniper, and was ready to begin engraving runes and placing enchantmens on the weapons. The sword and dagger were not hard in placing runes and enchantments on, and he finished them fairly quickly. But few minutes after engraving some enchantments and runes on the sniper, he suddenly thought of something.
'What if I could turn the Mana Burst spell into a rune and engrave it on the sniper? I could make it that it could automatically absorb spirit mana and store it for standby use! Maybe, instead of just bullets, the sniper could also shoot penetrative bursts of mana. Oh my! This..this changes things! Maybe I could make some modifications to the blades. On second thought, I'll leave that for later. The sniper clearly takes priority!' He thought with excitement.
After a few more hours of tinkering, the handsome scientist finally finished his work.
"Whew! Good thing I finished that earlier! I feel as if an executioner is standing before me, holding a guillotine at my neck, just waiting for the time that it'll slash through my throat. This is not a good feeling." He said gravely.
"That being said, I'll have to take more precautions, but first, check out this sweet sweet weapons I made! Whoo! I feel like I'm in love. Ugh! Now I'm just being creepy." He continued as he took out a three feet shortsword, a twelve inch dagger and a sleek and beautiful black sniper 1.3m long.
The three weapons were strangely coloured black, and it seemed as if they could devour light itself. They shone with a cold glow, giving off a particularly dangerous gleam under the partially dim light of the room. They all had a strange mark, a brand on the hilts of the blades and the side of the sniper depicting a tiny blood coloured skull. Skye looked at them in ecstasy, feeling very proud of his work.
"These three are the first of my Bloody Skull Weapons Set. I've always wanted to make them earlier, but I didn't have enough mana. Plus, I think it's a good thing I made them today anyway. They will be known as BS-SS01, BS-D01 and BS-SN01. The first of their kind. Ugh, I'm being awfully strange these days. I'll probably forget these names in a week or two. But who cares! For the first time in a long long time, I feel alive! Heaven, see if you can check out these weapons." Skye said excitedly.

The first thing that came to Skye's mind was "Shit! That really worked?!" And second was "OMG! This is freaking amazing!"
For a while, he was speechless.
To be honest, anyone in his shoes would have felt the same way he did right now.
Not only did he find a way to turn a spell into a rune, he also managed to combine his knowledge from his past life and create something that could be called revolutionary if it weren't for his low level.
Sure, people on Gaia had modern weapons and technology, even slightly advanced than those of the Earth he remembers; but there was always a clear line between magic and technology. I mean, who'd choose a plasma rifle over an Artifact that had enough power to level half a city in one blow?

"Whoa! How did that happen? And what is this universe the book is talking about? Doesn't matter anyway. I don't think it'll do me much good if I think too much about it now. But most importantly, I just found a new way to earn points! Yeah! I was so damn worried!" He said to himself.
"But I think this danger thing has gotten to me a tad bit too much. I need to go out more. Maybe it's time to go clean up this city. Well! Off to the Black Skulls we go! Being an assassin...Sigh...maybe I should quit. Nah! Ain't happening. At least not now. I do not want any other hindrances to my plan." He said with a devious glint in his eyes, that made him look all the more handsome.
At the outskirts of Salem...
"Have you prepared the items I told you to?" Black Snake asked the five men standing behind him.
"Yes Master Black Snake. That thief will not be able to resist the bait and will definitely be crushed under your feet this time sir." Lawthor answered with obvious enthusiasm.
Black Snake grunted. "Don't butter me up with your flattery words Lawthor. You know how it irritates me."
Lawthor bowed. "Yes sir."
Black Snake continued. "Ready the men! That fool will suffer the price for daring to mess with me. This time there will be NO mistakes! We'll show this city what happens when puny fools dare to cross us! We will bathe this city with his blood! Get moving! We have a rat to catch."
He said with a fiendish grin.
