Kyle was sitting on the ground with his knees bent looking at the big 10 feet orc in front of him. It was one hell of a fight.
Alicia looked at the corpse and then at Kyle, emotions in turmoil. With a sigh, she went towards Kyle and hugged him from the back.
'....Cold' She thought.
Kyle on the other hand felt this development for the first time. He heard a little whimper from behind sighing in response.
"....I t-thought this was the end of us this time." A cute soft whisper came out of her mouth.
"Yeah...we overdid it this time... The losses, Alicia...I am happy you were not one of them." Kyle said sadly. He didn't have any facial expression but Alicia could feel it in his voice.
"I know"
They sat like that for a while, both needing this desperately. Kye looked at the corpse and found the same thing near the orc's head. He had been looking at this for a while. This was the first time there had been a drop from a kill.
Alicia got up after some reluctance, Kyle got up and looked at her. He didn't want to see her cry but after looking at her sniffing and rubbing her small nose again ad again. He found it really cute.
CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!
He went toward the big head and picked the rectangular drop he got.

"Woah! I can't believe you got such a skill! This is rare even in the country's main markets." Alicia exclaimed with joy.
Yeah, the country. All the countries in name were still alive, like, Kyle's dungeon was located in the large expanse of Canada. But the states and territories inside changed when people that were once insignificant gained in power.
The leader of the whole of Canada changed after the apocalypse. He came from the refugee slums. But now, he was the leader of a whole country due to gaining power and increased lifespan becoming the aspiration of many.
But it was not like all the countries were alive, many were devoured by others for more area, resources, and power.
But it had nothing to do with Kyle who now had his own territory to care of.
"Do you want this?" Kyle asked while giving the skill book in Alicia's hand. She was fascinated looking at it and tried flipping the paged like the time she got the healing skill and the result was the same. The pages were empty but in abundance, like a hundred.
"You want to give me such a precious skill that we-hm no, you gained from killing the orc..." Her eyes turned watery making Kyle panic about what to do but she stopped and continued. "No one ever gave me such importance, and now that I have got someone like that, I will not take advantage." She tossed the book back and said "This is yours and you will have more advantage in having it."
Kyle was actually touched by what she said, he wanted her to see him as someone important to her like he did, and seeing her reciprocate the feeling, his heart bloomed with happiness.
He just nodded and clicked on the yes, the book shone and dissipated leaving some illuminated particles in the air.
[Skill 'Earth Spear' gained]
Kyle lost his focus as the knowledge of how to use the skill just got engraved inside his mind without warning. It was the first time in being a skeleton, that he felt pain.
"Urghh...why didn't you tell me it will hurt, Alicia?"
"Hm? It didn't when I got mine. And I even felt great while getting it." She said. Kyle could only find it unfair and moved on.
In the status, it showed the skill, it had appeared with its proficiency still at level 1.
Kyle looked at the dirt on the ground and used the information in his mind, he slowly moved his hand upward while his fingers made their own complex moves. Kyle felt like he had practiced these moves for years. Everything came naturally.
The dirt on the ground that the previous skill's owner used trembled and slowly came up and started forming a small spear. After 5 seconds, the spear was formed and Kyle used his fingers to move the brown spear around in the air. When the spear went outside the 5-meter radius, the skill was deactivated and the dirt fell on the ground making Kyle enlightened in the process.
"So that's how it is...." he muttered.
"How is what?"
"The damn orc had the dirt so near him because it needed to be near you for activation. The skulls were a necessity, he didn't put the dirt in the inventory as it would take time to first bring it out and conjure the spear and then, after all preparation, attack. Anyone can kill you in that time easily. With my spear to be this small and the range this less, the level of his skill would be above 5 or so. He used it pretty well." kyle started blabbering all the stuff in his mind out and Alicia only listened without stopping him.
Kyle went to the orc's corpse and pulled the belt around his waist with all the skulls. With Kyle's body size, it was impossible to wear all the skulls and the belt. So, he tore the belt and measured it with his waist. After fitting the belt, he took 2 skulls and connected them with the hooks that were already on the belt.
"You... never mind." Alicia shook her head.
"What, say it, I don't bite...or do I?" He tried to joke but Alicia ignored it.
"You...look a little....ominous," She said while reverting her gaze.
