Chapter 33 - Chapter 33

Back in the other world, Alexis got her hands on a big chunk of mana crystals.

This and the old home of the oni would for the time suffice her, when it came to the topic of mana.

After Alexis upgraded her black hole ability by increasing the radius of the purification to around 5 meters in diameter, the speed at which she absorbed everything increased by a lot.

She was too lazy to do the calculations, but her speed increased by more than four times the original ability had.

But that was only for the normal stuff like stone and air. The mana crystals that the oni gathered over the years took longer and gave off more mana than anything else in the vicinity.

This led to the creation of a large crater around the stronghold even before the mana crystals got absorbed fully.

She had truly underestimated how long she would need for a single crystal.

With all the crystals that the oni had stored, she would need to slowly absorb them over a few days she at best.

Even though she enlarged the purification area to 5 meters, it could still only hold not all the crystals.

And further increasing the radius of the absorption was out of question because she noticed that it would take way more energy to purify things further away than it produced.

As she already had absorbed the surrounding kilometers of landmass, Alexis had nothing better to do anymore. She could simply absorb the crystals passively over a long time.

At least that was what she thought at the time.

The thing Alexis was in need of, was a good night of sleep after everything she had done.

Now that she though about it more, when was the last time she slept?

She was constantly on the run, so she had seldomly taken time for herself in the past few days.

It must have been before she ascended to godhood that she got a good night's sleep.

But because her body only needed pure energy to sustain itself, Alexis did not feel the need to sleep at all.

Sleep was now mainly good for a calm state of mind and to escape from the stress she put herself under all the time.

Arriving at home and falling into her own bed was a feeling she somehow missed very much.

Between her and her normal life opened a large rift that was pulling her further and further away from being average.

Becoming powerful was a good feeling, but she did not feel as if this was the right way.

Alexis was becoming more dependent on others. Especially on the gods.

At some point in the future she had to decide on a side to pick from.

Either she would have to side with the gods of her original world, or with the goddess of creation from the other world.

Both choices were good in one or the other way. But it still restricted Alexis into a single mindset to work with some higher powers.

Coming from a family of free thinkers, to be put into a single role without being able to get out of it was a nightmare.

Sure, Alexis did some things on her own. But was this really all her doing, or was this just what the gods expected to happen and allow?

Overthinking got the best out of Alexis and it took her a long time after she began to think about her purpose again to fall asleep.

She decided to sleep in human form again, but to her surprise, she had woken up curled up in her wings. This was certainly a new way of waking up.

Did she do it because it was comfortable or simply because it gave her a little bit of security that she needed?

Nonetheless, she needed to get up now. Being a bundle of energy in a literal way took effect on her personality a bit in terms of motivation.

This was the mindset of a workaholic that she fully lived right now.

There was constantly so much to do that she lost count of her goals.

A faint smell of breakfast entered Alexis's nose. Someone was making something delicious.

Having never smelled that particular smell before, it had to be something special.

And indeed, her father was preparing some special bread made out of different otherworld ingredients.

"Good morning Elly, do you want to taste the bread that I made? I have worked on a new recipe with otherworld ingredients. Your mother will love it."

He only halfheartedly looked in her direction. It was no wonder that he had mistook her for his sister.

"Have you seen the note that was left for you dad?"

Now that she remembered, Alexis left the note on the table in the living room. It wouldn't be too surprising if he did not see it.

"I logged off around an hour or so, after that I started cocking breakfast. This bread is not the only thing I made."

"Haaaa~" She contemplated leaving the note in the living room.

"Before continuing, please look at the most discussed post on the forum. I don't know how much information you are getting at your mage academy, but something big happened not long ago."

Following the advice oh his daughter, Gregory looked at the forum and filtered to the recently most talked about posts.

He found the post Alexander had made and every other post talked in some way of the God that descended in Germany.

"Has he seriously become a god Elly? Or is this some kind of joke. What did your mother say about this?"

Gregory looked at the different posts the people made and soon found a link to the video where Alexander came down with his angels.

He made quite a show just to demonstrate abilities. Even though he blurred the faces of the people he selected, they still feared him greatly.

When he came to a different post that talked about how cute the wolf god looked Gregory, burst out in laughter.

They even made a fan club for him. T-Shirts, sticker, everything that could be marketed was available.

"He declared world domination and he still is revered as a good god? How the heck did he do that?"

Alexis lifted up her shoulders and made a defeated look as if she also didn't know the answer for that. It was her plan to make plushies of her wolf form, but that the people were faster than her in that regard came as a surprise even for her.

"Where is he anyway? Your mother is also away. Did they go out together?"

'God damn I totally forgot them in heaven!!!' Alexis had a worried look on her face when she took her father by his arm and took him through a gate, he made to the meeting room of heaven.

Not knowing what his daughter was doing, Gregory played along and went through the gate with her without questioning why she could create gates now.

Intrigued of where his daughter had took him, he looked around to see three completely wasted people.

They were sleeping on their chairs and looked kind of comfortable.

Gregory was surprised by the people, Alexis however looked suspiciously at the screed that showed the meeting room. As she walked around, the screen showed a new angle with her in it.

"The hell? They were spying on me the entire time as if I am in a reality tv show?"

More confused than ever, Gregory looked at his two daughters?

Why where there two Ellies?

He slapped his own face and connected the dots. The one that made the gate was his son Alexander in female form.

To be honest, she behaved different from the normal Elly.

"Should I call you Alexandra now? Or by what do you go now?"

Alexis looked smirkishly at him. She did not feel the need to correct him before.

"We somehow settled on Alexis. I like that name very much. To be honest, I like this form better than my male one. Even though I now look like Elly, I am still me but just female.

Nothing much changed otherwise.

Gregory was still processing the whole God thing. And then his only son turned into a daughter all of a sudden.

"You can go back whenever you want right?"

Even though that was something that Alexis could do, she wouldn't for the time being.

Being female had many benefits that her male body didn't have.

The fact that she was a frail looking woman that could lift heavy weaponry was already cool enough.

And as a sweet bonus, people were not taking her seriously while fighting.

Coupled with the general feeling of happiness that she had in her new body, Alexis did not even want to change back.

"I can, but for the time being my female body is better for what I want."

Alexis made her way to the sleeping Elly and tried to wake her.

They were still pretty much wasted.

She had no luck in waking her sister. Similar things happened with Joan.

Both were deeply asleep and neither talking to them nor screaming worked.

But who woke up because of the ruckus was Liliana.

She was used to the strong alcohol, so other than her not so happy face she was making, everything was fine with her.

"Good morning sleepyhead. Did you have fun drinking my family?"

Liliana was not quite awake right now and tried grabbing the bottle again.

"Oh no you don't. Only hardcore alcoholics make use of the counter beer. And you want to top even that with strong alcohol?"

She looked angry when Alexis took away her bottle. She was right, Liliana knew that, but what else could she do? Liliana was the goddess of creation. And her entire purpose was robbed of her by the stupid core of the world.

If she could muster the strength to just create a new world, she would.

But all the things that she created would be left to rot without protection. She could not get herself to just leave them.

Her only solace was to drink her sorrow away.

"Do you still know my domain, Liliana?"

Liliana was confused. Where was Alexis going with this.

"Alcohol is kind of a poison. Wouldn't you agree to that?"

'Oh no!!!' She knew where this was going.

"Joaaaan~ Keep your daughter under control please."

Liliana was trying to get away from Alexis while slouching towards Joan's sleeping body.

"To try using my own mother against me. I expected nothing less of you."

She grabbed Liliana at the neck and started injecting her holy aura into her.

Purity had the sweet side effect that it neutralized poison.

Alcohol included.

Taken out of her stupor, Liliana felt clearer in her head than in years.

Even before Alexis did unbelievable things, Liliana had been drinking.

Sometimes even without a reason to. She just drank to forget.

Now that she was clear for the first time in years, melancholy of her once glorious days as a good goddess came back to her. Like how she managed heaven practically by herself or how she had the creativity to just create new things.

"Thank and at the same time screw you, Alexis."

Doing the same thing for her mother and sister, Alexis took them each into one of her arms and was about to leave.

"Please don't spy on me too much in the future. I cannot stop you right now but as long as you do no harm, I don't need to stop you."

Gregory who had been confused thoroughly, was asking himself lot of questions about what was going on.

He had taken out of the conversation that the third woman in the room was called Liliana, but who exactly she was, Gregory find hard to guess.

She seemed to be on good terms with his wife. But that was all.

If he guessed right and they were indeed somewhere in heaven. This woman could as well be an angel or a god.

But would gods really stoop so low to be drunk the entire time?
