Deflecting knives of ice, Amber sends spheres of mana at the spirit. With a wave it sends needles of ice at the spheres. As the needles pierce the spheres, the spheres explode creating a mist.
In the mist Amber sends miasma shurikens at the spirit. While she sends tendrils of mana into the ground. As an ice net catches the shurikens the ground barely shifts, 'Not what I was trying to do. Now then let's try something else,' Amber thinks to herself.
Feeling the ground shift the spirit forms ice wings and soars into the sky. Around it a hailstorm brews. 'So it's not going to let me just use the ground against it. Then how about I spread mana and miasma around me equally and control the air like that.'
As she does this, she continues to send waves of flame to the hailstones that are going to hit her. Noticing the change of mana and miasma around Amber, the spirit stops the hailstorm and readies a large attack.
With a quick jump back Amber manages to control the air. The wind helps push her away from the large ice spike. As the spike gets bigger a head is seen and an ice rhinoceros appears in front of her. 'Well at least I can somewhat use the mana and miasma around me. I'll need more practice to extend it though something as formless as air. But I should be able to send it through the ground.
Wait a second couldn't I send it through the ice and stop it from moving. Wouldn't that be more productive.' With that thought Amber attempts to send mana and miasma through the ice.
Even though it wasn't enough to stop the ice she smiles. 'It is possible. But I would need to send in at least as much mana and miasma as the spirit is using to do so. But it slowing down is just enough to show its possible.'
She shows down the attacks and slowly gets closer to the spirit. "Why are my attacks slowing down?"
Amber just laughs, 'I will pity whoever will have to face me when the go through this challenge. As I have fighters out how to use man and miasma to influence the elements around me. I may not be proficient at it. But inexperienced people will not understand why I would be able to slow tier attacks down.
'Which does make me think that perhaps I could use it to influence another being. Before I Strasbourg that I should get comfortable with just using it on the elements.
'But how do I enter what I can assume is the flame priestess form at will. I did it accidently once before. I know I was angry but that can't be the only trigger to be able to enter it.'
She jumps up and using the naginata blasts the ice attacks away. With a shocked ecosystem the spirit watches as Amber cuts through it.
The audience is flabbergasted as they watch her land. "Who could have seen that coming? She managed to defeat someone who was in the ice priestess form while not even being in a priestess form. But she didn't even use her flames. Just pure mana and miasma," the announcer says.
'To think that was only the first opponent. She didn't seem to truly understand how to utilize that form. She most have used it while on this step for the first time.
'Others may not have to face her. But that just means I am either stronger or more skilled. But it doesn't matter. I have to move on to the next floor. I am almost at the top only 9 more to go. I need to get to the top.
'Emperor difficulty has a staircase but it is only 30 steps high. I planned on entering that and rushing through it all. But there are higher difficulties.
'They most limit information on them. But I should have been keeping up with the pace of the fastest Emperor completion. Beir most be doing just as well at keeping pace.
'I'd be shocked if he managed to break the records for it. If my math is right I should have at least 250k points. But right now I am not sure how many I'll end up with.
'I'll have a good number of points. I'll be top of my class. Beirut will be behind me. I don't know how useful th3se points are. But I don't think I want to spend them willy nilly or lose them.
'Especially sense they aren't easy to come by. And only reason I am getting then here, is because of how dangerous and challenging this actually is. But that means I still have access to two more that I can do.'
Looking at Amber Primar is shocked. 'To think her first opponent is someone who just started using the priestess form. I don't think I could have won. At least not without ugliness born elements that I have an affinity for.'
Lilian upon witnessing that sighs. 'I hope I don't have to face Amber's ghost in those stairs. She seems to improve as she fights. Having a priestess form means nothing in front of her. She didn't even use her flames. Just mana and miasma. That means she is still holding back. Could she have access to the flame priestess form?
'If that is true then I would be good as long as I don't have to face her up on that stairs unless I make it to the top floor. That dark house is also doing really well. The dark hourse seems to change every time. So probably placed so we don't try to cheat the system and don't just win without earning it.'
Amber looks up and smiles. 'I should be able to learn how to enter the flame priestess form at will. But even more exciting then that is I can fight against strong opponents. They will only get stronger from here.'
