Chapter 502 - Lucky Gordon

It turns out that after the last ambush on Peter, Harry faced retaliation from the bad Spiderman. He bravely endured a pumpkin bomb explosion, thanks to his enhanced physique. However, the bomb didn't explode too close, saving him from death, but half of his face was disfigured.

Two failed revenge attempts plunged Harry into a vortex of hatred. With both new and old grievances piling up, he was unlikely to offer assistance. Rather than directly confronting Spider-Man, he retained a shred of sanity.

Peter didn't waste time persuading. With Mary Jane waiting for his rescue, he had to act alone, even without assistance.

At this moment, the video in the light curtain paused, presenting a new question:

[ Peter Parker, with whose help did he ultimately defeat Sandman and Venom? saving Mary Jane?]

[ A: Harry Osborn

B: Mary Jane

C: Police

D: Sandman/ Flint Marko]

"The video pauses at a critical moment again..." Gordon sighed, "but at least it's good news that Peter ultimately wins."

Peter also sighed in relief. Just seeing the challenges he would face in the future through the video was troubling.

Facing Sandman and Venom individually was difficult, as both villains would likely use Mary Jane or Aunt May as hostages. Especially with these two super-criminals joining forces.

But now with the enhanced strength from the quiz game, he was confident in handling both and rescuing Mary Jane. However, in the normal timeline, it wouldn't be that easy.

Peter was concerned that the rescue operation might go awry. He wasn't afraid for himself but worried about Mary Jane.

Luckily, this question clearly indicated that Spider-Man would eventually win!

"Firstly, we can rule out option c." Arthur smiled, glancing at Gordon, who didn't take the bait. He shrugged and continued, "Among the remaining options, choose one, Peter, what do you think?"

Peter scratched his head, "Well, I'm not too sure... but it seems like the least likely option is d?"

Sandman was also in the options, indicating that he might turn the tables or change sides at the end.

From the future video, it was evident that Sandman wasn't an irredeemable villain. He took the criminal path to raise money for his seriously ill daughter.

Sandman was different from the morally corrupt and fallen Eddie. There seemed to be a possibility of him switching sides.

Bruce glanced at Arthur, thinking that option d had a higher probability. However, he didn't express his opinion to avoid giving Arthur more points.

On the scoreboard, Arthur remained in the lead, followed by Peter and Bruce. The gap between them and the top widened, but the competition for the second spot continued.

Nevertheless, Bruce still hoped to eliminate Arthur. Despite the apparent point difference, two consecutive incorrect answers could still lead to elimination.

After contemplating, Bruce said, "The least reasonable option may not necessarily be the correct answer. We've answered many questions, and we should be aware of that. Personally, I lean towards choosing a or b."

Gordon nodded, "Alright, Bruce, I trust you. I choose a!"

Peter thought for a moment, "Then I'll go with b. Maybe Mary Jane really played a significant role. She's not a weak woman."

Bruce sighed inwardly. He wanted to mislead Arthur, but now both Peter and Gordon chose options different from what he hinted at. What were these two up to?

The key was that Arthur didn't fall for it. It seemed he saw through Bruce's tricks, smirking as he said, "I'll stick with d."

In their discussion, the countdown for answering began. They exchanged glances, and without hesitation, each pressed their answer buttons. Once again, Arthur successfully got the chance to answer first. Following his intuition, he chose d and glanced at Bruce, curious about his choice.

Bruce smirked, also selecting d. Gordon chose a, and Peter Parker chose b.

Both were surprised by Bruce's choice. Didn't he say he would choose A or b earlier?

Gordon reacted faster, realizing it was a trap set by Bruce. He couldn't help but complain silently, "Give me some hints, at least. What's with the eye signals?"

However, in the previous rounds of questioning, Bruce had given similar hints, yet Gordon lacked insight. Even after several attempts, he failed to grasp it. This time, he decided to refrain from any subtle moves.

Amidst Arthur's mocking smile, the countdown ended, and the correct answer was revealed:[ The Correct Answer is: A ]

[Congratulations to player Jim Gordon for the correct answer, earning 1 point.]

[Player Arthur Fleck answered incorrectly, deducting 4 points. Player Bruce Wayne and Player Peter Parker both answered incorrectly, deducting 1 point each]

The unexpected happened – only Gordon answered correctly. Even he was surprised, considering Bruce and Arthur usually got it right. Just a moment ago, he was disappointed for not understanding Bruce's intention, but now he was pleased, "Ha, finally, I get to be the lucky one!"

Peter jokingly remarked, "If it was about scoring in answering, that would be the real luck. Mr Gordon, you have to work harder for that."

Although he lost points in the answer, Peter's mood was good because this question proved he didn't misjudge his friend Harry. Gordon, still smiling, replied, "I should really learn more from an experienced player like you."

As the answering concluded, the screen resumed playing the video. After rejecting Peter and sending him away, Harry's loyal butler found him. Despite the unobtrusive presence, the old butler understood the Osborn family well, knowing their Green Goblin identities. He revealed the fatal injury inflicted by the glider, originating from the first Green Goblin himself, and earnestly advised Harry to cherish a friend like Peter.
