Chapter 37 - ᑕᕼᗩᑭTᗴᖇ 36: ᴛʀᴇᴀsᴜʀᴇ ғᴏᴜɴᴅ

"Why don't we play treasure hunting?" Samuel asked and everyone threw him a questioning look.

"Of course. Only the house guests are playing except Yalex!" Samuel added as he chuckled while Yalex immediately growled at him.

"Why am I not joining!?" He growled.

"Because you'll cheat! Besides! You have someone important to focus on instead of joining the game." Trevor scoffed at him nonchalantly and Samuel shrugged his shoulder for Trevor had already said it for him.

"Geez. That sounds so lame and childish but I'm fu**ing in!!!" Rhian cheered knowing she have the advantage.

"Alright. Chop chop! Everyone is free to go all over the house. And! Find the owner of this scent!" Jessi announced as she slowly pulled out some straws from the dragon's nest.

"Sh*t! It smells like Samuel too!" Rhian grumbled and groaned in annoyance.

Advantage? Spoke to soon maybe.

Because that scent. Is the one and only scent that Rhian could never find or discover the owner after smelling it from Samuel.

"Alright! Go on! Take as much time as you need!" Samuel said and ushered everyone to skedaddle.

Coleen and Yvel immediately started running down the hallway like kids. Laughing at each other and eventually parting ways to different direction.

"No fair! These two are trained hunters!" Blue complained and pointed at Jade and Rhian.

The girls only giggled and waved at Blue to tease him more before they left to make their own search.

"It's not against the rules. So we can use our powers right?" Trevor asked Samuel and the older only grinned.

"You can try." He said and that left Trevor quite confused.

"Come on. We can't let those girls win on us! My pride is on the line!" Blue said with pure determination and ran to the hallway where Yvel and Coleen had run to.

Once the six were gone...

"You two are hiding something!" Yalex spat at Samuel and Jessi rather aggressively.

"Oh please! You're just gonna spoil the fun!" Jessi scoffed at him and rolled her eyes as she sat beside Ysabella. Gradually stroking her soft and silky hair.

Yalex suddenly turned to Ysabella when she spoke.

But what she said took Yalex with so much surprise than her very own existence.

"I can't seem to pick up the scent. It's everywhere but--" Rhian groaned in frustration. She and Jade had made it to the upper floor of the house. Not far from Jessi's room.

"I don't understand. The scent is everywhere so it only means that whatever. Or whoever we are looking for had been here!" Jade said and bit her nails. A habit she discovered on land whenever she gets very curious.

"What are we missing? We literally scanned the entire second floor. And I don't think the others found anything downstairs either!" Rhian said as she turned to look at Jade, waiting for her to react.

"We should split up and do one more check. If there's really nothing. Let's check downstairs." The princess suggested and the vampire nodded in agreement.

"Where is it???" Yvel mumbled for the nth time.

Ever since the game had started and she split up with Coleen. Yvel became more bothered and furious. She felt some kind of energy trying to pull her down to the floor.

It's nothing to make her weak but there was some kind of force that calls her to the floor.

And so here she is, her ear stucked on the waxed brown floor. Crawling to whatever direction.

She felt so weird and frustrated. And it didn't took long when she started hearing incoherent whispers in her mind.

It's not clear but she could definitely hear it in her head. This made Yvel feel very uneasy and she became more eager and impatient.

"Ugh! Where is it!!?" She groaned as she sat up in a haste. Her ash-colored eyes glared at all her surroundings. Trying to scan everything she hadn't checked yet.

Yvel whipped her head to her left. Hearing the whispers coming from that direction. She stood up unconsciously. Letting her feet drag her to that direction.

And if only she wasn't still in the very least sane, she would have bumped with Blue.

Blue quickly stepped back as he almost yelp in surprise. Pulling the moon goddess out of that somewhat kind of trance.

"Geez. You look like you're sleep walking!" Blue said but then he noticed the girl's eyes drastically looking around.

"Are you alright?" He asked with concern. Noticing how the girl seemed very bothered.

However, Yvel did not reply and turned her gaze to her right. Where she could feel an air space or something like that behind the wall.

She walked towards that wall and pushed with all her strength.. While Blue stood on the same spot and watched her every movement.

She looked weird... and trapped in a trance...

The angel thought as he tilted his head.

A door finally opened when she heard the whispers again. Blue gasped in surprise and decided to tail her not far behind. Worried that something seemed really weird about her right now. Especially after discoverinhg a secret door out of nowhere.

Soon, the two reached a basement and because it's dark, Yvel's entire body glowed to bring light in the empty darkness.

Blue smiled in amusement. He liked how she glows but he decided to focus more on their hunt.

The two started looking around the basement.

There's literally nothing there except old and ancient music instruments that are delicately wrapped with white cloth that were all glistening with frost.

It seemed that Samuel used his magic to keep the instruments in good condition...

Blue thought and decided to look at what Yvel was doing.

But then he saw Yvel standing in front of a huge hole on the wall.

Blue gasped and quickly came to check the hole.

It was actually a tunnel. A tunnel that leads to an underground cave.

And by the looks of it, the house must've been built on top of it either on purpose or mere coincidence.

"Is it just me? Or can you also hear the whispers?" Yvel suddenly asked him and Blue looked at her with confusion written all over his face.

What is she talking about?

Blue gently shook his head before he replied the girl. "I don't hear anything." He said and Yvel became more worried.

She feels like she was going insane.

"I hear whispers. It feels like it's coming from here." Yvel said to him and both looked at the tunnel.

"Let's check it out. I'll go first." Blue said and entered the tunnel without any form of hesitation.

Yvel followed behind him soon. The tunnel gets more narrow and soon it was kind of stiff so they had to be very careful. A few minutes later and they reached the end of the tunnel which was pitch dark.

"Why is it dark?" Blue asked and waited for Yvel to arrive to finally lit up some brightness.

"Hey! What's taking you so long?!" Blue suddenly yelled and his voice echoed all over the cave.

"Why are you yelling?!" Yvel snapped startling Blue in the process.

"Y-Yvel?!" Blue asked and heard a dejected sigh.

"I don't understand. I should be glowing brightly in this dark place. But I'm not. So you better stay back." Blue heard her said.

He doesn't even know where or how far exactly she is. It's totally pitch black and it felt like the two were walking on thin ice. They felt more trapped now.

However. The whispers became louder to Yvel. She could sense it coming from her right but knew better not to make rash movements or else she might bump into Blue by accident. Yvel is usually afraid of the dark but this time felt too different to be afraid first. She knows something is really up in this cave and clearly it's something bigger even than her fear of darkness.

Yvel tried to summon a moonlight on her hand. But to her dismay. She couldn't feel any of her power. She felt very normal.

She felt mortal.

"None of my powers seems to work here! I think this cave is bewitched or something." Yvel said with sheer frustration.

Blue frowned upon her statement. So he tried to use one of his abilities other than sending souls to the afterlife.

Blue can also use dark magic. So he made a ball of a glowing purple mist appear on his hands.

But it's not bright enough to light the whole place.

"Dark magic. You have that too?! I thought you're the angel of death!" Yvel exclaimed as she quickly took one step back.

She heard Blue let out a tired sigh and the glow finally dissipated. Bringing the darkness back again to engulf them.

"I don't know either. But my powers seems to work fine here. I wonder what's wrong with yours." He said and Yvel rolled her eyes with disbelief.

"Maybe dark magic are the only thing that works in this cave. Why am I even surprised." She scoffed and crossed her arms before silence took over them.

A few minutes later and they heard voices coming from the tunnel.

The two became alert and Blue had to take three steps back. Atleast he's aware for now that Yvel isn't anywhere close to his personal space.

"Fu**!!!" They heard Trevor's cuss echoing through the tunnel.

Seconds later and a flash from the younger's phone shone light to the two. Trevor was startled as he didn't expect to see the two in there.

"Why are you looking at us like that?" Yvel scoffed and looked away. And then she heard the whispers again. It sounded more desperate now so she decided to pull Trevor to use him as her flashlight while Blue quietly tailed behind them.

"W-what's wrong with you? Where are you taking me?" Trevor asked with pure bafflement.

"Why ask when you can read my mind." Yvel scoffed and continued pulling him.

Trevor did as she said. However nothing seemed to work. Not even a spark.

He frowned and quickly halted from his steps. Causing the other two to stop and looked at him with furrowed brows.

Trevor tried invading his mind. But nothing. Not that they're not thinking anything.

Trevor felt very humany. He felt a sudden loss of his powers. Like he never had one at all.

He tried to cast out some cards. Or atleast create an illusion. However it only made him look like an idi**.

"What's wrong?" Blue asked and Trevor looked at him with wide eyes.

"I-it's not working." He said completely shocked and Yvel rolled her eyes.

"Don't take me for an idi**! You both have dark magic. If Blue's powers works here just fine, so does yours!" She spat aggressively and tried pulling Trevor with her but he remained on his spot. Causing Yvel to glare at him but then noticed he was glaring at Blue who was avoiding his gaze.

"What is she talking about?" Trevor asked with an obvious gritted teeth.

"You two sound like you're doubting my loyalty here." Blue mumbled as his insecurity began to make its way back to his mind again.

He did so well hiding that side power of him. Maybe he shouldn't have shown it to Yvel at all and kept it a secret like he did before.

"Don't worry. I never used it to kill..." he added and tried not to let his tears betray him. Atleast he had gotten mentally stronger this time.

Yvel wanted to question them more but the whispers began ringing to her ears again and it made her aggressed.

"Fu**! Let's just go! We'll deal with this later!" Yvel groaned and pulled Trevor again as they continue with their trail.

"Go where? It's literally our first time in this place." Trevor moped but let the girl drag him anyway.

Only a few minutes later and the three finally arrived to a much brighter spot of the cave. There were torches on the walls which probably was put there by either Jessi or Samuel.

They saw a pond nearby and there was a huge round nest beside it. Beside the nest is an old couch and a table with a phonograph on top of it.

The three stood there in line while scanning the cave.

Soon, their eyes landed on the nest where they saw something moving on the middle of it.

The three shared confused looks at each other before they started walking.

The boys suddenly halt feeling a strong scent and presence coming from the nest. Too strong that Trevor couldn't seem to stand it while Blue could feel his chest growing heavy.

He could hear it now.

The whispers that Yvel was talking about.

"What is it?" Blue asked as he and Trevor decided to take a step closer despite the overwhelming presence that seems to weaken them both.

"I-It's... a stone..." Yvel said as she locked her gaze on the oval and rough scaly stone.

It was tilting aggressively and she could hear something from it. A very soft and tiny squeals.

But it's a stone. Unless it's a stone for black magic?

She asked to herself while staring at the stone longer than she intended.

Soon enough, Blue and Trevor had finally saw the stone as well.

"Wow. Look how it's moving. I think that stone is alive. Or possessed." Trevor stated as he unconsciously stared and watched the egg.

"I-I don't think that's a stone." Blue muttered and the two looked at him confused.

"I guess you're blind now." Trevor deadpanned and Blue rolled his eyes as he took a one step back.

"I could feel a soul from it! Don't fu**ing tell me that I'm wrong because I know a soul when I feel one! And that thing! Whatever the hell it is!"

"That is not a stone and that is alive. It has a soul, too powerful enough to match a demon's presence! Whatever's in that thing is a perfect match for Yalex!" Blue exclaimed in a very defensive manner.

Trevor and Yvel shared an equally confused look.

"If you say that. You are implying that this is an egg. And an angel is inside it!" Yvel said and Blue sighed not knowing if he should say yes. "Which is insanely impossible because I don't think there are any angels in history that came out of an egg! And from a stone looking one at that." She added.

"Stop sugarcoating! Just simply say the egg is ugly and horrible!" Trevor exclaimed rollong his eyes as he walk away from the nest and sat down the couch. Yvel quickly darted a glare at him.

"I-I don't know. It's just... I don't know how to explain this but I'm certain that it's not a stone." Blue defended his statement again before walking to the couch and sat on the other end.

Yvel sighed and turned her gaze to the stone-looking-like egg as Blue claims it to be.

Then she turned to look at the two...

"Should we show it to the others? I think this may be the treasure. For it to be hidden in some place like this." She said and the two nodded their heads. Totally agreed at what she said.

"Let's go. This place makes me feel very weird." Trevor said and stood up. Prepping his phone for the flashlight.

Blue stood up next and waited for Yvel to pick up the 'egg' before they go.

Yvel turned around and knelt on the nest. She lifted her hand to reach the egg.

But the sooner her fingers grazed its surface, a bright and unbearable brightness casted upon them. Spreading all over the cave along with a very strong and powerful wave.

Leaving everyone there unconscious.
