"S-stop..."
Everyone stopped at their busy movements when they heard Trevor cried.
He was whimpering in pain on his seat and he's gotten much paler than normal.
Rhian quickly dashed to check him while the four on the floor finally stopped fighting and stood up to watch the two with concern.
"Oh no! W-what's wrong with him?" Blue asked seeing how weak his friend looked like.
Trevor's limbs became lifeless. That when Rhian helped him stand to attempt to leave the dining room. He suddenly fell down.
His breathing were ragged and beads of sweats trickling down his forehead. His temperature increasing by seconds making it harder for him to breathe.
Yalex was about to come to him but Rhian had to stop him immediately.
"You're too hot! You know very well that heat is his weakness but you just had to go overboard!" Rhian yelled furiously while shooting deadly glares towards the demon.
Yvel and Coleen were both surprised to see Yalex looking fazed and worried.
Like, he's a demon. He's suppose to be evil from the bottom of his heart.
If ever he have one.
"Find Samuel. Trevor needs to cool down if you don't want your precious souls dying with him!" Rhian said and Yalex quickly disappeared after casting a blue fire on himself.
He came back within seconds with Jade and Samuel.
"Holy sh*t! Trevor!!!" Samuel shrieked seeing the boy on the floor. His poor breads dropping down on the floor in a snap.
Samuel quickly carried Trevor and rushed him to one of the rooms with the others tailing behind.
Especially Blue who's worried sick for his friend and he can't help but cry and panic. Blaming himself at the same time for letting this happen.
They watched Samuel create a lotus flower made of ice on each of the bed post. Soon, a frost began to spread from the flowers to the bed and walls of the room.
Samuel quickly exited the room and locked it.
Once done, he turned to the others with piercing glares.
"I can't believe your kid fight nearly killed Trevor!" He said with gritted teeth while the four being held at fault simply lowered their heads to avoid Samuel's intimidating glare.
As much as Jade and the other two wanted to be glad seeing Trevor in this state. They can't help but feel guilty for wanting it, when clearly Trevor was just wanting to have a peaceful breakfast.
They were the ones who caused him harm when they were clashing presences with the demon.
"And you!" "Ow!!!"
Samuel suddenly smacked Yalex on the head causing him to yelp and grabbed his poor head while pouting at the winter prince.
The others flinching hearing the sound of Samuel's smack on the demon's head. It sounds like it hurts.
"He! Is! Your! Fu**ing! Mate!!!" Samuel scolded while constantly smacking him everywhere and Yalex could just yelp while stepping back to try and avoid him but Samuel is clearly pissed.
"If you wanted him dead! You should've just sucked off his soul!!!" Samuel yelled with complete terror and everyone flinched again. Including Yalex himself.
This is the first time for them to see Samuel completely angry.
And it's very scary. Scarier than Yalex presence.
The demon looked at Rhian. Trying to ask help. But the vampire quickly shook her head. Mouthing an 'it's your fault! I ain't dealing with an angry time keeper'.
"Argh! Fu**! Why did I even stopped checking everything!!!" Samuel groaned in frustration.
A part of him blames himself because like what he told Rhian, Samuel stopped seeing every possible futures to give himself a rest from it.
And because of that, he didn't know that Trevor will be nearly killed because of their immature fight. And he even left Trevor by himself thinking he'll be fine with his mate.
"I'm sorry alright! Geez! You think I would waste my time protecting him if I want him dead!?" Yalex yelled in a defensive manner while caressing his swollen arms because of Samuel's hits at him.
"This is all my fault!" Samuel quietly mumbled with his voice cracking. But still clear enough for everyone to hear because of their heightened senses.
"You three should leave for now. I'll make sure to pay you all a visit once Trevor gets better and this boys are back on track." Rhian said to the girls and had to pull them with her.
She didn't want them to see their future leader in this state. She knows Samuel's been really exhausted lately.
It may not seem like it. But each of them are all trying to deal with something big and Samuel is helping everyone out.
Rhian and Vladimir had been tracking werewolves who trespassed the city. She's also been doing a background check on Yvel with Trevor's help because of her, sharing her very rare family name. And the fact that Yvel seems to have no idea is obviously annoying her.
Blue is still finding troubles with his own identity. But atleast he's improving by showing ghosts to the right path to the afterlife.
Trevor needed to stay at Rhian's place and had to quit his part time job because of another demon who wants his soul.
And the fact that the demon is his own father is not yet known to him because the three is just freaking good of not thinking about it when Trevor is around.
While Yalex has been going back and forth to the underworld just to make sure that Gammon is distracted to not have enough time to search and track down his son.
Samuel's been helping them all. While at the same time, taking care of the phoenix and the dragon egg at home. And also finishing up every activities that he is responsible at school as a student council president.
It's been a very exhausting for Samuel. And even for Yalex.
Not to mention that this whole protection detail is very new for someone so badass as him. He kept telling himself that he's doing it for the soul and his mate instinct working on him.
But is that even the real reason right?
And now with the three white creatures being add up to the team.
Samuel's responsibilities increased to the maximum level.
Now he must make sure that the princess of mermaids remain untouched and unharmed.
He must make sure that the moon goddess remains safe until it is time for her to meet the other two members of their group.
And he must also make sure to keep Coleen alive and unharmed. For she is the last of her race.
Too much on his plate. And the toll it takes on him is causing him to weaken and it could leave him unconscious for days.
It happened once when he hadn't met Jessi yet. And it was very concerning because no one was there to take care of the phoenix and the dragon egg.
"Come on! I said I'm sorry! You're not gonna cry like that crybaby, are you!?" Yalex whined and pointed at the crying Blue who's busy staring at the door of Trevor's room while pouring tears out of his eyes.
"It's alright. I should have seen this coming." Samuel said and forced out a smile as he sniffle.
"Hey! If it makes you feel better. I'm trying to empty all my appointments just to help! This is just an accident. And I didn't mean to nearly kill my mate!" Yalex defended as his expressions slowly turned serious.
"Alright. I understand. Just make sure this doesn't happen again. Trevor will be a big loss to us if he dies." Samuel said last before he decided to go back at the dining room to grab new sets of bread to relieve his stress.
Yalex sighed as he teleported inside the room to check on Trevor.
He can't help but shiver at the sudden coldness that engulfed him.
He sighed in relief seeing Trevor finally sitting up. Although he still looks weak and very tired.
His eyes were half lidded open and his breathing had become more stable now.
"How are you feeling?" Yalex asked and appeared with a puff of smoke to sit beside Trevor.
"Half dead thanks to you." The boy gave off a sarcastic remark and Yalex can't help but chuckle at his snarky response.
"I'm sorry for earlier okay. Blue was being an assh*le!" Yalex snickered and Trevor quickly threw him a glare.
"I'll rest better if you leave me alone." He said without hesitation and Yalex pouted.
"You're so cold. Shouldn't you atleast consider my apology? This is literally the first time I did that!" The demon whined and stomped his feet.
"Whatever. Just leave. I want to rest." Trevor said weakly and laid back on the bed while frowning.
Yalex sighed in defeat and crossed his arms. He didn't leave the room but made sure to keep a safe distance from the boy. Allowing him to rest as much as he needs.
He did this after all. So watching him is the least thing he can do to remove a surprising guilt that lurks in him.
Once Trevor had fallen into deep slumber. Yalex began to think about his conversation with Samuel a few days ago regarding about their mark.
Samuel asked him to keep the mark on Trevor. That way, Yalex will immediately know his whereabouts in case Gammon manage to find him.
It's like a quick escape route for Trevor so as much as the sorcerer wanted to refuse when he was informed about a demon wanting him dead. He couldn't help but just agree to leave the mark there given that it's for his own safety.
Although, he and Yalex had come up to a terms that just because they are mated. It's not necessary for them to interact like a couple. Because Trevor made it clear to him that he likes a girl and wanted to remain loyal.
Yalex didn't bother to play dirty with him since he wanted to fully focus with Gammon now that he's back in the underworld and trying to claim what is Yalex property.
Not to mention that he too wanted to help Samuel because they are "friends" now. And friends helps each other, he said.
Will it hurt him to know that the girl he likes despise her from the bones?
