Chapter five
Giddy Giddy
Their eyes met, but Madison took hers away. She couldn't maintain an eye contact with him.
She just wanted to go faraway from him as soon as possible but her wish wasn't granted, as he came by to stop her.
"Madison." He called and she stopped.
"Let's talk."He asked.
Of course, she had a lot to talk about but she wasn't ready to talk to him. She wanted to yell at him, give him a taste of the pain she felt, but she couldn't do anything.
"I believe there is nothing to talk about." She replied coldly and tried walking away.
"You keep saying that..you and I know there is a lot to talk about." He objected.
"Leave me alone Asher!" She yelled, and started crying again. "What do you want to say? Huh? You're sorry? I'm not interested in whatever you have to say so just leave me alone!" She yelled again and wiped her tears.
"Maddie...we can talk this out." He persisted.
"I told you already... we have nothing to talk out. Our ties are severed and...you are happy with her, so stop troubling me."
He held her hand to stop her again. "Madison.."
Asher felt his arm being gripped by another hand. He and Maddie turned to see who it was.
It was the guy who helped her earlier.
"She said she doesn't want to talk to you." The guy said, sending a glower at Asher.
"And who are you to meddle into our business?" Asher asked.
"Me? You don't need to know. Stop bothering her... if you want to remain a gentleman." The guy cautioned.
Asher scoffed and turned to Madison. "Is he your boyfriend? Oh...you started dating immediately you called the wedding off? What a slut!" He said so much... to her irritation.
Maddie slapped him immediately. It was a stinging slap and it soundly loudly.
"You slapped me?" Asher asked, unbelievingly.
"I'll slap you over again if you ever call me a slut. Asshole." Madison cursed angrily and left.

"I'll miss you granny." Maddie said sadly and hugged Lady Mariah. They were bringing out her travelling bags as she was prepared to leave.
"I'll miss you too child. Do not forget what I asked of you. Prepare his meals on time, do not touch his things without permission and, no matter what happens...do not leave, please. Logan requires lots of care, make sure he doesn't skip his meals. Please take care of him."
"Alright ma'am." Maddie said playfully and they laughed together.
Lady Mariah ascended the stairs to Logan's room.
She passed the second living room and knocked on his door.
"Come in." He said.
"My flight is in an hour so I'll be leaving now." She said politely.
There was no response. She suddenly felt a warm embrace. Logan hugged her.
"Extend my greetings to him." He said gently. Lady Mariah wrapped her arms around him.
"I will." She said.
After they broke the hug, Logan stretched out one of his precious white cotton handkerchiefs to her.
"You do this every year... you don't need to." She said but he didn't reply nor take back the handkerchief.
She had no choice but to collect it from him. "Please take care of yourself."
**TWO DAYS LATER
Madison prepared lunch and went up to serve it. She didn't know why but lunch wasn't on her master's food timetable.
So she prepared Chicken fried steak.
The room was dark..like it always was and she waited for him to ask why she came.
While waiting, a creepy object vibrated by her leg suddenly and flinched. She lost her balance and started falling.
Waiting for her butt to land roughly on the floor, but then nothing happened. She opened her eyes one by one to see what has happened. Then she realised the powerful grip around her waist.
She was lost for awhile. She didn't fall. Who was this person holding her? Peradventure... her master? Of course, there was no other person in the room except he and she.
She was stunned. Being close to her, his Cologne was strong and smelt nice. She couldn't see him in the dark but she could feel him.
"I'm letting go." His cold, deep voice broke the silence.
"Huh? No no no." Maddie said immediately and stood right, adjustingly.
Thankfully,the food didn't fall.
"I'm so sorry about that sir." She apologized.
"Why are you here?" Logan asked, moving away from her.
"I..brought lunch."
There was a pause. "Did anyone not tell you I don't eat lunch?" He asked.
Maddie was surprised. So lunch excluded itself from the timetable intentionally.
"I...didn't--"
"Drop it and leave." He said.
"But sir." She called. "Will you be okay? I mean... you don't have rashes now...or an upset stomach?" Maddie asked, picking her words.
A scoff like smirk appeared on Logan's lips. "Why do you think so?"
"Well...I heard you are allergic to people's touch." She said, picking her words again so as not to sound offensive.
Logan didn't reply. The lights turned on and he wasn't anywhere to be seen.
Then she sighted a round, black robot vacuum cleaner moving around on the floor. Geez...that was what caused the sudden flinch earlier. She shot a glare at the robot. 'You want me to lose my job? Crazy machine.'
...Logan's POV
I was uncalm for good minutes, trying to figure out...why my system didn't react to her touch.
Why did I even hold her? What was that feeling I felt when I realized she was falling? Passion. I had the passion to stop her from falling right then, and after I had physical contact with her, nothing happened.
It's so strange...I'm expected to throw up and fall sick but I'm in here, healthy and without any irritations.
"Xavier, I need you to come over..quickly!" Logan said uneasily.
"What? Is everything fine?"
"Just come over!" Logan said again... in a more authoritative tone.
...
"Are you okay? What is going on? I've been here for about 30 minutes and you haven't been saying anything." Xavier said, tiredly.
Just then Maddie came in to serve tea. When she left, Logan, who was relaxed all along leaned forward gently and unnoticed.
"Come closer." Logan said and Xavier did so.
Logan...hesitatingly touched Xavier's hand for just half a second and sprang up immediately and ran to the bathroom..to throw up.
He got really irritated. After vomiting almost out his lungs, he rinsed his mouth and walked into the bedroom.
"What was that?" Logan thought aloud.
"I should be asking you that. You willingly touched my hand and sprinted to the bathroom to puke? Aish.." Xavier said frustratedly.
"You are too loud... get out." Logan expressed coldly. He was frustrated and bewildered as it was and this one too is loud.
"I'll gladly do. My sweetest heart is probably waiting at a restaurant." Xavier said, trying to suppress his frustration and anger. He bowed and left.
"Airheaded Playboy." Logan mumbled and he jolted suddenly. His schedule!
*** AT L/N organizations
"Hmmm...I can't believe this seat belongs to us now." Vanessa said proudly as she stared at the President's seat in the glass walled office.
"Have your seat son, it's all yours now." She said, with a broad smile plastered on her face, making the slight wrinkles which were hidden behind her make-up, to be visible.
"Mom, you should sit first, you sacrificed so much for it." Lucas offered politely.
Vanessa's smile became more broader as soon as she heard those words.
She had strived hard to sit on that seat but never got there. So she decided to lift her son up to that place and now she has been given the honour to seat there first? Who was she to decline?
Gracefully, she walked up to the black leathered twirling chair and sat on it gently, before relaxing in.
She felt fulfilled.
She closed her eyes to feel whatever it is that she wanted to feel and her satisfactory smile never faded off.
Soon, she opened her eyes and motioned for Lucas to seat.
"Two business proposals will be coming in in the next few minutes. One from Mega corporations and the other from DÉ TORZ. Decline the one from Mega corporations, their vice president once talked back at me." There was a pause.
"I believe you know what's next on the list."
"Of course yes." Lucas replied.
Vanessa stood up and picked up her bag. Then she walked to the back of Lucas' seat and leaned in to whisper in his ear.
"If anyone serves as an obstacle, eliminate them." She said with a mischievous look and patted his hair.
"I'm leaving."
