Stalking back angrily, Klyde pushed his way between Vanessa and Kaine, forcing the latter to take a step back. At an impasse, the brothers stared at each other with hatred shining in their eyes. They looked more like enemies than brothers.
A small smile kicked up on Kaine’s cruel face as he glanced at the human and then at his brother, “You never learn, do you?” Lowering his voice, he leaned closer to Klyde and whispered, “You cannot have a weakness to be strong. And humans are merely a weakness. Remember your mother…a measly human…”
Klyde stepped forward, ready to attack Kaine when suddenly a loud piercing echoed through the room. “Kaleb!”
