Weekdays are always busy at R&L just like any other serious company with disciplined employees. Alexander was at R&L to oversee everything. It had been a week already since the lady boss was seen at the company. Reason? Alexander Morgan. Even after her pleas and reassurance that she was fine, Alex was still against her working in that state and had promised to make sure everything goes on well in the company.
That was why he was there.
As he made his way through the corridors of the ninth floor where the directors and Vice president's offices were, he had muffled voices from the office with the tag:
D.M
Vice President.
It seemed that an employee didn't do his or her work well and was being scolded. He shrugged and continued walking. Two steps later, something caught his attention.
"You expect me to still keep you around yet you can't take care of a single crashed car?"
Before he could listen more or even think about it, his phone was ringing.
He cursed under his breath before pressing the accept button.
"This better be something important." He addressed the person on the other end of the line. He was in a foul mood, anyone could tell that.
"What? I'm coming."
And just like that, Alexander Morgan left R&L.

Dario, after his last talk with Asher, realized he had to do something to prove to Laura and any other person that he was worthy of her love. He wanted to have something other than the name Anderson. That name Anderson had alot of power to it which he did not want to use to his benefit. He wanted to stand on his own.
That was the reason why he had decided to pay his old man a brief visit that morning.
He was a few steps from the study room door when he heard "handling the mechanic isn't that hard for us if we could handle the autopsy reports" from inside. His father was on a call and he seemed to be cleaning some dirt he was involved in. Him hearing that shouldn't have been surprising to him. He knew his father had some shady deals going on and it wasn't the first time he walked into such conversations.
But...
Why was it different?
Why did it feel so wrong?
Why did it sound so wrong?
And most importantly why was his heart-beating insanely.
He was contemplating whether or not to get inside. That has never happened to him before. Finally, he made a decision, he was just going to walk away and pretend he was never there.
"I know you are there, son. "
His father's voice brought him to a halt. He didn't know whether or not it was a good thing. It could be a good thing because of the possibilities of him getting answers but hell no! Fuck those answers. He didn't wanna hear anything. He didn't need confirmation on anything
"You should quit running away son. You know you are my heir."
Dario felt distate. Of course he knew that. He knew he was the fucking heir of all the Anderson businesses both legal and underworld. It's true he has been running from that responsibility. The idea of being a ruthless heir didn't sound good to him but he didn't want to argue with his father about that. He needed to leave that villa as soon as he could. So Dario only gave a tight-lipped smile.
"It's good you are here. You know words travel."
He tensed at that. He fucking knew that some lazy people would gossip with his dad about him being at R&L. He needed to talk his father out of any crazy idea running through his mind lest things turned ugly for the Williams.
"Good thing you know that."
Cold. That was how the first words he uttered to his old man came out.
"What do you mean?"
"Ray dies and the next thing we know is your right hand man being the Vice president. I thought you were smart but..."
"What's wrong with good will."
"Don't give me that good will shit right now dad!" He roared. That surprised his dad. His Dario who never raised his voice at him did.
For the first time.
And he was not even close to done.
"Williams and Anderson were rivals. Do you think people will interpret that as good will now that it is clear this was a planned accident."
His father was quiet.
"While planning was Blake also in the mix? Did you just use my brother in your schemes? Do you know how much your son is suffering right now? He cannot fucking sleep because of guilt and do you know what is worse?"
He stared blankly at his dad who was still shocked by this other side of Dario.
"The worse thing is he doesn't know that you fucking planned everything. The worse thing is Blake loves you the most. The worse thing is that he hates mum even though we all know that mum wasn't at fault."
He gave him one last look before "Don't come after us because if you do, I'll forget that you are my dad." and then he left.
He didn't mean to almost break ties with his dad. He didn't mean to say all those. God knows he had always wanted to say those to his dad even since he knew what he did to his mum. But that was not planned. Still it felt good.
He was free.
And he didn't give a damn about the fucking inheritance. He had always wanted to be free. To be independent. To stand on his own. To start his own business without being in his father's shadows. He hadn't found courage though until recently. That was what he had come to talk to his father about before things escalated.
He left with a plan.
Gaming company.
It could have been something to do with movie production which was always his dream.
But things changed.
Alot of things changed except money. Even his father knew that Blake and him were richer than him so breaking ties couldn't change their financial standing.
