Chapter 14 - The Next Incident

Lucy didn't see anyone nearby, so who just threw a snowball right at her head?

It was dark all around, making Lucy's vision a little less clear. She looked around for the source of the sound, it sounded like a twig being stepped on, but still, no one was around.

Lucy narrowed her eyes and strained her ears. Still can't see anything.

"Go out!" she orders. Time and again, Lucy glanced around. Still, she was alone in that place. It was silent and dark, with no sign of anyone nearby.

Feeling that no one was paying attention to her question, she rushed to her house. Tonight she just wanted to sleep well and peacefully. Don't want to be bothered by anything.

When she got home, she found no one inside. Makes Lucy wonder, where have they all gone?

"Mrs Windsor?" called Lucy to the woman in charge of looking after her grandfather until she returned from work.

Stay silent. It was as if she was the only one in the room. It was unusual for the house to be so quiet. Did Mrs. Windsor take her grandfather to her home, or where?

Lucy moved towards the living room. Usually, Mrs. Windsor would take her grandfather to watch television there, but just the same, there was no one.

Could it be that Grandpa had fallen asleep, and then Mrs. Windsor left him?

The doorbell rang, startling Lucy. It's midnight. Who would be visiting at this hour?

Lucy forgot about her Grandpa's troubles for a moment. Then, she returned to the living room and headed towards the door. Luch let out a sigh of relief when she saw Mrs. Windsor carrying Grandpa in a wheelchair. The two of them had just come from outside.

There was an uneasy feeling when Lucy found out that Grandpa and Mrs. Windsor were not at home because a moment ago, she had sensed something was wrong as she headed towards the house. She was confident, something was following her.

What it was, she couldn't be sure.

Incidents like this are frequent, almost three times a month. However, since strange events such as the rapidly changing seasons, then bizarre murders still do not know who the culprit is to this day.

If only her Grandpa could talk to her, she would ask this old man who always accompanied her.

"Thank God, I think you guys go to out nowhere," said Lucy as she ushered Mrs. Windsor and her Grandpa into the house.

Mrs. Windsor pushed her Grandfather's wheelchair into the living room while Mrs. Windsor headed towards the kitchen. A plastic wrapper was in her hand, and Lucy had no idea what the middle-aged woman was carrying.

"Mrs. Windsor, where are you from?" asked Lucy.

There was the sound of kitchen utensils clashing against each other. It seemed that Mrs. Windsor was preparing something for her and her Grandpa.

"Just going outside for a bit, your Grandpa just woke up an hour ago, and there are no groceries in the fridge. So I took him to the 24-hour food stall just down the road," Mrs. Windsor replied flatly.

Her voice as she spoke seemed different, uncharacteristically warm, and cheerful. Lucy didn't care,

Lucy's grandfather shook his head, his lips moving as if he wanted to say something to Lucy. His eyes were slightly rounded, and his brows furrowed. Who knows what her Grandpa tried to tell her.

For some reason, Lucy felt that Grandpa was like someone feeling scared.

"Grandpa, what's wrong? Why is your face like the someone who is scared, I can't understand what you wants to say to me," said Lucy as she gently rubbed Grandpa's face.

She was sure, her Grandpa wanted to tell her something, but the old man had difficulty speaking to her.

Mrs. Windsor had just finished heating the food in the microwave and was carrying it into the living room. Lucy saw Mrs. Windsor's face looked so tense. But, unlike usual, the old woman always looked cheerful and full of laughter.

"Earlier ... we saw a terrible incident when we were about to go to the diner. There was something that frightened Mr. Holmes, Lucy. I don't know if it was an accident or not, but it was crowded at the end of the road," explained Mrs. Windsor to Lucy. Answering what has been the cause of fear of Mr. Holmes—Lucy's grandfather—since earlier.

"Oh yeah, where did it happen?" asked Lucy.

"You know, as previously reported, a lot of things are hard to predict by common sense, Lucy. The man was hit, and many witnesses said that the man seemed to have deliberately rammed himself into the middle of the road, when the car was going very fast." Mrs. Windsor explained as plainly as possible.

Mr. Holmes nodded. Apparently, since earlier, he wanted to tell the problem?

Lucy had heard all the things that were reported and also told by word of mouth by the people,

Even at work, Lucy's co-workers are talking about it.

She don't want to believe it, but it all happened.

"Grandpa, since this incident happened I feel something else in me, can you explain it, Grandpa?"

Mr. Holmes bowed his head and could not explain well because his body condition did not allow him to move freely. If only his body could move freely, he wanted to tell Lucy that it was his job to stop all these strange happenings.

The legions of darkness have begun to spread, and one by one, the descendants of the knights of light will start to reveal their hidden powers.

That power will appear, over time, connected directly with the awakening of the dark power that is currently starting to spread.

Mrs. Windsor had been told by Mr. Holmes about her powers, only that Mrs. Windsor thought at the time that Mr. Holmes was joking with her.

That power will grow every day. Lucy herself was well aware of it.

"Mrs. Windsor," said Lucy. The old woman raised her head, and she was feeding Mr. Holmes.

"What's the matter, Lucy?"

"Is it possible that the dark power has started to rise like a hundred years ago? Isn't it said that the battle between the dark powers and the knights of light always takes place once every hundred years, where Lucifer tries to dominate humanity in sinful acts?"

Mrs. Windsor had a confused look on her face. She didn't know what to say to the girl. If she said 'yes,' she had never seen the legions or knights of the blessed light. So what answer can she give?

"If that's the case, then I'll have to find the rest, Mrs Windsor."

Looking for the rest?

It would make Lucy's head hurt. Only one person also has the ability like her, Nicholas! Then the rest, where should she look to be able to unite in the end?
