Chapter 27 - The Risk That Would Destroyer Everything

A day that ended with the deaths of many monsters.

"It seems that my abilities are still less than this! Maybe if the opponent was even more powerful I would be able to beat him much more seriously than this!"

The charioteer was nervous to be in front of the fire along with Azazel, for Koiga was now asleep.

The sound of snore sounded so clear.

"I wonder why he can still feel relieved at a time like this! There were still a few monsters about to attack, and he seemed to think that what had happened wasn't important! Does he really want to think that this matter is too simple to solve?"

Azazel then said, "I see that you are a coachman who was ordered to accompany that man! Do you feel comfortable continuing to be treated like this?"

He was silent for a moment, in his head he remembered all the events that had happened. "I actually don't want to do this job either, but I have no other choice! I have to do it to pay off my parents' debt!"

"You seem to have a lot of trouble with this, but is your life worth it?"

He was shocked to hear this. "I can't say it, the power I have isn't great! A lot of work, but not making much money, after I manage to raise money, I want to open a tavern that can earn for myself!"

"Hoo... good dreams! You've made a good move, but while you're doing this job don't push yourself too hard!"

"Okay!" He started to look at Azazel with a different look, he had been thinking that Azazel was someone who might kill at any time. "I wonder, why do you want to participate in carrying out this quest? Not many people want to do it, that quest has been 3 weeks and no adventurers are willing to do it!"

"Hmm… I just wanted to visit the location that that man was aiming for, but I didn't know the exact route so I chose to join this quest! I actually wonder, why is the path so dangerous, but you guys still want to go through it, isn't there another way that is much safer?"

"Yes, but Mr. Koiga suggested going through this area to shorten the time, previously we had taken a different route, and it took 1 month! Meanwhile, if you go through this route, you might be able to reach your destination in only 2 to 3 weeks!"

"It's not that much different, but it would be safer indeed! We've now walked for almost a week, so how much longer do we have to go?"

"We might be able to reach our destination in 3 or 5 days, depending on the conditions!"

"I understand! In that case, I will try to protect you according to the task I have taken on!"

That man saw Azazel like a savior, there was absolutely no aura of lies from those words.

Time goes back, the air is getting colder.

"Uh… is this a normal change? Yeah, it's the air pressure here that's too wet, and the effect of this mysterious fog is that the air is so cold! Shoheki!"

Azazel doesn't want to take risks, he knows that around the area there are still wild monsters lurking, since the killing intent they carry has been emitting, it's not a problem for Azazel to take action.

However, saving energy is something that must be done. He does not know how long the limit of his strength will continue to exist.

Azazel is looking for information to get rid of boredom, the book he found earlier became a friend.

"It seems that this note is based on the experience of those adventurers, the writer wrote it so observantly! But, unfortunately their lives are so fleeting!" Azazel remembered how he wanted to ask for death due to such bad conditions. "Tch… why do I have to remember that again? The life that goes on in this world is truly unimaginable!"

The atmosphere then returned on a sunny morning.

"Hoam…" Koiga rubbed his eyes a few times. "When do I have to continue to be in the forest like this, what a terrifying journey! Is it okay to leave everything to this man? He looks so dangerous, I'm sure he might want to kill me too!"

Right before their eyes another monster appeared, this time the undead.

"So creatures like this also inhabit here?"

"W-What the hell this...." Koiga got goosebumps and felt sick to see the faces of all the monsters that looked crushed. "What smell is this...."

And, in the midst of the many monsters, there was one stench that stabbed into the nose.

"Hooh… it seems that there are monsters far more powerful than I imagined, but it's really unfair that a monster like this doesn't have a leader! I think it's about time I gave these horrors to them…" Azazel unleashed an attack in the form of flames that shot up to devour all the monsters.

They could not survive the heat of the fire, but there was one that survived, that was a monster that had a different form. Its body emitted a foul odor, but it was also covered in white armor with a long sword.

"So you want to be my opponent now? Alright, you can come forward at any time to attack me!"

Azazel's attitude that seemed to have been condescending drew anger from the monster, then that monster ran away briefly.

Things...

Azazel's hand resisted the impact of that monster's sword, the pressure exerted by the two produced a spark of energy.

"Not bad...."

However, Azazel made a move that finally pushed that monster's body 3 meters away.

"Why? Did you want to give up? I still haven't finished fighting with you, why don't you take the fight with me even more seriously?"

A growl that the monster that continued its movement came towards Azazel. The movement used was fast enough that it surprised Azazel.

Things...

"Why does a monster like him have the ability to move quickly? Was he a high level undead? Yeah, that's right, you are a high-level undead!" Azazel has started to give off a seriousness so that he pushes that monster again.

However, this time Azazel didn't just stay silent, he came at that monster from behind.

"Kirisamu...."

Passing that monster with a slash that caused the monster's body to split in two, the stench from that monster's body spread out just like that.

"Urgh...."

The other two couldn't stand this.

Azazel used a barrier to protect them, he understood that this stench was a poison that would harm others. He acts according to what he thinks is right.
