Chapter 60 - ISSUE #60

M-Day!

" No More Mutants!" The Scarlet Witch Whispered. Her words echoed like a wave of destruction across the earth, severely crippling the mutants. While the rest of the planet was put back to where they were right before the House of M was created by Wanda. Almost everyone on the planet had their memories wiped of the event with a few select members.

" HAH!" Ian jumped up from his bed sweating profusely. " What the hell?!" Ian gasped. What's going on!?" Ian asked himself.

' Ian, Melody's jumping!' Emma told the boy telepathically.

" What?! FROST WHAT'S GOING ON?!" Ian asked in a panic.

' I'll tell you. Melody Guthrie just jumped off the roof. If you don't hurry, she'll die!' Emma exclaimed.

Ian burst out of his room and started running as fast as he could down the hall towards the nearest window.

' She's close!' Frost yelled.

" I'm going!" ian replied.

' IAN!!!' Emma yelled at the boy.

" I'M THERE!" Ian burst through the window, just in time to catch Melody, saving her from falling to her death, and landed on the Lawn's front yard in his underwear. " Miss Frost, I got her! What the hell's going on?!" Ian asked

He heard the screams ringing out across the entire mansion and wondered what the hell was going.

' I can't tell you! I need to focus!' Emma replied. " So, many voices! So, much pain! All at once!" Emma screamed. She was bleeding from her nose and mouth badly.

" AGH!" Ian could feel the psychic backlash coming off of Emma's mind and cringed a little from the pain. " WHAT THE HELL IS GOING?!"

" RUNT!" Logan yelled.

" Logan?! What's going on? I remember, fighting sunfire and then nothing! I was the leader of... The Brotherhood. I... I. Oh god!" Ian's memories from the event were all starting to flood back in and were overlapping with his own. His very mind was on the verge of a psychic meltdown.

" Kid, Breathe. You gotta breathe!" Logan told the boy.

" Logan, what the hell is happening?" Ian asked the man.

" The Scarlet Witch. She happened." Logan told the boy. " Listen to me, I need you to help me carry the students who are inured or sleep back in the building so we can get them checked out. Can you do that?" Logan asked.

Ian took a moment to catch his breath and nodded.

" Yeah... Yeah I can do that." Ian replied." I can do that."

" Okay, come on." Logan told the boy.

Ian nodded and followed, Logan inside, carrying Melody along the way.

" I'll take it from here son." Hank told the boy. he scooped Melody up from Ian's arms and scurried away.

" Dear god! What happened?" Ian asked.

He looked around at the crying students in fright.

" The Scarlet Witch! She said no more mutants... SHE SAID NO MORE MUTANTS!" Kitty exclaimed.

" Kitty, are you...?" Emma asked.

Kitty touched her hands together and they phased right through each other.

" I'm fine... I she?" Kitty asked as she looked down at Sofia.

" She fainted." Emma replied.

" Miss Frost... Is Sofia going to be, okay?" Laurie asked.

" She's fine... Everything's fine." Emma told the woman.

" But she's lost her powers." Laurie replied.

" Lost her powers?! What?" Ian asked.

" Calm down, Ian. You need to breathe." Scott told the boy.

" Breathe? I can barely think right now. I have so many memories.... GAH! And it feels like my head's going to explode." Ian exclaimed. he grabbed his head in pain and nearly dropped to his knees.

" It's okay, Ian. I've got you." Emma told the boy. She placed her hands on the boy's head and began helping him sort through what was real and what wasn't.

* BAMF!

" Kurt!" Scott exclaimed. " Are you alright?" Scott asked the man.

" Vhat is going on? How are ve here when ve vere just dere?" Kurt asked.

" Where were you?" Colossus in turn asked Kurt.

" What do you mean, where?" Ian asked. " How can you forget any of that?" Ian asked. " Why? Why is this happening?"

" I'll tell you when I can. For now. Just sit-down dear boy. Sit down and breathe." Emma told Ian. She guided him to the steps and placed him down softly.

" Emma, I was... I had... Oh god, my girls. Where.... Where are my girls? My family. Where's my family?" Ian asked.

" It wasn't real, Ian. None of it was real." Emma told the boy.

Ian continued taking deep shallow breaths. He grabbed at his chest, feeling it tighten extremely.

" Ian. Ian? Ian?!" Emma called out to the boy continuously, but Ian couldn't find the words to reply to the woman.

Ian began sweating profusely and his breaths became more and more ragged with each passing moment.

" IAN!" Emma yelled the boy's name, but he just couldn't speak.

Ian's eyes began to flutter and roll to the back of his head. His neck snapped back, and his body began convulsing on the stairs.

" Oh god, Ian!!" Emma yelled. She placed her hands on her head and called out to Hank telepathically. ' Hank! Ian's having a seizure. I need you back here now!' Emma told the man.

Beast quickly placed down Melody and then turned and bolted out of his lab, running as fast as he could back up the stairs, and into the main hall.

" Let me see him." Hank exclaimed. Emma moved out of the way and Hank placed his paw on the back of Ian's head to support him. He then used his other hand and tore Ian's shirt off, giving him better room to breathe. And there he sat with the boy until finally his body began to relax and Ian finally took a deep breath. " Easy boy. Easy." Hank spoke, he gently helped Ian to his feet.

Though his body had relaxed, Ian's mind was still all over the place.

" Wha... Wha... What i-i-is going on?" Ian stuttered. Ian couldn't find a way to wrap his mind around what had happened. Even with Emma helping him place memories aside.

" The Scarlet Witch depowered, so many of us." Scott told the boy. " She used her powers to create a fake world and then she used her powers to strip almost everyone in the school of their powers." Scott explained.

" But... Why would she do that?" Ian asked.

" Because she could. Because she thought she knew what was best." Scott exclaimed. He was angry. Far more than he had ever been before. They all were.

" Ian, I need to go check on the others. Are you okay, now?" Emma asked.

" Yes..." Ian said, taking a few more deep breaths to help calm his nerves. " I'm fine. Go." Ian told the woman.

Emma took off running down the hall towards Cerebra, once there she sat down in the chair and placed the helmet over her head and began searching for mutants across the planet.

" Please no. Please no..." Emma begged. She tried desperately to find the Mutants on the planet. But when she opened her eyes the only thing there were tears.

" Emma, is that--?"Scott asked the woman as he and Hank walked in on Emma.

" Scott, Cerebra was created to locate Mutant activity all over the world." Emma told the man.

" I've been here since I was fourteen. I know what cereb--"

" I'm telling you-- It's on full power!" Emma told Scott. " This- This right now. This is all the Mutants on the planet." Emma told the man.

" Jesus." Scott exclaimed.

" There were, tens of thousands." Hank stated.

" A million maybe." Scott spoke.

" Not anymore." Emma told the two men.

" Are they dead?" Scott asked.

" No, not as far as I can tell. Not just Mutants, anymore." Emma explained to the two men. " I- I tried to stop her." Emma spoke.

" Where's Wanda Maximoff?" Scott asked.

" I don't see her." Emma replied. " I don't see anyone."

" Xavier!" Hank exclaimed. " Emma!! Find Xavier!"

" He's not..." Emma muttered.

" He's not what?" Scott asked.

" I don't know. I just don't know anymore." Emma cried.

Scott and Hank looked on at the Cerebra screen. What used to be filled with millions of signatures signaling the rise of the Mutant race, now dwindled down to a handful. The time of the Mutants is over. Now it's time for Decimation.
