Chapter 61 - The Tabloids

"I was still going over to his place for the fake tuition, and one day, Jake showed up during tuition hour. He said he didn't want to be tutored and asked us to talk over a few drinks. I refused, and he was so heartbroken that I thought, what is the harm? It's not even office hours, right?"

"So we started drinking, and I wanted more and more. I requested that we move from the living room so his father wouldn't find us because I knew what I was doing was wrong, yet there was some thrill in it, and I couldn't just stop. He smirked and suggested his bedroom, and honestly, I was too drunk to argue with him."

"So, are you blaming alcohol for what happened next?" The cops asked in a sarcastic tone, and Victoria felt cold all over her body.

"I'll admit I have a problem with alcohol. I can never stop drinking once I start, but I don't blame it for what I did. When Jake started unbuttoning, I tried stopping him, but he moved closer to the already weak me and asked if he was any different from his dad," Victoria slowly narrated as she thought back to how shocked she had been when he mentioned that.

"I know about it. There is a room upstairs where I hide away from the world. I was there once, and I came down to see what was happening. I can make you feel the same way, perhaps much better since I'm younger and stronger," Jake said, kneeling before her and leading her hands to his erect manhood.

He saw her swallow saliva, and that made him slowly lift her dress.

She felt his warm hands against her body as they slowly moved to her pants and slid them aside.

She crumbled to him, and in between her moans, Adam entered the house.

"That's it. Adam made sure I lost my job after that, and he even tricked Max into making a wrong investment. He wants to revenge, and I know he used Travis to make me feel how he felt when I was with Jake. Now that I have said everything does necessary. Bring that bastard to book, and don't let him off the hook." Victoria said as she wiped away the dry tears from her cheeks.

She had cried a river and was sure that she would never cry that much again. But… Only time will tell.

Vera heavily sighed as she stepped on the car brakes suddenly, and the car came to a screeching halt in the parking lot of Stacy's office.

She unfastened her seat belt and rushed out of the car into the building where Stacy's office was.

As she walked into the lifts, she felt sick with worry about why Stacy had summoned her urgently.

"I came as soon as I could," she said as she walked into Stacy's office, whose door was wide open.

Stacy's desk was upside down, and her machine was lying on the floor, broken into pieces.

Most of the studio equipment was missing, and the room looked like a mess, to say the least.

"Oh my goodness, Stacy!" Vera exclaimed in horror after taking in the state before her.

Stacy was sited in one corner of the room, holding her knees close to her chest and looking down as she fought back the tears that were threatening to flow down her face.

"I don't even know what to do or where to start," Stacy answered back in a voice bordering on desperation, and Vera swiftly moved to hug her and console her.

"It's them, right?' Vera asked as she thought of the Jacksons, and she felt Stacy nod slowly.

"They did it to stop me from posting about them, and it looks like they succeeded. I have nothing, Vera." Stacy said in a low voice.

"But how did they get in here? This building is among the safest in this neighborhood. What of the CCTV cameras? Are they functional? We can…" Vera asked in a rush, and Stacy found herself chuckling.

"What's funny?" Vera asked in an alarmed voice as she slowly let go of Stacy to look her in the eyes.

"You're really going to ask after what you did the other day?" Stacy asked, and Vera's heart skipped a bit.

Did Stacy know what she had done?

Stacy cleared her throat and held Vera on the shoulders as she looked her directly in the eye.
