Loud footsteps approached. A strong scent of perfume could be smelled from the main gate of the campus.
Students chatter slowly died down, and almost everyone turned to the entrance of the dining hall to look for themselves who it was.
Chloe waited with bated breath to see for herself, who had commanded attention as only she did, and she was murmuring a small prayer that it wasn't Steph because if it was, she would lose it.
The lady walked into the dining hall, dressed in a white tank top and floral pants with 6-inch-high heels. Her nails were well manicured, her hair was held in a bun, and she wore a black cap and was looking down, making it hard for the students, who had stopped eating, to look at her and recognize her.
"Who the hell are you?" Chloe asked in a loud voice, and the lady walked towards the direction the voice came from. Her face down all the while. "Do you have the guts to show your ugly face to us?" Chloe shouted, and the lady scoffed.
"Why can't you stop barking since I'm not looking for you?" The lady asked as she slowly removed her cap.
"She's so pretty," some male students said, and the lady smirked as she winked at Chloe and gave her a thumbs up.
She looked around the dining hall, her head held up in confidence, and shouted," Where is he? Where the hell is Ivan?"
"Hold on! Who the hell are you? Did you not hear my question?" Chloe asked, feeling angry and embarrassed that for the umpteenth time since Steph's entry into her life, she had started losing the respect she commanded from the students.
"S*it! you're so nagging. By the way, I am not one of the students on this filthy campus, so you can't tell me anything,"
There was a loud uproar from the students, and Chloe found herself looking at Janely for some help, but without batting an eyelid, Janely turned away. Rina's efforts to patch up things between the two hadn't borne any fruits, as they were both too egoistic to admit they were in the wrong.
"If it will make you sleep tonight, then I'll tell you my name. I'm Vera Morgan," Vera said, and the other students broke into a loud fit of laughter.
"Savage," some shouted.
"Ok but why are you looking for Ivan?" Chloe managed to ask, and Vera answered by simply holding her stomach and looking at it adorably, an act that brought more confusion than answers.
Chloe's eyes widened in shock, her mouth flew open, and color drained from her face making her look pale all of a sudden.
"What the hell are you saying?" Chloe said in a dismissive voice as she held her head which had an started throbbing, the pain almost becoming unbearable.
"You really like poking your nose everywhere," Vera answered as she clicked her tongue in disgust.
"What the hell?" Chloe shouted as she pushed her chair away and started walking towards Vera, her eyes solely on Vera's face. It almost seemed as though she had an irresistible urge to deform Vera's face.
"What did you say? You're not talking to me like that, right?" She slowly asked.
"I haven't said anything you scumbag," Vera answered calmly and shrugged before adding,"I don't have to tell you my s*it! Do you know where he is? I have an important message for him,"
Chloe slowly shook her head and her fellow students couldn't believe she had swallowed the humble pie.
"Beats me. He hasn't been in school since forever. He isn't answering my calls also, yet I'm his girlfriend. Who does that?" Chloe asked in a dejected voice. She had also felt the need to kind of mark territories by letting Vera know Ivan was hers.
"Okay," Vera said and turned to walk away without saying another word. Chloe looked at her receding figure and shook her head in disbelief. She didn't believe Vera's act of innocence, yet she also found it difficult to believe that Vera could be so calm if she was in a relationship with Ivan.

"Is everything okay? Where are you now?" Kevin whispered into the phone. He was in the changing room and was talking to Ivan.
"It's all fine," Ivan said as he scratched his head and paced up and down the corridor.
"You don't sound fine," Kevin went on, and he heard a heavy sigh from Ivan before he answered, "I'm at my father's office waiting for him. I urgently need to talk to him, but he insists he is held up. I can't just believe it,"
"Maybe what he is doing is important," Kevin reasoned lamely, and Ivan scoffed before saying, "So am I. I'm his son, so he shouldn't keep me waiting,"
"You're not the boss," Kevin said as he laughed, and Ivan joined in.
"That aside, what happened?"
"Nothing," Kevin answered quickly, and Ivan chuckled softly before saying, "I can hear it in your head, so just say it. Did Chloe carjack you? I know she is a crazy b*tch."
