Damien was glad that he was in the presence of his brother, nothing could have mattered more to him after being in that horrible place for five days.
His brothers have decided to have their breakfast at his chamber - well except from Ivo who gave an excuse, as always. Damien was actually glad that he was not present, at least now his utterance wouldn't be supervised.
Because the chamber was not in a dining setting, each of the brothers sat wherever that pleased them, but they was a table with different set of foods in front of them.
"I still can't believe I missed Zander's ceremony" Damien said.
"Believe it. And be glad, because Zander wasn't even in attendance in his own ceremony" Theo informed.
"He wasn't?" Damien asked surprised.
"Aye. Kal what other word can I use for Zander's disappearance that night" Theo asked the god of portals who's eyes was stuck to the book that he held in front of him. Kal was fond of reading while he ate.
"Ghosted" he answered, without looking away from his book.
"Precisely, Zander ghosted his ceremony" Theo said.
"You know that I can hear you right?" Zander asked, because they were talking about him as if he was absent.
"I'm well aware" Theo said with a smile.
"Zander, why would you ghost your ceremony?" Damien asked.
"The gripping effect of boredom" Zander answered.
"I'm only left to wonder what father's countenance would be like" Damien said.
Zander stood on his feet, "You do not want to know" he said as he came to Damien.
"Don't forget to rest" he reminded, Damien nodded in response. Before the lord impaler excused himself.
Damien glanced at Raphael and whispered to Theo, "Why is Raphael so quiet?"
"Tell me about it" Theo agreed as a picked up a pillow and threw it at the god of multiple weapons.
Raphael jerked when the pillow came in contact with his face.
"Why are you so quiet?" Theo asked him.
"Give me one good reason as to why you threw this pillow at me" Raphael said.
"Isn't it obvious, you were staring into space, like you were thinking of something" Theo informed.
"Or someone" Kal added, as he finally looked away from his book.
"Exactly, see even Kal gets it" Theo said.
Raphael tossed the pillow aside. "Well, you are not wrong." he said.
"So tell me, who is that goddess that has joined the list of your devoured goddesses" Theo said as he dropped his fork. They were already done eating, but yet still they was still a huge load of dishes left untouched.
"You make me sound like a bad brute if you say it like that" Raphael said as he continuously tossed up a certain red apple.
"Aren't you?" Theo asked sarcastically.
"Blame it on my illecebrous nature" the second prince replied.
"Raphael, don't you have training with the Red Draconians this morn?" Kal reminded as he finally closed his book.
"I do, and I'm actually having second thoughts about going" he said with a sigh. Raphael was the commanding general of the Red Draconians (Axis Mundi's armies). Some gods have commented that he was too relaxed and jesting for the position. But yet still his martial arts abilities has made those gods think again.
"Add laziness to his field of expertise" Kal told Theo with a smile.
"Well said" Theo added.
"I'm growing weary, not lazy" Raphael said as he stood on his feet and so did Kal - he too had some business to attend to.
"Raph, can I go to the turret?" Damien asked with an adorable smile. Amongst the four of them present Raphael was the oldest - he was a score and eight, while Kal was a score and seven so Damien practically needs to ask for his permission before indulging in anything.
"Is that smile suppose to coax me?" Raphael asked and the sixth prince nodded.
"Well, it didn't work and you can't go" Raphael answered with a smile.
"Why not?" Damien asked, slightly disappointed.
"I do not want an earful from mother, isn't it obvious?" Raphael said. He knew that Damien was disappointed, but their mother was a hard goddess to deal with.
"Now, now Damien don't pout" Kal said as he walked up him. "You know that mother wouldn't like the idea of you being at the turret. Her and Zander don't really get along" the third prince said.
"I'm aware" Damien said with a defeated voice.
"Alright then. Read this, you will feel much better" Kal handed to him the book.
Damien collected it with a faint smile and then he and Raphael left the chamber. Kal has always thought that reading books can solve anything, but Damien thought otherwise.
"Sucks being the youngest, doesn't it?" Theo asked.
Damien kept the book beside him, "You have no idea" he replied.
"Umm-hmm" Theo hummed, as he took out his black gloves from his inner jacket.
"Do you still wear those?" Damien asked.
"They keep my powers in check" Theo replied as he started to wear them.
"More like they hinder your powers" Damien said. Theo was a memorist - the god of memories, and whenever he touches someone he gains assess to every of their memory. Theo felt reluctant about his power, ever since he had that secret conversation with the queen. None of his brothers knew what their mother had told him about his powers, and he has refused to tell anyone - even his brothers have grown tried of asking him.
"It's for the best" Theo said as he looked up to Damien.
