AZTLAN.
Aurora walked out of her cottage with a smile on her face - that morning was cool as usual, with a heavy dew. But nevertheless Aurora loved it, anyone that lives in Aztlan have gotten used to the weather condition.
She picked up a wood bucket, and went to the back of the cottage, where the cow that Annika and Amberly has brought for her last season was.
She patted the cow softly, "Good morning, Bella" she said as she placed the bucket underneath the cow.
"You named the cow?" a certain voice asked from behind.
Aurora turned only to see two familiar ghosts. She sighed and said, "I thought I told you two to stop following me."
"Well, we can't" one of the ghost said.
"Why?" Aurora asked.
"Because you are the only friend we have" the other added.
"I see." Aurora said. Ever since she was a child, she has been seeing dead people walking around the village. She would always run and hide - even though the ghosts meant no harm, but all she knew then was that they were dead and a bit scary looking. But now she has gotten used to seeing them, as a matter of fact she talks to them now.
Those two ghosts that came to her were the Maini twins, Aurora heard that they drowned at the river. And since then they have been coming to Aurora's cottage, because they were aware that Aurora could see them, even though they didn't know why. And for them it was nice having a real, living person at your company, even if it is the cursed lass.
Aurora bent down and started to milk the cow. But the milk came out in droplets, which was rather odd.
"Aurora, can we speak with you?" one of them asked.
"I am really busy" she replied, still milking the cow.
"It's just that we need your help" the other one added.
"What do you need my help for?" Aurora asked staring at the small amount of milk that was in the bucket.
"We have been hiding from the grim reaper, for months now." the ghost informed.
Aurora stood up to look at them, "But why?"
"We don't want him to take us away" they chorused.
"You are dead, and the grim reaper takes dead people away - I think" she said awkwardly. She wasn't sure of what she was saying, but she had to say something at least.
"We still have some unfinished business here" the ghost informed.
"We need more time, that's why we want you to talk to the grim reaper for us" the other one added.
"Talk to who?" Aurora asked.
"The grim reaper." they answered.
"Absolutely not" she stated.
"But, you are the only living person that can see him" the ghost said.
"So? What if I turn dead when I speak to him. And I do not wish to die yet" Aurora told them.
"You are not going to die, the grim reaper takes dead people, he does not kill" they explained.
Aurora shook her head, "Nay. Besides I don't want any trouble" she said and turned back to her cow.
The ghosts looked at each other, and suddenly they disappeared as if being chased.
"I'm sorry, but I can't help you" Aurora said as she was about to continue on her job, but when she didn't hear any reply. She turned only for her to startled with fear by what was infront of her. She lost her balance and fell on the ground.
"Aurora Ashtin. The girl that can see the unseen." a tall, dark clothed being said as he walked closer to her. The grim reaper crouched in front of her. He removed the heavy black hood of his cloak away from his face.
"I wonder how that's possible" he said, studying her closely.
Aurora didn't want to look at his face, but somehow she did. And with all the courage she had, she asked "What do you want from me?"
"What do I want from you?" he repeated with a chuckle. "That is a funny question."
"I don't find it funny" Aurora replied.
The grim reaper raised his brow, "For such a little human, you have quite the boldness. I must admit it's impressive" he said, and continued. "But anyway. I have been searching for a certain dead twins, now I know that you can see ghosts, and I'm also aware that those ghosts know that you can see them. So I'll ask you this, human girl, where are the twins?"
"I don't know" she answered innocently with her tiny voice.
"Do not act cute with me" the reaper said. No one could deny the fact that Aurora was an adorable little thing, with her wee size, big doe eyes and well shaped red lips.
"I wasn't acting cute" she said, only for the reaper to move closer. Aurora leaned backwards a bit - the aura from the grim reaper was very dark, gloomy, cold and forbidden.
"Let's try this again, Aurora. I hate collecting souls that are not willing to be collected. So, when those twins comes to you again. I want you to tell them to stop running" he said.
"W-what if they refuse" Aurora said.
"They will know better not to" He said finally before he raised to his feet.
"And...that cow is dying" he informed before he vanished into thin air.
"Dying?" Aurora repeated as she turned to look at the cow with a sad face. "Bella is that true? You can't die on me, at least not now" she said, only for the cow to moo at her.
She hugged the neck of the cow, "Oh Bella, what would I do without you?" she asked with a sigh of frustration.
