Chapter 13 - Victory

System Announcement: Congratulations to Ash Knight, MilkTeaLover, MysticSlayer, PandaHero and Snowman for being the first team to defeat Xue Ying, the Master of the Snow Mountain Sect.

They did it.

Once again, Lucas had led his team to victory and made it to the rankings. There was a mixture of booing and cheering in the Internet cafe.

"That was bloody close. How much HP did you have left?" PandaHero was curious to know.

MilkTeaLover: He had 10 HP left after the boss delivered the third blow….I was holding my breath.

"10 HP…how much HP do you actually have?"

"The last time I saw, he has like 3 million HP…" MysticSlayer exposed his stats. "I don't know what he did to increase his HP. I know his Defence is high too…"

MilkTeaLover: As a Healer, I feel deeply ashamed now. I only have about 2 million HP.

Snowman, however, was concerned about something else, "Guys, what do you think the reward will be? I've yet to open it!"

As the first team to slay the new Dungeon boss, they had a feeling it would be something good. A rare weapon, perhaps? A new martial arts manual that they can use to acquire new skills?

Whoever was up playing Dreams of Jianghu that night was dumbfounded when they saw this system announcement.

Till now, there had only been four tiers of weapons and armor in the game:

Blue - the default equipment for beginners (which were as good as useless)

Purple - novice equipment that can be obtained through completing missions

Orange - a slightly rarer tier of equipment that can be purchased with Silver Leaves, forged using materials or obtained in the game

Red - the rarest equipment that can be forged using expensive materials or obtained through Dungeons

"Royal" was an entirely new term in the game.

[Congratulations to PandaHero for obtaining the Royal Necklace from Secrets of the Snow Mountain Dungeon.]

One by one, Lucas' teammates opened their rewards and flooded the system with a series of announcements.

"WOW, the stats of my Royal Necklace is awesome! Is this the new weapon tier?" PandaHero was overjoyed. Soon, many curious players who wanted to know what was going on flooded the public chat channel.

"Why wasn't there any announcement about a new weapon tier?"

"Ash Knight, let us have a look at your Royal Sword!"

"Tell us how you finished the boss, we keep dying."

"No fair, Ash Knight ALWAYS gets the good stuff."

System Announcement: Beginning today, a new tier of weapon and armor can be obtained. Check out the News section for details!

"Perhaps the developers wanted to create the element of surprise and let the players generate some hype about their new Royal tier of equipment first," Lucas concluded that it was a gimmick the developers were using to keep the game going so players wouldn't feel bored.

"Everyone, equip your new Royal equipment! We should take a photo in the game to remember this victorious day!" PandaHero was over the moon.

Lucas glanced at his Red Sword, he wasn't ready to part with it. The weapon had been his loyal mate accompanying all his battles. He even customized a keychain to look exactly like the sword. He whispered to the sword, "You take a rest for now."

Swapping his Red Sword for the Royal Sword, he was immediately taken in by the delicate features. The golden grip was embellished with jewels and the blade was engraved with oriental carvings.

"That's so cool!" PandaHero and the others were full of admiration for his sword. Although they had Royal equipment too, Lucas's sword was outstanding compared to theirs.

Against the backdrop of the snow mountain, they took a photo to commemorate this special day. To them, it was probably the celebration of another victory but for Lucas, it meant more than that.

It was another day when everyone in Dreams of Jianghu remembered Ash Knight created miracles once again. It was a day when he lived a life entirely different from his ugly reality. The moment he stepped out of this Internet cafe, he would become the outcast elite, a nobody. But before anyone finds out that the legendary Ash Knight and his friend MysticSlayer had been sitting here all along, they'd better run.
