After the first meeting, Aneesha didn't lock the door anymore. Sriya was always welcomed into her room. To Sriya's surprise, Anesha has a clean and organized room. The aesthetic of her room is very elegant with the color of grey and white. There was a very clear difference between the world inside the room and outside the room. Sriya was amazed by the decoration of the room.
"We can color according to our choice? The owner won't object?" Sriya asked.
"My father is the owner," Aneesha replied.
"Wow! So you're from a rich family." Sriya said. After saying it she noticed the cloth that Aneesha was wearing. It was from Bewakoof, the pant was from Roadster. Then her eye fell on the shoe stand. It had only two shoes and a slider which was from Allensoly. The shoes are from HRX. She understood that Aneesha isn't someone who likes to show off her wealth.
"If you want then you can also paint your room according to choice," Aneesha replied to break down the silence.
"No. It's fine. I'm lazy. After spending the tiresome working hours all I need is rest." Sriya said with a smile. Sriya thought that Aneesha isn't as bad as he thought and the little messiness and the unhealthy habit that Aneesha has Sriya can help her change it. She was thankful that she didn't miss the opportunity to make a new friend and after that ice-breaking segment with Aneesha, they became very good friends. Sriya loves to talk with Aneesha coz she never commented on anything Sriya said, no matter how silly may it is or how serious may it be Aneesha will always listen to her with her full attention. Sriya shared her life in her office and her everyday problems with her. Aneesha would listen silently without any comment. She would only talk when Sriya would ask her anything. Sometimes it bothered Sriya how stoic Aneesha's reaction is. It was like even if Sriya is feeling sad instead of consoling her Aneesha would explain the situation to Sriya in a logical way. Like once Sriya was feeling down coz her boss scolded her without her fault instead of saying that the boss is wrong Aneesha asked more about the incident and finally said a logical way how to prevent getting scolded by the boss unnecessarily. Although her solutions are good and helped Sriya many times in preventing the upcoming disaster but sometime Sriya doesn't want the solution, sometimes all she wanted was to listen and that everything will be alright. That never came out of Aneesha's mouth but Sriya didn't complain as it was only a few months with Aneesha. She was afraid she would lock her door again and never come out. So she silenced her heart and went according to Aneesha. Sriya also noticed that Aneesha doesn't like to talk about herself. If Sriya asks anything about her she keeps her answer short and always replies in a way that would end the conversation. So Sriya knew very little about her like she is a 28-year-old girl who works as a coder under an XZ gaming company and her company allowed her to work from home. She was impressed by Aneesha's intelligence when she knew that she is working under XZ Company, as it is a topmost gaming company to which most of the IT sector personnel want to go but the selection system is so tough and only 2 people are selected as coder every year. Sriya understood that Aneesha is a beauty with a brain and because of the work-from-home arrangement she doesn't need to go outside. Although Aneesha has a glorious professional life Sriya still feels something's wrong with her. She doesn't know anything about Aneesha's personal life. She fears the outcome of questioning Aneesha's personal life. So she doesn't ask Aneesha anything personal.
Slowly Aneesha stopped ordering food as Sriya started to make food for her every time. They even started to eat together. When Sriya first saw the locked room she thought that her roommate is extremely introverted but now she has doubts about that conclusion. Except for the reluctance to share her personal life and not showing any emotion Aneesha seems perfectly fine with getting along with new people, she would even go to the market with her. Then why did she lock herself in the room for all these days? Sriya always wanted to ask this but she is yet not sure where the boundary stands. So she remains silent.
One day Sriya's mother got severely ill. Sriya was very sad because of it. When she shared this with Aneesha, she asked about her mother's illness in a nonchalant voice. Sriya couldn't take it anymore. "Are you even human? Don't you feel anything? My mother is in hospital. I don't know what will happen to her. How can you say everything like you don't care? Don't you feel sad for me? Don't you care about me?" Sriya said with tears and stormed out of the room to get some fresh air. Aneesha heard every complaint of her and then went back to playing a game as if nothing happened. After half an hour Sriya came back. This time she didn't go to Aneesha. That also didn't affect her. Aneesha saw when Sriya entered the apartment. She also saw her going straight to her room. The entire time she just stayed in her room without any sign of going to Sriya's room. Finally, when the clock showed 11:00 PM revealing her sleeping hour, she locked her room again.
It's been months since Aneesha had closed her door. Their relationship came back to square1. At first, Sriya felt like she was wronged. She should be the angry one. She should be the one who needs coaxing not the other way around but not talking to her witty roommate for 1 month made her think everything differently. Yes, indeed, Aneesha never showed any kind of emotion in any situation but her solutions were always helpful. She never tried to take advantage of her or never tried to put her in danger. So maybe she overreacted to her mother being sick in the hospital. After all this thinking Sriya went to Aneesha to make her open her door again but when she stood in front of her door she thought of all the possibilities that could happen after her knock. Maybe Aneesha is angry after her sudden outburst and will not want to be her friend anymore. While standing there and thinking of all the scenarios that could happen she had unintentionally ignored the click of the room door. When Sriya saw Aneesha standing in front of her, all of the sudden she didn't know what she would say until she heard Aneesha
"Want to come in?" Aneesha asked with her all-time nonchalant voice. Sriya entered her room. Then Aneesha went to bring her food as if nothing had happened.
After she returned with her food Sriya asked "Why did you again lock yourself in your room and started ordering food?" Her voice had a mix of anger and sadness.
"Didn't you want me to?" Aneesha asked. She was looking directly at her with empty eyes. Sriya felt exhausted. So she asked, "Don't you have emotion?"
"No, I don't have," Aneesha said nonchalantly while arranging her food to eat. Sriya was a bit taken aback by her answer. So she asked, "Did I offend you with my question?"
Aneesha said "I really can't feel many emotions or can't interpret others' emotions because of my medical condition. So no, you didn't offend me. That's what I'm."
Sriya was a bit shocked by this unexpected answer. "What medical condition?" She asked.
"I had my Amygdala removed for the treatment of my bipolar disorder," Aneesha said.
"What is that?" Sriya asked in confusion
"That's a part of the brain," Aneesha said.
"So you don't have a proper brain," Sriya asked. A normal would have laughed at this sentence or might have thought it was funny but Aneesha did none of it.
"You can say that," Aneesha said getting ready to eat. She was cool about it like she was talking about giving her dress to others but Sriya finally got the answer to many of her questions.
