Chapter 3 - Beginning of Ragnarok

On hearing this, Yin immediately stood up. The time for sadness and mourning was over, it was now time to act, or die. He quickly put Ken over his shoulders with the help of Evlin. The size difference between the two was massive.

One was a 21-year-old fully grown man who stood at 6'1 ft. weighing around 200 pounds, and the other was a 13-year-old kid who was 4'11 and weighed only barely 100 pounds. However, in spite of that, Yin used the strength that he had cultivated over the years of hunting and stood his ground.

With Ken on his back, Yin started to run as fast as he could out of the room they were in, with Evlin following behind. On reaching the outside of the orphanage, he promptly whistled. This was a sign for the kids in the orphanage to follow Yin. It was like a safety procedure, already practiced multiple times before.

Yin didn't have time to wait, so as soon as he saw kids running out of the orphanage, he started to run as well. Some were holding their younger siblings who were able to walk yet, crying and still traumatized.

Yin knew that they had blown the horn near the village center, it was the place where sound traveled the farthest, so he decided to lead the kids in the opposite direction. Right now, he was only being realistic, he didn't let any emotions into his head.

As he ran, he looked to the side and could see hundreds of knights on horses through the alleyways of houses. Thankfully, they were far enough to not be spotted by the knights.

"Do not resist! Become captured without any problems! If you refuse to do so, you will be decapitated by the decree of the Reinharald kingdom!"

The battle horn sounded as a loud voice rang throughout the village.

Yin and the kids were nearly out of the village now, they were to leave from the entrance which was opposite the village center. As they neared the gates, they started to hear distant screaming.

Some of the kids stopped running, as they had lost all hope, and were too tired to continue, and fell to the floor, tears falling down their expressionless faces.

'Damn it! They are started to kill people now. Damn it! Damn it! I can't risk the lives of the rest of the group to save those who have fallen behind. What choice do I have?' Yin thought to himself as he ran.

"Tengen!" Yin yelled, looking back over his shoulder.

He looked at a kid who was about his age but looked large enough to be 16. His muscles were very advanced for his young age.

"Yes! Yin!" Tengen said as he quickly ran up to the front of the group next to Yin.

"Carry Ken on your back and lead everyone outside of the gates, I'll rescue the kids who have fallen behind!" Yin said quickly as he transferred Ken over to Tengen's shoulders.

"Yin! Are you sure!?" Tengen yelled, not completely sure as to what Yin was thinking.

"Yes! Just go!" Yin yelled as he started to run opposite the crowd.

As the group of kids made it through the back gates, Yin made it to the fallen kids. They were aged 4-6, about 3 of them scattered around.

"It's okay little guys. Don't be scared. It will all be okay." He said as he carried the three in his arms and started racing back towards the group.

He was about 200 meters away from the group, who had already made it through the gates and were nearing the bushes of the wild jungle.

However, just then, Yin saw something weird in front of the group, coming from the jungle. He couldn't exactly make out what the multiples of weird shapes were, but he knew they weren't natural.

"Hey... Hey! Everyone stop! Wait! Don't go into th-" Yin's voice stopped working due to what he saw.

It felt as though the entire world had slowed down for a moment.

Tens of knights on horses could be seen walking out of the jungle, exactly towards the group of kids.

The blonde-haired royal from that day was also present, this time wearing knight's armor as well.

'It can't be.' Yin thought to himself in disbelief.

"Capture them all alive!" The blonde-haired young royal said as the knights quickly fired a large net out of a gun, encompassing all of the kids immediately.

"No! Fuck!" Yin didn't know what to do. Should he go and try and save the group, or should he escape with the few he had in his hands? After all, going to the group right now seemed like blatant suicide.

However, what was the point of living if not for his friends?

He had not been seen yet, so he quickly went inside a house and dropped the three kids there.

"I will always remember you three. Even if you were to die, you will always live on in my memories." He said to them as he closed the door behind him.

The three immediately cried and screamed to be let out. To be saved. Little did they know, this was the best Yin could do.

Although his mind was overbearing with so many thoughts, he ran over to the group without thinking.

As he neared the gate, the knights saw him running towards them.

"What's this? A kid's coming to us instead of running? Haha... hahaha! What a fool!"

"He is literally running to his own death. How ironic could this be!"

As Yin exited the gates, he saw all of his friends inside the net. However, they all seemed to be sound asleep.

'A sleeping drug.'

Yin immediately covered his mouth and nose with his long hair.

"Blonde hair!" He yelled, bravely walking over to the knights. He looked fearless and determined, however on the inside, he was extremely frightened.

This would be nerve-racking, even for Achilles. He could feel his heart pounding at a million miles per second, and his body shivering slightly due to the cold fear in his spine.

"He's covering his breathing. A smart one it seems."

"What did he say? Blonde hair? Is the talking about th-"

The blonde-haired royal walked his horse out of the crowd of knights.

"My name is Arthur." He said, looking directly at Yin.

As Yin saw the royal, rage enveloped deep inside of his soul.

'This was the mother fucker who made Ken reach the state he is in.' Yin thought to himself as he glowered at the royal full of anger.

"Arthur. Fight me!" Yin yelled. Although he was clearly in a losing position, there was still a way he could become the winner.

"What?" Arthur seemed almost taken aback. Shocked at what this little kid had just said.

Some of the knights broke out into laughter. Most were simply shocked.

"You heard me. Fight me if you are brave enough. Lets make a bet, if I beat you, you will have to let me and these kids go." Yin loudly said.

Arthur made a scoffing expression. "There's no way you're serious right?" He mocked.

Yin's expression stayed the same.

"Oh so you are... you're actually serious about this. I have to say kid, that's very admirable of you. However, what's in it for me? What do I get if I win?"

"Anything. Anything you want." Yin said sternly.

"Hahaha! Kid, there is nothing that you can give me that I don't already have..." Arthur laughed before pausing for a moment. "However, I shall accept your bet. Purely because I respect your courage."
