I turned and looked at Kieran, who was standing there with a plate of food in his hands looking at me like I'd lost my mind.

"I wasn't talking to anyone…" I muttered. "What is that?"

"It's your dinner." Kieran said offering me the plate

"I said I was-"

"If you don't take this, I have to deal with Sable. No one goes hungry on her watch no matter what I say and considering she cooks the food that I eat I'd like to not get on her bad side." Kieran smirked.

"You could just slap her across the face." I shrugged and raised my eyebrow at him challengingly.

Kieran sighed heavily.

"Would it matter if I said I was sorry?" He asked.

"No." I said and took the plate from him sitting back down on the porch steps. Kieran  was quiet for a few minutes before he scratched awkwardly behind his ear and spoke.

"So, in the kitchen earlier that was rather interesting." He said.

"It was nothing." I said and took a bite. "I don't know what you are talking about."

"I know you've heard the tales. Don't try to make me believe otherwise." Kieran rolled his eyes.

"It's a myth and a very old one at that." I sighed. "I don't think the color of our eyes changes the fact that I literally can't stand you." I scoffed and looked up at him, instantly regretting it. His eyes clouded over with hurt. I looked down quickly.

"It's just crazy is all." I muttered.

"Oh, you can stand out here and scream at the bloody sky, but I'm the crazy one." Kieran scoffed and went back inside slamming the door behind him.

After eating, I walked back inside with my plate taking it to the kitchen, where Sable was washing the dishes.

"How was it?" She asked.

"It was quite delicious. Thank you." I smiled.

"I was surprised when Kieran offered to take you a plate, he's very adamant that if you don't eat with the pack, you don't eat, He can be a grouch." Sable smirked.

"He told me, you made him bring me a plate." I said and raised my eyebrow.

"Oh, I'm sure he did." Sable snickered. "Can't let anyone know he's not a jerk."

I couldn't help but feel just a little bad, knowing it was Kieran who wanted to bring me the food even though I told him I wasn't hungry, and I was horrible to him.

"Need any help?" I asked, trying not to think too much about Kieran and his feelings, he did after all, pretty much kidnap me.

"No, I'm almost finished here. You're looking a little tired, maybe go get some rest."

"I have no idea where I'm supposed to be sleeping." I sighed.

"Oh, you'll probably want to ask Kieran about that." Sable said.

"I may as well sleep outside." I muttered. "I wasn't very nice to him earlier."

Sable laughed.

"Honey, he could think you were pond scum, and he would at least offer you a couch to sleep on. He doesn't care who you are or where you come from, if you're a wolf, you're welcome." She smiled.

"He's not at all the man my father made him to be." I said, and mentally cursed the guilty feeling creeping under my skin again. I sighed. "Thank you, Sable, I'll go find him."

I figured the first place to check would be his room. I sighed heavily and knocked on the large double doors.

"Come in.."

Well, at least he didn't sound terribly upset. I opened the door and slowly walked in the room. He was setting up a screen, sectioning off a corner of the large room. I cleared my throat, letting him know I had come in. Though after I did, I realized he would have known anyway.

"I know you're there." He mumbled and looked over at me.

"I was talking to Sable and she told me to come find you and ask you where I'm supposed to sleep.." I said.

"I don't have a room for you, so you'll be in here." Kieran  said.

I went to protest but he cut me off.

"Before you start yelling again, just come over here." He said. I walked over to him and peeked around the other side of the screen, He'd set up the bay window in his room to be a bed. He'd even taken my blanket that I had packed with me in my backpack and laid it out.

"When you were out of it the last two days you kept mumbling about the sky and the stars so..I figured you'd like the view." Kieran  shrugged as if it was nothing, but I couldn't help but think it was actually kind of sweet. I walked over to the bed and looked in my backpack. Something was missing.

"Wait a minute where is-" I started and turned around and Kieran  had a playful smirk on his face.

"Are you looking for this, Pup?" He asked while holding out an old stuffed bear.

And I hate him again.

I reached out but he held it up over his head laughing.

"It's quite cute actually, how you still carry around a teddy bear everywhere you go."

"Give it back!" I shouted and elbowed him in the ribs.

He groaned and let go of the bear and I caught it.

"Bloody hell it's just a bear!" He said, holding his side.

"It's not just a bear.." I mumbled and set it down gently on the bed. "It's the only thing I have that belonged to my mother.." I looked up at him and a look of grief washed over his expression.

"I didn't know." He said, with remorse in his tone. I looked away from him at a little table where he had set the antibiotic salve I had made for my wound.

"Right…" He sighed. "I'll let you get adjusted…" He said and started walking away.

"Thank you.." I said softly.

"Don't mention it." He said walking to the other side of the screen.

I grumbled in frustration and cursed for what had to be the tenth time as I tried to hold my shirt up with my teeth while I stood in front of a mirror trying to apply the honey and cloves to the wound on my stomach but it just wasn't working for me.

"Need some help?"

I heard Kieran  say. I turned to tell him no and as I turned I noticed he was shirtless. My mouth fell open and my shirt fell back down over my stomach and I almost dropped the antibiotic all over the floor. My eyes studied every inch of his sculpted torso. The man was built like a bloody work of art. My eyes trailed down from his dark wiry chest hair, to the treasure trail that went into the waistband of his sleep pants.

"Eyes are up here, she-wolf." He said with a chuckle.

I felt my face heat up, as I looked back up at his face. His eyebrows looked like they were about to fly off his face and his lips, that I had just noticed looked incredibly soft, were curved into a sly smirk.

Kieran Quinn was clearly playing a game, and he wasn't playing fair at all.

"Do you need help or... Are you going to stubbornly struggle with that for the rest of the night? I have to admit, I have a mouth like a sailor sometimes and the things you've been saying make me want to wash your mouth out."

Keep away from my mouth Quinn.

I blinked at him.

"Well, it's a Christmas miracle I've rendered you speechless. Here. Let me have a look." He said and lifted my shirt and God's damned if I didn't just stand there and let him. I held my shirt up and he knelt down, looking at the wound. He dipped the tips of his fingers in the salve and went to apply it.

"Be gentle. It's very tender." I said.

He bit his lip and very carefully applied the honey onto the wound. I tried to hold in a gasp as the feeling of his calloused fingers on my skin sent sharp tingles through my entire body. I was surprised by how gentle his touch was. He finished applying the honey and reached up to the table for a bandage which he placed over the wound and secured it. I winced and hissed in pain as he pressed down making sure it was secure enough. I reached out and grabbed his muscular shoulder for support while keeping my other hand holding up my shirt. He wrapped an arm around my waist to keep me steady as he stood.

"You alright?" He asked.

"Yeah..." I breathed suddenly, aware of how close I was to him. He looked down and grinned.

"Purple is a good color on you." He said. I looked down realizing I was still holding my shirt up revealing my purple lace bra. I felt my face flush as I put my shirt back down and crossed my arms.

"Thank you." I muttered, backing away from him.

"Got any other wounds I need to look at?" He asked, eyeing my legs.

"You wish." I scoffed and pushed him around the other side of the screen.

"Goodnight pup." He chuckled.

"Goodnight asshat." I sighed.
