Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

I blinked my eyes open and let out a soft groan at the dull ache in my head. I rolled my head to the side blinking my eyes until my vision cleared up. I sat up and stretched rubbing my back and shoulders, sleeping on this hardwood floor was not good to me. I looked around the room trying to get a feel for where I was, I couldn't remember anything from last night. I stood up, and walked over to the table in the room, there was a glass decanter. I opened it and sniffed and scrunched up my nose.

Rum. Besides the table in the room, there was a large bed with burgundy and black satin bedding. Whose room was I in? Whose house was I in?  It didn't smell like home. I heard footsteps coming down the hallway and I froze.

The double doors to the room swung open and in sauntered a man, tall with dark messy hair, he wore a red shirt, and a black leather jacket over that and the tightest black jeans I'd ever seen a man wear. I sniffed discreetly; his scent was powerful. He was strong. Alpha strong.

"Well, look who is awake." He said with a dark smirk and walked over to me, arrogantly truthfully the way he moved when he walked was a slightly more coordinated drunken pirate this man thought he was Gaia's gift to women and with those looks. He may damn well have been.

No. Keep your guard up Amara...

I stood tall, as tall as my five-foot two self could anyways. This man towered over me in height and his blue eyes didn't just look at me, they looked into me. I scowled at him.

"What is with that sour face?" He scoffed, "I saved your life, perhaps some gratitude is in order."

"I will show gratitude, perhaps when I am given your name, and my location." I said firmly.

"Kieran Quinn, at your service." He grinned and gave me a cocky bow. "You are in my home, specifically, in my room because as I am sure you are aware, mating season is near and well. You are delectable looking little she-wolf and some of my boys get a little rambunctious." He said and his eyes traveled my body from head to toe.

I rolled my eyes at him.

"Well, Kieran, I do thank you for saving me from those hunters, however I would like to be getting home."

"Home?" Killian laughed. "You're looking at your new home, princess. You crossed into my territory. Consider yourself lucky I let you live." He said and circled me. My body tensed and my heartbeat quickened and by the look on his face he quite enjoyed that.

"Aye. I know who you are. Alexander's pup and I'm sure, he's told you all about me."

I couldn't stop the low growl escaping my lips. If there was one thing I absolutely hated being referred to, it was pup.

"Only that you are an arrogant man who walks the earth as he's Gaia's greatest gift." I snorted. "Now that I get a closer look, I'm not impressed." I said, narrowing my eyes at him.

Kieran put his hand on his chest and pouted at me, mockingly.

"You wound me." He said and stepped closer to me, I backed away as his eyes darkened and soon, I found myself backed in a corner with nowhere left to get away. My back hit the wall with a soft thud and Kieran's face was inches from mine.

"Your scent tells me otherwise. You know, she-wolves tend to give off a scent to let males know they're interested." He grinned and suddenly face was buried in my neck taking in my scent before he pulled away

"You haven't mated yet." He mumbled and cocked his head at me.

"So?" I asked, my voice shook, and his eyes sparked.

"What's the matter, pup? Are you frightened? Would you like to run back home to papa?"

I saw my eyes in the reflection of his flash, a dangerous orange color and I went to push him off of me, but he quickly grabbed my wrists pinning them above my head.

"Don't call me pup!" I spat at him.

"Why haven't you found a mate?" Kieran asked.

"Because I don't need one." I growled and struggled against his grip. "No one could handle me anyways."

"Oh, I'm sure any one of my boys would know just what to do with you." He smirked "But. you don't want that. No. you want-" Killian was cut off by a knock on the door and he growled and ripped himself away from me to go to the door. He opened the door.

"What is it, Kenneth? I am busy!"

"Alexander and a few of his boys are at the line. Demanding to see you." The one he called Kenneth said.

"Round up Connor and Marcus. If dear old Alex demands my presence, who am I to deny?" Kieran smirked.

"He requests his daughter as well. He knows you have her."

"Fine." Kieran shrugged and sauntered back over to me.

"It's precious really, how he's come for you, thinking he'll be getting you back. Pup"

I growled and slapped him across the face.

God that felt good.

I eyed Kenneth who stood in the entrance of the room with an expression that told me I just made a huge mistake. I turned back to Kieran, his eyes were full of rage, but there was something else there to his expression. Remorse?

He reared back and slapped my left cheek so hard that I fell to the floor. I held my cheek and pulled my hand away, looking at the blood. His rings must have cut my cheek. I tried to stand but he pushed me back to the floor.

"Stay down there where you belong!" He shouted, angry now. "Let me make one thing clear to you. I am the Alpha in this pack, your father may be the Alpha of your pack, but you are in my territory now!" He barked. "You raise your hand to strike me again and I will break every single one of your fingers. One. By. One. Disrespect me again, pup. I dare you." He snarled.

I went quiet, which was unusual for me. He turned to Kenneth

"What are you still standing there for?" He barked. Kenneth nodded and quickly walked out of the room.

Kieran walked into the bathroom that was attached to his room. I heard the water running briefly and he came back with a damp cloth in his hand he crouched down and tilted my head up. I winced as he put pressure on the cut on my cheek.

"You just had to strike me in front of someone." He sighed. "I don't mind asserting my authority with she-wolfs too, but I prefer not to hit them at least not that hard."

"So why did you?" I scoffed.

"Because you are not in my pack at least not yet." He smirked. "I can't just let an outsider disrespect me like that in front of company. I'd lose the respect of my pack."

"To be fair you disrespected me first." I said, narrowing my eyes at him and taking the cloth from him holding it to my cheek as I stood up. "I'll have you know; I do not plan on being part of your pack. I have my own."

"That you ran away from in the middle of the night." Kieran shrugged. "It's not unheard of for Wolves to leave their birth packs when they are of age to do so."

"Well, I certainly didn't plan on coming here." I said and rolled my eyes. "You brought me here."

"Well, I could have left you to the hunters."

"Why didn't you?" I asked.

"I have my reasons." Kieran shrugged. "Come, your father is waiting." He smirked. "I can't wait to tell him you won't be returning home. Though I have a feeling only he is going to be bothered by that."

I rolled my eyes again and turned my back to him.

"Those eyes are going to fall right out of your head, pup." He chuckled.

I growled and turned around raising my fist which he caught this time before I hit him.

He picked up some rope from the table in the room and bound my hands together.

"What the hell?" I demanded.

"You're really punchy Ya know?" He smirked. "This is more for your protection. Impulsive little she-wolf you are. I had a feeling I would be needing this." Kieran said and tugged at the rope making sure it was secure.

"I hate you." I muttered.

"We'll see." He smiled.
