CHAPTER 43

JOHN B. SMITH JR. II had been retired for less than a year, he had spent nearly sixty years working as a federal agent for the FBI, and not having solved the Nikola Tesla case-or being prevented from doing so, to be more exact-has always tarnished his record as special agent, at least that's what he felt.

He just didn't know what to do away from the daily action his job had given him, even though he was already seventy-nine years old, he still felt very physically and intellectually energized, and having retired was truly embarrassing.

Neither he, nor his wife, knew what to do with all that idle time, they had already traveled all over the United States of America, made some interesting trips to Paris, London, Egypt, Moscow and other exotic places, such as the Amazon, Tibet and New Delhi, however, curiosity about places in the world had simply died down a little more after six months.

His wife, Claire, had always been very concerned about his life ah Lethal Weapon, but over time she realized that her husband was tough, knew the old agent could die of depression, honestly, he had participated in so many missions. suicides that it was difficult for her to see him dying simply because he had nothing important and exciting to do.

John had practically been sitting in that rocking chair for almost a year looking at the sky as if something important was coming from there, his exercise routine was practically the same as it had been since she'd met him, every day he did a ten-mile run and a set. heavy exercise, such as push-ups and sit-ups, which helped him to always stay in shape and be part of the FBI's elite.

John was the person alive who had received as many medals as possible, he was a true American hero, obviously most of the missions were secret and no one knew why he had received them, but those who were active had him in high regard, especially all the presidents he worked with, rejecting high diplomatic or political positions saying it was too boring to work making room for others.

Just like usual, he was rocking in his chair when a black official vehicle pulled up in front of his house and Nolan got out of it looking unfriendly and went to meet him.
