Chapter 1 - The beginning

"One-Chan, I want to go to the military" said Anya excited, her eyes glowing bright.

"What? Hold on. I don't think you realize how dangerous being in army is," responded Aiko "besides it's really tough. You would have to go through a lot of hardships like crawling in mud, eating bad tasting food and all sort of inconveniences."

Anya lowered her head considering what her older sister had said. From her trance-like state she was brought back to reality by the thing that had always impressed her so much. She saw it before her eyes – an image that could be compared only to a scenery of heavens. Thousands of proud lolis wearing beautiful military uniforms and guns, marching in tight formation. A sound of their feet thumping dictated the rate at which her heart was beating. The sight was truly breathtaking.

"I have already made up my mind. It's what I want to do in life. Sis, please let me do this."

Aiko looked at her little sister and sighed, "But you're too young. I really don't want anything to happen to–"

"I am already old enough!" Anya interrupted her sister. "Why are you like that? Anyone else would be so proud that someone from their family is part of the army. Why won't you support me?"

Aiko eyed her sister once more and shed a solitary tear. "I just realized you grew up so fast." She wiped her face with blouse sleeves. "Okay. If that's what you want, you can be a soldier."

"Yaaay! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love you so much!" Anya jumped and hugged her sister tightly. "I can't wait to get my military uniform!"

"Okay, okay, calm down." Aiko hugged back her sister. "Now look at the road. I think that they will show the tank brigade now."

Anya let go of her sister and quickly got to the barrier grabbing it with her hands. She leaned forward to peak down the road. There was indeed a battalion of panzers following the lolinfantry brigade. Anya already knew this. She saw quite a few military parades but every one of them excited her no less then the previous one.

It was her hobby. Since she was five years old, she immersed herself in books about warfare tactics and monthly magazines discussing newest weapons known to publicity. Every time she felt ground shaking under hundreds tons of steel or thousands boots stomping on the ground in unison she dreamed about being part of it. Now that she was ten – minimum military age - it was her time to shine.

"Please sign those documents. You should come to the campus tomorrow at 8am. Training will last two months, and then you can choose if you want to stay as professional soldier," said lady sitting behind the desk.

"Yes ma'am!" Anya responded with a relief that signing up to the military was such an easy task. Maybe it's not going to be as bad as her sister told her. She quickly skimmed through all pages and carefully left her signature where it was needed. She then said goodbye and went outside of army recruitment center.

Fresh air filled up her lungs. Day was beautiful and Berlolin was as lovely as always with thousands of little girls happily wandering around doing their daily chores. Anya started heading home wondering why her health hasn't been checked before accepting her into military. They always did some checks up until now, so why did they stop? It's probably due to many army expansion programs introduced lately. They need every last loli to fill the ranks.

Anya didn't ponder about why they increased their numbers so much recently. It seemed natural that a strong country would want to improve its security, or perhaps even expand its sphere of influence as they so peacefully call it. However, a possibility of violent conflict came to her mind as something rather abstract. While others were often very eager about the idea Anya didn't really put much thought into it.

Of course, she believed in loli supremacy over other forms of life, but she felt very safe as she was and she wanted to leave such difficult decisions in governments hands. She believed that Lolitler and her Lolnazi party knew what they are doing. After all, they came so far, and country was in a really good state.

Anya had finally come to a rather small but good-looking house. She wandered to its door and took out the key from her pocket. She put the key inside a lock below the handle and tried turning it, but to her surprise the door was already unlocked. She then opened it and came inside glancing around the house, as if looking for something.

"Sis, are you there?" she asked loudly.

The sound of patter resonated around the house and got louder as Aiko quickly got downstairs. She jumped skipping the last step and hugged her sister tightly.

Anya stood there frozen. She was overwhelmed by such amount of sudden love coming towards her.

"Um, what are you doing? You already finished your work? Did something happen?" Anya asked timidly.

Aiko looked into her eyes and blushed a little.

"Oh. Oh no. I'm so sorry. I must have startled you. It's just that I'm worried about you and I wanted to touch you once more before–" Aiko stopped for a moment and looked to the side with a gloomy expression. "You know, before you go."

"Oh," Anya said with a sigh of relief and returned a hug. "It's okay. Don't worry. I will be fine, I promise. I will be coming to see you whenever I have the opportunity."

Aiko looked at her sister with disbelief in her eyes.

"I will come back trust me. It's not like I'll die or anything," Anya smiled warmly to calm her sister. It appears to have started working because her sister smiled back.

"Yes. I really hope you won't," Aiko agreed.

"Yes, yes," Anya patted her older sister's head. "Now if you don't mind, I should go prepare myself."

"Okay,"

"Could you, um, let me go now?" Anya looked at her sister still clinging to her firmly.

"Oh, s-sorry I got a little carried away" Aiko released her sister from her grip and smiled awkwardly.

"I appreciate your care, but don't worry about me," Anya said as she went to her room to get ready for tomorrow.

She walked in and looked around noticing countless posters of lolis in arms, tanks and guns. She took a deep breath and gladly said to herself "It's time for a new chapter in my life!"
