Chapter 13 - Boundaries

Rivar was still headed their way with no knowledge of Lilian's spar with Sir Christopher. He thought it was unusually odd how there were no servants in the halls during this busy time. He assumed they were busy with other tasks.

Lilian continued sparring her hair shined bright with the sun's rays peering onto her, almost like a snowflake that would glisten in the sunlight. She could feel her mana spreading the more she focused getting closer to opening another circle. Exchanging cuts and bruises with Sir Christopher. She was hopping about like a rabbit quick and nimble but striking back like a viper attacking it's prey. It was clear that even Sir Christopher was having a hard time keeping up with her pace. At times he felt like her movements were an illusion. It was hard to keep your eyes focused on her.

Sir Christopher was heavily breathing when he got Lilian in the leg her pants cut and red soaking into the fabric however she did not slow down. She was tenacious with no hesitation in sight not even a wince to the pain that should be throbbing about in her body. Once more they took aim to each other leaping into the air aiming for easy points, when suddenly Rivar jumped in the middle grabbing both blades bare handedly.

Rivar stood there with the blades in his hands and his palms cut with blood softly dripping down. A glare and assertive aura pierced off of him towards Sir Christopher. Lilian immediately leaped backwards upset that Rivar interrupted their battle. She could feel her being at the gateways of circle seven. Just a bit more concentration an a few more minutes of sparring with Christopher she would have unlocked it. She gritted her teeth with displeasure apparent on her face. Rivar looked over to her and frowned with the sight of blood falling from her. Her pale skin was now covered in marks.

" How dare you stop my sparring match! " Lilian yelled to Rivar.

Christopher immediately followed to his master awaiting any orders. Yet he was also concerned with what was to come after Rivar's display. He knew immediately that Rivar that Christopher crossed the line.

" I repeat how dare you Sir Rivar! You interrupted my sparring match. " Lilian repeated glaring Rivar down.

Rivar felt uneasy seeing this new side of Lilian. A side of disappointment and displeasure. " I am sorry My Lady however your knight has harmed you and you seem to require a physician immediately. " he responded to Lilian.

" I require someone when I say I require someone. I do not see anyone jumping in when the King has a sparring match with his fellow knights. " Lilian retorted with an attitude " You are not the king and you are not my knight who have forgotten your place it seems. Have you also forgotten that King Leon has named me Crown Princess which giver me certain rights? " Lilian followed up with a question as she laid into Rivar.

Rivar knew she was right he subjectively reacted. There was a tug to Lizbeth he couldn't comprehend. He also knew he wasn't allowed to feel this way towards the crowned princess. He knelt down in shame bowing his head to Lilian and Sir Christopher.

" Please forgive me Lady Lizbeth I reacted with authority or proper command. I overstepped and ruined your sparring match. " he apologized to Lilian.

" Apologize to my knight as well. As your display was an act of rudeness to him as well. " Lilian demanded of Rivar.

" I am sorry for my shameful act Sir Christopher and hope you may forgive my impertinence. " Sir Rivar said apologetically to Christopher.

It was unheard of for the Leader of the knights to apologize to a lower rank knight. Although Sir Christopher had similar station to Rivar, Lilian had not been coronated as the official queen yet. She didn't hold as much power as a queen yet everyone was charmed by her. They respected her already all the servants and knights were in awe by her leadership and fairness. She fairly placed boundaries with the king's knight as well as made a higher official properly apologize to her personal knight under unusual circumstances that no other crowned princess has done.

" We will have our meeting later, Sir Rivar. Meet me after noon tea time. We will speak more then. As of now I would like space. " Lilian commanded.
