Chapter 14 - Afternoon Tea

Livid with his display Lilian immediately removed herself from the courtyard and gestured Sir Christopher to follow. The other servants scurried off like mice, all started gossiping about in the palace. Even the king himself could hear the clamoring and scurrying along with all the whispers echoing about. Rivar couldn't even rebuttal Lilian he felt ashamed and hurt they way she looked at him when he interrupted her sparring match.

Lilian knew she had to let her head cool off so she could gain intel from Rivar if he even would acknowledge her. She knew she may have overplayed her authority yet she had to set some sort of boundary. She had show them all that when it came to her people and her authority she wouldn't accept being questioned regardless of whom it might be. Sir Christopher felt even more in awe walking behind Lady Lizbeth, and seeing her stride with such tenaciousness. He thought to himself that he knew in that moment he chose right to follow this woman even it meant to his death. He felt the new circle he had opened the fresh mana spreading about in his body.

Lilian, Sir Christopher and her four servants followed to her room where they were getting ready to unwind and enjoy afternoon tea. Sir Christopher sat across from Lilian in a sofa chair. Lilian plopped on her floral sofa in front of the coffee table that held the spread that her servants placed. Like usual Lilian made her servants join her for tea time everyone was handed cups and smiling. Of course still respecting the hierarchy Roxanne her head maid would pour Lilian her tea. Sir Christopher seemed to be caught off guard with this. It was extremely unusual for a crowned princess let alone any noble to treat her servants more with a familial bond than via employer and employee.

" It's quite odd My Lady how treat your servants like fellow noble ladies gossiping about. " Christopher said to Lilian.

" I find it quite odd not to. Most women come from noble families who were unable to afford a dowry to be married off into another noble family. The rest are usually born servants coming from generations of servants who were proud to serve the Royal Family. As such they are more noble than any noble out there. They have hidden generations of secrets and held the royals that were birthed. If their hands can touch a prince or princess why can't they eat with us. " Lilian said assertively.

Although her logic was Sir Christopher thought she was still very unusual. That's when his siter went up to him and smacked him in the back of the head scolding him for talking to Lilian that way. This made Lilian laugh her face became red like a tomato. She was like a child laughing at a funny joke. Her servants turned to her and stared at her with adornment. They all continued to enjoy their tea and share laughs.

It was interrupted by the sound of knocking on Lizbeth's door. Lilian already knew who it was and gestured Roxanne to open the door and let him in. Roxanne opened the door up and moved to the side as he came in. He stood there silently like a statue by the entrance of her room. It was apparent that Sir Rivar learnt his lesson and how he needed to respect the boundary that Lilian placed between them.

" Come and take a seat Sir Rivar. I hope we can still chat you do not need to stand there still like a statue. " Lilian announced.

Sir Rivar shook his head in compliance and took a seat near Sir Christopher. Sir Christopher felt uneasy from the apparent awkwardness in the room especially with the man right next to him being the leader of all the knights. Even the girls Roxanne, Esther, Eliouse, an Arianna felt awkward being in the room now. This made Lilian sigh as she could feel the tension brewing after what was just a joyous moment.

" Sir Rivar, everyone is bustling around and i have heard new of a distant princess arriving soon. I wanted to know if there was any details you could give me. Perhaps is there was all could be forgiven and this awkward tension could begone. " Lilian said to him.

Rivar knew this could be a moment to redeem himself. Although he was the king's personal knight there was no order not to tell the crowned princess about the intel he was given. He fixed himself up and nodded to her.

" So long as it's an order from my lady I may give you the intel you require. " he answered.

Lilian understood what he meant by this. Meaning Lizbeth needed to use her authority to gain intel which would only be privy to the royal family. Since she is currently the crowned princess she can use her authority to find out. As well as this would his way of displaying he will follow her command.

" Sir Rivar I order you to privy any intel you know of the princess that is to come to the palace soon. " Lilian ordered.
