She eventually falls asleep.
While sleeping she dreams of herself standing, on a wooden bridge that's about to break. There are a few cracks on the bridge. She finds herself looking down.
Below the bridge is a never ending ditch. Amara sees nothing but darkness, under the bridge. Her eyes start to widen, as she glanced at the ditch below.
She starts trembling with fear. Sweat running down her forehead. She takes a step back and…
Crack
A small piece of the wooden bridge broke and fell into the ditch. Amara stops as she felt startled. Her heart starts beating faster.
She can feel her ears focusing on the falling wooden piece, so as to know, the depth of the ditch but she never heard the sound. Amara realizes that the ditch is never-ending.
She quickly looks up and then her face turns from side to side, trying observe.
Amara feels tensed, as she looked around. It's day time. At the sides of the bridge, she sees a small group of people coming towards the bridge.
They stop a few meters away from the bridge. Amara tries to recognize them. At the left side, a man, a women, two kids and a granny.
On the right side, a man, a women, an old couple and a little girl.
Amara immediately feels a sense of déjà Vu. She realizes it's her family standing on the right side. Without a second thought, she tries to run towards her family but she can't.
She tries to run but she can't move her body. It feels like something is stopping her. Amara's eyes fill up with tears, she looks on the other side. It's a family too, she doesn't recognize this family.
Who are they? Amara doesn't know them. Suddenly, she feels her heart aching. Amara can feel pain in her heart.
She immediately, feels her hands pressing against her chest. She tries to breath but breathing brings only more pain.
* It feels like I'm dying *, she thinks. Amara opens her mouth to breath.
"Ah!", she lets out a soft and small breath. She closes her eyes, still in pain.
A lot of memories run through her mind. Memories of the family on the left side and Amara is there too. She is with them.
Amara comes back to her senses and finds herself staring at the family. Her heart has stopped aching.
*Who are they? Why does it feel like, I know them?*, Amara thinks.
She doesn't know them but, it feels like she does. Confusion, curiosity, fear, tension. She can feel a lot of feelings.
The strongest among them is love. She can feel, that she dearly cherishes both the families standing.
Crack-crack
Amara looks down at her feet. More cracks start to appear on the bridge. Amara, once again quickly glances at both sides.
This time she sees venomous and vicious animals and insects approaching both families from behind.
It is clear that they will soon attack, the family in front of them. She tries to warn them but they seem to be unaware of the danger.
She wants to save them. Both of them.
But how?
She has to pick one. She realizes that she can't save both of them. She's running out of time.
Both families will be attacked at the same time and if she doesn't make a move, she'll fall at the same time too.
* If I don't choose, a few minutes from now, I will fall and both of my families will die *, she thinks.
Tears running down her face. Her throat feels sore and her head starts to hurt.
Now she'll either fall and die or pick one of the two sides. Picking one means, she won't be able to get to the other side ever again and she'd be forced to watch, the ones on the other side get attacked by those insects and animals.
At the same time she has to protect those, whose side she has chosen, from those animals and insects.
Crack ! Crack ! Crack !
The bridge is starting to brake. * It's too late now *, she thinks and the bridge breaks into small pieces.
Animals and insects jump upon her family on each side. She can feel the bridge disappearing from below her feet.
Her eyes widen, tears running down. She closes her eyes, as she falls. Her arms up raise up in air.
* I feel like a feather being pulled to the ground by force*, she thinks and…..
