The next night, he comes to his room. He takes a bath and changes into his night dress.
Now, he stands in front of a mirror. Khalid stares at his reflection in the mirror. A small smile appears on his face. He slightly tilts his head. His eyes open a bit, as if he's admiring something. His arm raises and his hand touches the face of his reflection on the mirror.
"Mirrors. To me mirrors are actually beautiful. To speak of the truth, the first thing I try to find anywhere I go, is a mirror.", he giggles." There are countless reasons why.", he continues talking to himself . "Countless reasons, Why I look for a mirror every where? I seem to find peace in mirrors. I could stare at them for countless hours, without even stopping.", he tilts his head to the other side. His fingers slowly rubbing against the mirror. He stops and continues speaking.
"Looking at them. I feel. I feel love. Love from the other side.", a smile reappears on his face. A brighter one this time.
"I want… I wish to reach through the mirror. Reach through and hold the one in front of me. Reach through and hug it tightly..", his hand slowly moves down the mirror and then slowly parts away.
" Only if you were real.", he thinks with disappointment." Only if I could touch you. Only if we could be together. I wish you were real. So, you'd be able to listen to my sorrows. We could laugh together and be there for each other in our bad times. We'd be better than brothers,, better than friends. We wouldn't have needed anyone else. You would have been my secret hide out. You'd hug and caress me like an elder brother. Coming to you would take me far away from this world."
Khalid lies down in front of the mirror and continues to stare at it. His hand touches the reflections hand. A tear falls from his right eye.
" It's like we are brothers sealed in two different worlds and a mirror as an unbreakable wall between us. It doesn't matter, Even if I break this mirror. I still won't be able to reach you. It will make things worse for us.", Khalid says wiping his tear.
