"Did you say you want the invitation for Sarah's birthday party." Claire asked not sure if she heard him right, "Yes, can you get the invitation?" Claire was stunned, she recalled Jasmine telling her about a party at Jake's house.
"But, why do you want to go there, after..." Claire was not sure about what he wanted to do, she didn't want to mention about the fight he had with Sarah's father.
"I just want to apologize to him that's all." Jason replied, a faint smile forming on his face as he buttoned his black suit, honestly, he didn't trust Claire enough, even though he felt guilty for using her like this, he was never going to let anyone come between his plans.
Claire felt like he was up to something, "Is that all, I mean you want to go there just to apologize?"
"Claire, do you think I'm someone who has hidden motives?"
"What? No, I was just thinking that after the fight, you might want to take revenge on him!" Claire replied honestly. "I will surely do that, but for now I just want to apologize." He answered, confusing Claire.
"Hmm, okay I'll see what I can do and if we go there and he becomes angry, please don't get beaten up by him this time."
Jason smiled at her and tilted his head a bit, as he bends towards her, "Are you worried about me, Claire?"
Claire's breath hitched because how close he was, she could only nod as a answer, taking a step back, she took a breath, "So, you only wanted to talk about this?"
Jason just nodded, feeling a bit disappointed, she glanced at the French windows, whenever she came here it always made her feel like it was the best day to breath, she loved the view from there, snapping out of her thoughts she said, "Then I guess, I'll take my leave."
"Wait, how about a coffee with me before leaving?" Jason suggested. She gave him a curd nod and both of them walked out of his cabin to the cafeteria in the company on the ninth floor.
"What would you like to have?" He asked as they reached near the cafeteria, "Just a coffee."
"Do you think Mr. Kenwood and that girl from the contest are in a relationship?"
"What! Why would you think that she isn't even his type!" The other woman said sarcastically.
Claire recognized the other woman, she was the receptionist from the morning, who was quite cold towards her, now she knew the reason.
Jason frowned at their conversation, he walked towards them, Claire tried to stop him, he walked towards them and stood there, but they were so engrossed in their talks that they didn't notice him.
"How do you guys have time to bad mouth about someone when, there is so much of work to do!" Jason was infuriated, as the women hurriedly got up from their chairs, greeting him.
"Mr. Kenwood we were just-"
"I don't have time to waste on people like you, but after this if I ever find both of you, doing stuff like this, that will be you last day in this company!" Jason warned them, as they shivered in fear.
"Sent two cups of coffee and a croissant in my cabin." He ordered them and walked away from there, taking Claire with him.
"I initially planned to sit there and enjoy the view, but they just spoiled my mood."
Claire just hummed in response, they were in the elevator, she noticed how he was rubbing his swollen jaw, "Did you apply ice on it?"
"Huh," He was confused by her question, but he understood what she was talking about when she pointed towards his jaw, "Oh, I did but it's still a bit swollen."
"Then should we go to the doctor?" She inquired, worry evident in her voice, "It will be fine, don't worry."
When they reached in his cabin, soon their snacks were there, "Do you like the croissant?" Jason asked taking a sip from his coffee, Claire hummed happily, "Wow, I haven't eaten such a good croissant in a while." She replied taking a big bite from her croissant.
"I love food, it always calms you down when your angry or sad," She closed her eyes enjoy the sweet taste, "I always wished to marry someone who could cook well." She suddenly said, making Jason almost choke on his coffee, but thankfully she didn't notice.
"I can see how much you love food." He responded frankly.
Jason's phone pinged, showing a text, he picked his phone up, it was a text from Austin, "She is here, wants to meet you!"
Jason was shocked, "Do whatever you can don't let her here I'm with Claire." Austin texted back, "Too late man, she is already coming towards your cabin!"
Claire noticed Jason was looking a bit worried, "Are you okay?" She asked wiping her hands with the tissue.
As he was about to answer, they heard a loud bang on the door, "Jason, open the door, what makes you think I won't be able to meet you!" She shouted as she kept on banging loudly on the door.
"God, this woman," Jason groaned, they could hear noise from the outside, "What the hell is she doing here!" Jason was pissed off, he couldn't believe, she will create a ruckus as soon as she came back.
"Is she your ex?"
"What! No, she is just..." Jason didn't know what to do, he didn't want her to see Claire, and he possibly couldn't tell Claire to hide somewhere, he didn't have any excuse to give her.
"Jason, you jerk, open the damn door!"
Claire was worried for her, as she kept banging loudly hoping that she doesn't get hurt, "Who is she?"
"She is a... a friend." Claire didn't believe him, "She might get hurt, we should open the door." Saying that Claire, walked towards the door and kept her hand on the door handle, she was about to open the door when Jason pulled her towards him, trying to stop her, but the door got unlocked in the process.
