"Both of them were looking at each other like they were ready to kill each other." Claire said, taking a bite from her cheesecake, her words made Jasmine chuckle, they were at the coffee shop where Jake works.
"So, did you talk to him?" Jasmine asked, she was stunned at how Claire was so calm, "No, but he tried to talk to me, but I didn't." Claire said.
"Really!" Jasmine exclaimed, she was shocked to hear that, "I thought you liked him."
Claire took a deep sigh and said, "It was just a small crush."
"Claire!" Jake called her name as he came and stood in front of her. Claire was shocked to see him there, "What are you doing here!" Claire asked, but then she realised that he works there. "Claire please listen to me, I couldn't tell anyone b-"
"You don't have to tell us." Claire said, without looking at him, she had a small crush on him, but she still thought of him as a friend, "Jake, you should have told us if you took us as your friends, it's not like we would have told everyone!" Jasmine said.
Jake was looking at them with a guilty look, he knew they were right, "I'm sorry, please guys forgive me."
Claire glanced at him, she could see he was genuinely feeling sorry, she was still angry at him, but she didn't want to lose a good friend like him, "Okay, I will forgive if you make sure your sister stays away from me." Clarie demanded.
Jasmine was looking shocked, she knew Claire sometimes spoke what was on her mind, but she didn't expect this, "Claire, what are you saying!" Jasmine whispered to her, Jake was dumfounded for a second, he didn't expect that.
"What! No offence Jake, but your sister gets on my nerves." Claire said, Jasmine covered her face with her hands she wanted Claire to shut her mouth, but Jasmine knew no one would be able to shut her.
Jake chuckled listening to her words, he sat down beside Jasmine and said, "Okay, I will try to keep her away from you."
Claire smiled at him, making Jasmine sigh in relief, "So, am I forgiven?" Jake asked nervously, Claire and Jasmine glanced at each other and then nodded their heads, "Thanks, I promise I will never hide anything from you guys." Jake said.
He was happy that Claire forgives him, now that the first step of his plan was a success, he just has to convince her, "Claire, I want ask you something."
"What?" Claire asked, looking at him, "Why are you participating in the contest, do you like him?"
Claire choked on the cake she was eating, Jasmine hurriedly gave her water, her eyes started to get filled with tears, after some time when she was feeling okay, she looked at him and he was still looking at her, waiting for an answer.
"W-Well, uh.... I have my reasons." Claire said, she had nothing to say for now, his question even made her feel guilty, just a while ago she was hurt and angry on him for hiding about his life from them, and here she is doing the same thing.
Jake didn't ask any further, he felt she didn't want to tell him her reasons, "But I want to tell you something about Jason!" Jake stated, making Claire give him her full attention, "It is related to his family."
"His p-"
"Hey, Jasmine, finally found you!" Austin shouted loudly, everyone in the coffee shop stared at him, Jasmine groaned looking at him, she was trying her best to avoid him, but he really found her, Claire was looking at him as he went crazy, "We are right here, why are you shouting?"
"Because Claire, I was excited." Austin said, as he sat down beside her, looking at Jasmine with a smirk on her face, "About what?"
"Winning." Austin said, "Huh..." Claire was getting more and more confused, "Claire I need to go." Saying that Jasmine got up to leave, "So are you running away?" Austin said, making Jasmine angry, "What is going on?" Claire mumbled.
"Can, anyone tell me what's happening here?" Claire demanded, "Let me explain..." Austin said, "I wanted to go on a date with her but..." Ausitn said, pointing his finger towards Jasmine, "She said no, but me being me I kept calling her, but she didn't pick my calls!" Austin complained, Claire laughed at his pouting face.
"Do you think that is something you should be proud of?" Jasmine asked, he ignored her and said, "So, I kept texting her, then she challenged me,"
"Really, what challenge?" Jake asked, getting curious, he knew Austin wasn't here just for Jasmine, Ausitn glared at him, but the girls didn't notice, "She said, if find where she is she will go on a date with me." Ausitn proudly stated.
"Don't you have work?" Claire asked, "I do but Jason will handle it."
"Why are you making him do your work." Claire complained, "Because he wants me to keep an eye on Jake." Austin mumbled making sure no one could hear him, "Huh, what?" Claire asked, "Nothing, but I forgot to tell you...."
"There is something important going on in the mansion. "Austin said, making Claire get worried, she hurriedly got up to leave, "I'm leaving Jasmine, bye."
"Wait Claire, let me drop you." Jake said, following her, "You don't have to." Austin said, as he got up from his chair, and stood in front of Jake, "She can go on her own, but Jason wants to meet you tonight."
Claire could feel the tension between them, but she felt like she shouldn't interfere, "Claire I will come with you." Jasmine said, and both the girls left, Austin wanted to stop Jasmine, but he knew this was more important, "What were you going to tell her?"
"I just wanted to tell her about Jason's parents."
"How dare you!" Austin grabbed his shirt in anger, Austin wasn't like Jason who would easily lose his temper, but Jake's words made him angry, people around them got started mumbling in fear, Ausitn notice this and left him.
"Tonight, meet us where we used to meet." Austin said and left from there.
