Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"Come on Bella, you can do this," Jasmine shouted, "What the hell, girl let me focus," Claire said without looking at her, she was completely focused on winning the game, that she was playing.

"Yes! Keep going we are going to win," Jasmine shouted, Claire didn't respond to her, she was too focused on winning, just when she was about to win, someone unplugged the game, "What the hell!," Claire shouted, glaring at the person who just ruined her mood, like always.

"Watch your tone young lady." Maria Anderson glared at her, "yeah, yeah, I know" Claire answered sarcastically, she knew how much Maria hated when she talk to her like this.

Maria looked at Claire with a deadly look, Claire knew if her father didn't love her, this lady would have thrown her on the streets ages ago.

"Why did you do that," Claire asked angrily, "Bella, calm down." Jasmine tried to calm her, but she knew, Claire was someone who doesn't get angry easily but when she does it's scary.

"Are you angry on me, just for a stupid game?" Maria asked, with a fake offended look on her face, "Yes, I'm." Claire said but that was actually a lie, she was angry on her for a lot of things, first she wants her to move out of her own house, second she is sending her sister to a boarding school which she doesn't know the reason.

"Come on, my lovely daughter, it's just a game." Maria said, going towards Claire's bags that were beside the couch.

"So you are finally moving out." She asked eyeing the bags, Claire didn't miss how happy she sounded. "I bet you're very happy," Claire said, "Oh, don't tell me you're going to throw a party?"

"Your father will be back after a month." Maria said, ignoring Claire's question,

"Where is Emily."

"Why do you want to know?"

"She is my sister, I want to meet her before leaving."

"She is your step sister." Claire glared at Maria, when she said that.

"Why were you playing a game, when you should have left already?" Maria asked with a scowl on her face, "I was waiting for Emily."

"Oh, I forgot to tell you, I sent Emily to her grandparents home, for some days," Maria glanced at Claire, who was shocked by her words.

Claire knew Maria can do anything, when she wants something, but this was so low of her, "You a-..".

"We will leave, she even has to set up her room." Jasmine said, dragging Claire out of the house, before she could say something.

"Why did you stop me?" Claire asked, "Because, she is not worth it." She answered her.

"She sure is an evil woman." Jasmine said, driving the car.

"I just feel bad for my dad, where did he find this woman," Claire chuckled at her own words,

"Forget about her and now focus on your life." Jasmine said.

*****

"So this is your room," Claire smiled at her friend, who let her stay in her apartment, "Thank you J, for letting me stay with you."

"I'm your friend Bella so….," Jasmine said, smacking Claire on her head, "Ouch, what was that for," Claire asked rubbing the spot where Jasmine hit her.

"Who taught you to thank your friend huh." Claire smiled.

Soon Jasmine left Claire alone to buy some groceries for them, Claire lied down on her bed.

Her room was simple yet beautiful, the walls were off-white in colour, while her bed was also white with peach colour pillows and blanket, there were matching night stand on both side of the bed.

The window had transparent white curtains, Claire chuckled knowing very well, how obsessed Jasmine is with white.

"Getting up from her bed, Claire went towards the window that had an amazing view of the whole town, Jasmine's apartment was on the 16th floor.

Being from a rich family Claire still had to struggle for money, because of her step mother, and her father didn't have any idea what was happening with her.

Many times she thought, she should tell her father everything, but whenever she got this remembered the face of her father, when he was heartbroken because of her mother came in front of her eyes, making her shut her mouth.

Claire heard her phone ringing on the bed, she went to pick it up and smiled while looking who the caller was, "Why did you move out!" Claire chuckled at the person who was shouting at her.

"Did mom told you…to move out." Emily asked hesitantly, even though she already knew the answer.

'Emily sure knows her mother well', Claire thought, but did not say anything, "I'm an adult, I need to live on my own." Claire tried to sound as happy as she could.

"And who said, living with your family, will stop you from living on your own." Emily said sarcastically.

"You speak too much for a 15 year old."

"Why do you listen to mom, when you know she is wrong." Emily asked,

Claire sighed, she didn't know how to answer Emily's question, even if Maria hated her, she was the one who was there for her father, when he was alone.

Emily didn't knew about Claire's mother, so telling her anything was never on her mind.

Claire talked with her for sometime, then went to the living room, Jasmine still wasn't back, so Claire was bored, she decided to check her mails and some messages.

She also checked her bank account balance and sighed which showed fifty-four $, 'I surely need to find a job' Claire thought.

Asking her father for money, she can't do that because he will ask her so many questions, like why don't you have money?, did Maria not gave you money?, that questions she didn't want to answer, and asking Maria was not an option.

"God, please do a miracle so that I have millions in my account!" Claire shouted hoping for a miracle, but she knew it was impossible.
