Before them was a huge building. It looked just like the olden day castles in the sixties. She was unaware of where they were and was so scared she could have heart failure but she coated it with bravery.
"Uh… Mr. Niven, where are we?" she asked.
"We shall see" he said in a cold emotionless voice.
This was the part of him she hated, he was so unpredictable.
Zain walked towards the main door of the castle and of course she had no choice than to come with. She could have attempted to run but she noticed she was surrounded by men in black which she took as his bodyguards or guards, she didn't even know who they were all she knew was they were in uniforms and looked a bit similar.
One thing that made her scared of them was the fact that they always pistols fixed in a gun holster which hung round their waists. She just followed him helplessly.
The interior of the mansion was really deceiving, it was nothing like the exterior. It had an elegant, modern design and it looked really luxurious.
It was an empty hall, so empty that their footsteps echoed in the enormous hall. She enjoyed the echo of their footsteps as it gave a really satisfying sound. She was dazed and unable to speak but she never knew an elegant place like this ever existed.
They walked through the hall and found themselves walking through a hall way. Finally Zain stopped in front of a double door. He placed his finger on a glass box fixed to the door and it scanned his finger prints.
"Jeez must he use finger prints for every of his things?" Kaima thought.
Just then an idea shook her, she had seen something in a movie. Some secret agents had opened a door locked with a finger print by getting the fingerprint of the owner on a cellophane. The owner had held a glass wine cup and his finger print was still evident there so they placed a tape on it and placed the tape containing the print on the glass box. Kaima wanted to imitate this act to try if it was going to work out, that was if she made it out here alive.
Zain walked in through the door then Kaima walked in after him. As soon as she was in the door shut behind them. She looked back, the men in black which Kaima knew as the bodyguards didn't go in with them.
Suddenly, she heard a click, it sounded like the door was locked. This immediately alerted the poor girl as she ran back and pulled the knob but it didn't open.
What was he going to do to her? She was left at his mercy. Her eyes scanned down to his waist and there was a gun safely fitted in the holster. This made her more frightened she was thinking today was going to be her last.
It wasn't exactly a room, it looked more like a conference hall for a business meeting. It had a huge round table which had seats set around it.
He walked towards the table where a file folder laid. She was too scared to leave the door, she just stood helplessly by it hoping it would just open.
"Come over here" he said to her in a commanding tone.
She had always had the mindset that she was strong, persistent and stubborn but she seemed to have seen someone who was worse. She hated his cold attitude, she preferred the perverted Zain than the cold, heartless and emotionless one. He looked like someone who didn't want to repeat himself.
She hesitantly walked over to him like a sheep about to be slaughtered.
He opened the files and handed a document over to her.
"W-w-what i-is it about?" she asked with a slightly trembling voice.
"Read it" he said.
The words were so many but by the look of it, it seemed like a contract. She didn't read every word, she only read the words boldly written.
"By signing this, you have agreed to be Mrs. Kaima Zatanna Niven, the wife of Mr. Zain Vanelle Niven for six months for the sum of @10 000 000"
Her eyes grew wide in shock, this was a marriage contract. She had never seen it in real life, she only read about it novels and e-books. She looked at Zain hoping he was joking with her but he looked dead serious.
With his mood she didn't know how she was going to refuse. She knew she was left at his mercy and a gun just by him. He could blow her head off at any moment.
"You have to sign it with your blood," he said taking out a pocket knife from the pocket inside his suit.
She had to say no and stop this procedure right now. She knew being the wife of someone who carried a gun around wasn't what she planned for. She had to say no after all the worse that could happen was she would be shot dead with a gun.
"Mr. Niven" she said. "I can't do this"
Zain turned his gaze to her and his expression looked really threatening. It was emotionless and unpredictable, she didn't know if he was angry, sad, happy or anything.
"I didn't bargain for this" she started. "I'm not ready to get married moreover, I don't know you so well"
He stared for some seconds which seemed like minutes to Kaima. She was waiting to see his next move.
"Take it with you and sign it when you have made your decision" he said then walked towards the door.
"Wait" she called out making him halt.
"Why did you choose me?" she asked. "We hardly know each other"
There was a sudden silence in the room as Zain stayed silent for some while.
"You know that night you were drunk?" he asked.
"The night you continuously THREATEN me with" Kaima said making sure she pointed out the word threaten.
"I was the man" he said.
Kaima was shocked she wasn't sure she heard him right.
"The male prostitute I had sex with" she exclaimed trying to make him feel weird.
To her surprise, he didn't react at her words. He just walked out of the room. She felt a bit worried at his new behavior. He seemed sad and depressed.
"How could Zain ask for a contract marriage?" she thought as she placed the paper in her hand bag.
*****************************************************
Kaima was at home when she saw a sudden message from a private number. She hated mysterious messages but she decided to check it out.
"You're with something of mine" the message read.
Kaima was confused, what was it talking about?
"Mr. Niven I know it's you, I'm not ready to sign that marriage contract" she replied.
"This is not Zain Niven" the message said. "You're with a USB flash drive of mine and you have to return it instantly"
"Bro, chill, whoever you are" she said with an eye rolling emoji. "It's a wrong number, I'm not with any USB drive"
"Are you sure? Confirm after going through your purse" it said.
Kaima rolled her eyes then inspected her purse. To her surprise, she saw a strange flash drive. Neither had she seen it before nor did use it.
"Oh my gosh, they were right" she exclaimed placing her hand over her mouth in shock.
"I'm sorry, you were right." She messaged them. "I don't know how it got here"
"It was stolen by a spy" it replied. "When they found out they were being traced they must have put it in your purse."
That was when Kaima remembered what happened. The day she had gone to pick Kiara up from the daycare, a guy had bumped into her. He must have been the spy and put it in her bag when he was putting back her belongings in her bag. From the beginning she had felt he was suspicious and thought he wanted to steal something from her, she didn't know he was going to place something else.
"In everything you do, do not watch that video" it said. "If you do that, we will have to kill you and we're sure you don't want to get caught up in that mess"
The messages gave her goosebumps, she felt like she was in a serial killer movie. She felt frightened just by looking at the USB drive. Did she always have to get herself involved with things like this?
"How can I return it?" she replied.
"I would send one of my men to take it from you at the bus stop by 5.00pm" it replied.
Kaima was stuck in another problem, she was battling with a marriage contract now this. If felt like her normal life ended after her break up with Richard.
