Chapter 8 - Start Of Demonstration

An hour before midnight, Prince Heracles was still reading the book that his master, Heiden, gave him. He thought to himself as he was reading, 'After mixing a lot of carbon in the steel, you will be able to create a harder and stronger blade-!'

"Heracles, are you still reading? Sleep now. You still have a lot of time reading that book in the morning!" Lara said after she saw a light from his room.

Upon hearing his mother, Heracles immediately closed his book without any hesitation. He shouted in response to his mother, "I will stop reading now, mom! Good night!"

"Okay, dear! Good night to you as well! Make sure you really sleep, okay?" Lara shouted in response. To assure his mother, Lara shouted in response, "Okay!"

At that very moment, Heracles immediately went to sleep. As he closed his eyes, Heracles thought to himself, 'I will start learning to forge tomorrow! I want to create magnificent weapons in the future!'

Heracles spent an hour with his eyes closed until he could fall asleep. Before he knew it, he was awakened by the birds singing outside of his window. 'Where did I put my book!? I have to read it completely before my master comes to teach me!' Prince Heracles thought to himself as he searched for his book.

After a few minutes, he was able to remember where he put the book. Without getting up from his bed, Prince Heracles continued to read where he left until his mother stopped him.

After a few hours, Lara came knocking at his door saying, "Son, I have brought you breakfast! I know you are busy reading your book. Have a break for a short time!" "I appreciate it, Mom!" said Heracles after his mother left his side.

Heracles continued to read and read until he finished reading his book. He was able to read the entire book before lunch time arrived. He immediately stood up with a smile after accomplishing the only task his master gave him to do.

'I thought I am going to spend a lot of time reading my master's book! The book is just full of illustrations, so I was able to read it this fast! Well, I guess I will go to Dad and Mom now. The dinner is probably ready by now!' he thought to himself as he prepare himself.

Upon seeing him, Lara said to Heracles, "You already finished reading your book? Join your father at the dinner table because our lunch is about to be served."

After he sat at their dining table, Prince Lucas said to his father, "You finished the book that Heiden gave to you?"

After Heracles nodded at him, Prince Lucas said to Heracles, "You better remember the contents of that book when you are learning from Heiden. He is a strict person when he is talking about forging!"

"I already finished reading everything, Dad. All the knowledge that I gained is still fresh in my mind, so there's no need to worry," Heracles confidently said in response.

"If you say so. Anyway, you can check your main quest's progress from time to time. You can shout the same thing that you shouted when you viewed it to see," Prince Lucas said to his son. Upon hearing his father, Heracles shouted, "System, show me the progress of my main quest!"

"It seems like I only need to forge a sword to finish my first quest. We already finished the other two. I think I will be able to finish it in just two days," said Heracles with great confidence.

Upon hearing his son, Prince Lucas said with a smile, "If you told that to your master, he would kick your ass right now. Forging a weapon is not an easy feat, son. Don't underestimate the entire process of forging!"

Heracles changed his outlook after hearing his father. He knew his father would never lie about these matters. He decided to take everything more seriously than he was planning to.

Before he knew it, Heiden and Shirley came to their doorstep. "Are you ready to learn, my student?" said Heiden with great vigor. "I am born for this, master! Please shower me with your knowledge!" Heracles said while trembling with great excitement.

"Let's go to your forge at once! I will demonstrate to you the entire process of creating a steel sword!" said Heiden as he walked alongside his disciple and daughter. Heracles excitedly followed his master's lead toward his forge. The thing that he was anticipating ever since he became his student began as soon as they enter Heracles's personal forge room.

When he took a closer look at his master's expression, he realized that his master's happy-go-lucky demeanor changed into that of a very serious one. He gulped a piece of his saliva as his master's concentration reached its peak.

"If you managed to finish reading the book I gave you, you probably know the first step in the forging process. To create a wonderful weapon, you need a raging flame that would be able to melt your ores together!" Heiden said as he used a tool to start a fire,

As soon as the fire was raging inside the forge, Heiden suddenly began grabbing the ores from Heracles's storage. At the next moment, he said to Heracles, "Now, after we finished creating a raging flame, it is time to find the right mixture of ore to create the weapon that you dream to make! In our case, I want to create a sturdy steel sword! This means that I need to add some carbon to our iron ore to make it a lot sturdier!"

'It's like what I have read before Mom told me to sleep! Carbon makes a steel sword a lot sturdier because of its chemistry composition! I have to ask about master more books about metallurgy that I could learn!'
