Chapter 9 - Continuation Of Demonstration

As his masters mixed some ores in the forge, Heracles thought to himself, 'It's like what I have read before Mom told me to sleep! Carbon makes a steel sword a lot sturdier because of its chemistry composition! I have to ask my master for more books about metallurgy that I could learn!'

Heiden continued teaching Heracles after the ores began to mix with each other. "Now, it's time for the next process! All the ores that we smelt will be going toward our molder as soon as it became a liquid fire!" he said with a serious expression.

At the next moment, he did exactly as he told Heracles. He poured the mixture of melted ores into the mold. At that very moment, he said to Heracles, "Now, after you do this, it is now time for you to pour the water to solidify the melted ores!"

After Heiden pulled a lever, water began flowing from some tubes toward the liquid fire. When it reached its destination, the entire room was suddenly enveloped with steam generated when some of the water evaporated due to the intense heat of the melted ores.

'This is the same moment when I met Master yesterday! I wonder how his work turned up!' Heracles thought to himself as the steam covered his eyesight. He was becoming more excited as the steam dissipated from his sight.

After waiting for a minute, the steam dissipated from the room. This means that Heiden became visible to both Heracles and Shirley, who were watching the whole process. With a smile on his face, Heiden was holding an incomplete sword.

At the next moment, the face of Heracles' master suddenly became even more serious. He said to Heracles before making any moves, "Now, it's time for the hardest part of the forging process! It's time to hammer down your weapon!" Upon saying those words, Heiden suddenly pulled a hammer from his system storage.

At the next moment, he put the steel sword that he created into the raging fire to soften it. After doing that step, he began pounding the sword. 'Master is pounding that sword with just the right amount of strength! It is stated in the book that if an excessive force is used in pounding the materials, it might break, so you have to control your strength with great precision,' Heracles thought to himself as he watched his master excitingly.

After pounding the metal for an hour, Heiden decided to finish the entire process by putting the sword in the water to cool it off. "That is how you create a sword from scratch!"

Heracles' eyes couldn't help but sparkle with excitement upon seeing the sword his master had created. He said with an excited expression, "Now, it is time to sharpen it!" "Yes, you're right! Let me demonstrate it to you so that you can practice the entire process while I am gone! I will gift you something if you can forge your own sword tomorrow by yourself!" said Heiden with a smile.

"I will do my best to learn later, master! For now, please show me how to sharpen a sword!" said Heracles with excitement. "You are very keen to learn, I see. Very well, I will teach you to sharpen one in just a few minutes!" said Heiden with great vigor.

After a few dozens minutes, Heiden said to Heracles as he showed him a sharpened sword, "And this is how you sharpen a sword! Do you have any questions?"

"I have nothing to ask, master!" said Heracles with a smile. "Very well! You must make sure that you finish your assignment tonight! We will be leaving for now because I have a lot of business back home! See you later!" said Heiden as he exited the room.

"Please let me escort you, master!" said Heracles as he left with them. Before he could say his farewell to them, Heiden said to him, "Now, as a mark that you became my student, receive this one gift from me!"

At the next moment, Heiden pulled out a smaller hammer from his system storage. As he handed the hammer to Heracles, he said to him with a smile, "Here's a hammer made up of heavy silver! Make good use of it until you can create your hammer!"

"Thank you for this wonderful gift, master! Please have a safe journey!" said Heracles as he slightly bowed his head to him. "As I said before, you don't have to bow to me like that. Anyway, remember to finish your assignment. I have a great expectation from you!" said Heiden before leaving with Shirley.

After his master left, Heracles thought to himself, 'Now, it's time for me to practice! I want to show master how great of a teacher he is!'

With that in his mind, Heracles began practicing earnestly. Prince Lucas and Princess Lara were observing him from a distance. Due to his great focus, Heracles was unable to realize that he was getting watched.

"Do you think he can forge a sword in just six days?" asked Lara with a worried expression. "Of course! He's our son! I think he could even finish learning how to forge in just three days!" said Prince Lucas with a confident expression.

"Well, we just need to wait and support him with all our might!" said Princess Lara with a smile.

Heracles spent the entire night making mistakes as he tried to learn the way of forging.

"I forgot that step! Now, the sword is all ruined! I have to start again!"

"I used too much carbon! The steel became very hard, so I can't hammer it down with my current strength!"

"Now, I did not put enough carbon to make the steel sturdier! It immediately crumbled after I put pound it a single time!"

After committing many mistakes in trying to make his own sword, Heracles thought to himself, 'I need to start focusing more! I must not make any mistake or else I wouldn't be able to finish creating a sword this night!'

At that very moment, Heracles' demeanor suddenly changed. He became as serious as his master when he was in front of the forge.
