Chapter 19 - 19. Defeat

The longer the atmosphere on the field became more and more crowded by the voices that continued to surround the two people who were fighting.

Prince Cerdwell smiled lopsidedly at Gressylia, don't know what he was doing until now Gressylia fell down without being able to stand up again. His body was stiff, he didn't feel any pain or anything.

"1, 2, 3! Well the winner is Prince Cardwell!" cried the commander-in-chief who saw Gressylia was no longer able to stand up.

"He's cheating," muttered Gressylia still in her position unable to move her body.

The two sisters who saw it immediately hugged and cried profusely. The two of them ran from their standing positions to approach their brother.

While Princess Cerllynda could not see all this, her cheeks were wet with tears, her arms covered her mouth which was indeed making a sobbing sound and almost screamed seeing Gressylia like that.

"Brother! Are you all right? Prince Cardwell cheated," said Rana trying to wake his brother up.

"All right, everyone. Since Prince Cardwell is the victor, he will marry my daughter, Cerllynda!" cried King Carlin announcing the victor who was finally able to marry his daughter.

"I object to Your Majesty the King!" shouted Rana as she stood bravely facing King Carlin with her eyes glaring at the man with anger. She couldn't accept that his brother had been cheated on.

"Shut up you little girls! What do you know about this?" said Prince Cerdwell harshly to Rana.

"Prince Cardwell has cheated! He fought dishonestly Your Majesty, he used his ability to make my brother stiff and immobile, isn't that a violation? If my brother wanted to, I believe he would have killed him!" Rana firmly expressed his disapproval of all this.

Princess Cerllynda who heard that felt touched, a child as small as Rana was able to say such things. He hoped his father would do something, or at least repeat this fight if Gressylia didn't win.

"My majesty the King, do you believe the words of a child like her? She just doesn't accept her brother losing," Prince Cardwell said defensively while trying to convince the king to believe him.

"That's right, little gilrs, this fight is over. Prince Cardwell is the victor. So you have to accept this. You'd better take your brother home!"

Rana was really angry, she clenched her fists tightly. Her twin sister also got up and touched her shoulder lightly while shaking her head.

"Alright everyone, I'm announcing that my daughter Cerllynda's wedding will take place next week!" said King Carlin announcing the marriage.

He immediately dragged his daughter before she rebelled and shouted that she could not accept that Gressylia was defeated. He glanced at the middle of the field there, the young man he loved was still stiffly staring at him in disbelief.

"I'm sorry Princess Cerllynda," murmured Gressylia who was unable to do anything else.

"Listen poor young man! You will never be able to have it," he said in a cold voice and a smile that was more fitting to be called a grin. He immediately followed in the footsteps of King Carlin and his daughter, leaving Gressylia with the two sisters.

"Brother," whispered Rana who hugged Gressylia tightly, as well as Rina, she also hugged her sister.

"I will help Brother," said Rana touching Gressylia's hand, instantly her body could move again. He smiled a little, caressing the cheeks of the two brothers. He kissed the tops of their heads, he loved them both very much.

"You shouldn't have to be like this," Gressylia thought back to remembering that sad year ago.

"Let's go home. There's nothing more your brother can do!" asked Gressylia as she rose from her position, took her two sisters' hands and held them. He took his two younger siblings on either side of him walking hand in hand with him to return to his ramshackle hut which had almost collapsed.

Meanwhile, Princess Cerllynda just silently followed her father's footsteps beside her. Her tears continued to fall, while behind her was Prince Cardwell walking not far from her. She hated the man, however she didn't like everything about him.

"Father, Prince Cardwell is cheating! I'm sure you know this, but why don't you stand up for the truth?" said Princess Cerllynda finally opened her mouth since she didn't dare to say anything.

"Listen my daughter! He has lost, there is no cheating. You have to accept all this. He has lost, next week you will marry Prince Cardwell. He is more worthy of you," said King Carlin firmly to his daughter.

Princess Cerllynda smiled sadly at her father's words. He didn't know how bad the temper of the Prince he said he deserved was. In fact, he looked lowly in the eyes of Princess Cerllynda, he always saw that Prince Cardwell was not good in his eyes. Especially if it wasn't his doing at the academy that made him feel irritated, angry, and disliked him. However, he also knows that many girls want him. All because he's a prince and he's handsome, so you can say he's handsome. But all that Gressylia lost to him.

"You're right! I don't accept this defeat, but you misjudged that damn prince, he's not as good as you think! I know better than you!" said Princess Cerllynda who didn't want to give in to her father. After all he had to be responsible for everything that happened to him as well as Gressylia.

"Plaak!"

One slap on the cheek. It was very painful, maybe his cheeks were red, printing the palms that had just slapped his cheeks. Even his lips were bleeding from the force of his father's slap, this was the second time his father's palm had slapped him. However, it didn't hurt him too much. Because his heart hurts more than his cheeks. He smiled sadly as he looked into her father's eyes.

"My father defends other people who cheat than his own son! Hahahaha!" Princess Cerllynda laughed to herself even though there was nothing funny about what she said.

"This is very shocking Mom, very shocking hahaha. My dad, no longer trusts me. My dad trusts other people more. Mom, what do you think about this huh? Look at me! My dad dared to slap me so hard!" continued Princess Cerllynda again while twisting her body caressing her family photo, more precisely stroking the face of the mother she missed.

"Shut up!" shouted King Carlin again.

Even his hand was ready to slap his daughter's cheek for the third time. But, he stopped right in front of the princess's face which was wet with the tears that had started to dry. The daughter smiled sadly at her father.

"Why stop daddy? Why don't you slap me anymore? It's my cheek that you always caress, slap me as hard as you want. Hurry Dad! Hurry up Dad! Why are you just silent huh? It's sad," said Princess Cerllynda again while chuckling to herself at the door. the end of the sentence.

"Dear Prince Cardwell. Enjoy your victory!" whispered Princess Cerllynda who was now contorting her body towards Prince Cardwell while touching the man's shoulder. He smiled sadly and walked away from there went to his room. Her heart was broken now, her father who had loved her, trusted her, even did anything for her, now she has changed drastically just because of Prince Cardwell.
