Chapter 21 - 21. Escape

During this one week, Princess Cerllynda was unable to leave the palace at all. He kept quiet in his room, not because he was locked up in the room. But he must not leave the palace until the time of his marriage arrives.

The days are empty. He just stayed in the room. Staring at the painting of the mother during the day and night. Looking at the black sky filled with the moon and stars without stopping. He had been sleep deprived the whole night, nor had he had any appetite this whole time.

The beautiful daughter Cerllynda, famous for being cheerful, has now become a sad girl. He was gloomy all day non-stop.

In fact, he always refused to eat with his father. She was completely different now, no makeup on her face from being in the room, her eyelids darkened from lack of sleep and slightly swollen from crying too much.

Anyone who saw it would probably feel sorry for the condition of the beautiful and cheerful princess that disappeared instantly just because she didn't get the young man she loved.

Tonight was her last night being a single girl. Tomorrow morning was the day she would marry Prince Cardwell. He could only silently stand alone in front of the wide open window of his room, allowing all the wind to enter to fill the contents of his room. Meanwhile, not far from there was already available a luxurious and beautiful wedding dress that was chosen by Prince Cardwell and his father.

"Why is the world unfair?" whispered the princess who was still lamenting herself. He felt empty, very empty.

Instantly thought for him to commit suicide, but failed. He didn't have enough guts to do such a stupid thing. He kept silent while talking to himself. Will he have to accept this marriage tomorrow morning?

"No! I don't want to marry a man like him!" cried the princess suddenly.

He was starting to feel stressed by all this. Gressylia didn't give him any news at all, even she herself didn't dare to send Gressylia a letter even though it was just sharing her feelings at this time.

"What should I do?" said the princess again.

He was completely flustered, while the clock continued to tick non-stop. It was nearly dawn. He thought of one thing when he saw the window that was still open.

"Flee, I have to get out of here. I'm sorry Father, but this is the best for you, me, and our kingdom. I say goodbye," he said earnestly as if he was saying goodbye to his father to leave the Carvandalle Kingdom.

He immediately got up from his bed, took out a black robe that had a hood that he could use to cover his face. He will go through the window. He can go down the royal roof until he gets down there. Because the room is located on the top floor.

When he was done, he prepared to carefully step out of the window. He stood on the roof sneakily worried that a soldier or servant would see him like a thief.

After walking slowly he finally descended to the next roof and continued like this until he was able to exit the kingdom through the back door.

"You stupid soldier! Why did he fall asleep while on guard," said the princess as she continued to walk that early morning. It was still too dark to see his movements who were wearing all black clothes.

The sun began to show itself, he continued to shine illuminating the entire earth. Wake up everyone who is fast asleep. Everyone started to busy themselves with their respective activities. Likewise with the contents of the kingdom, everyone was busy making up the kingdom and preparing the wedding of Princess Cerllynda and Prince Cardwell.

Several maids went to the princess's room to do her makeup. Without hesitation they entered after knocking on the door. Surprisingly, the room looks deserted. Everything was still neat as if the princess was tidying up her own room, from the bathroom there was no sound of running water which indicated that the princess was taking a bath.

"Princess, are you inside?" asked one of them calling the princess.

"The window is open," said another, who was poking his head out the window. True, in this room there was absolutely no sign of the princess in her room.

"The princess is not inside. Let's tell His Majesty the King!" invite one of them approved by the others. They went straight out of the princess's room, towards the throne where the king was sitting.

"Forgive your Majesty the King. We did not find Princess Cerllynda in her room," said one of them representing the others to inform the king.

"What? No way," said King Carlin who couldn't believe his daughter had left the kingdom or something else. He immediately left his throne and headed upstairs where the princess's room was.

With an angry heart he opened the door violently. Engage in the quiet surroundings. He kept shouting for his daughter, there was no answer or anything other than that.

"Argg!"

King Carlin groaned as he punched the wall of the room. The sound of his breath already showed that he was angry with his daughter who ran away from the kingdom.

"My majesty the King, Prince Cardwell has arrived," said a soldier who approached the king to announce the arrival of the groom.

He sighed harshly, this time he didn't know what to say to Prince Cardwell and his family.

With a heart full of anger and anxiety towards his daughter, he immediately left the room and headed for the living room where Prince Cardwell and his family were.

"Quickly find Princess Cerllynda!" King Carlin ordered as he walked over to meet his future son-in-law.

Prince Cardwell's family saluted King Carlin, and vice versa. He was a little confused as to what he should tell them all, the show was about to start. All of this will certainly discredit the kingdom's name.

"My majesty the king, the princess is not in this kingdom," said a soldier who informed the king right in front of Prince Cardwell.

"Did something happen?" asked Prince Cadwell trying to ascertain what was going on with his future wife.

"He ran away from the kingdom. I don't know where he went. I'm very sorry about this to all of you, but you don't have to worry. I'll try to find him. We just need to postpone the wedding, right?" said King Carlin trying to be as calm as possible.

"What if Gressylia was the one who took the Princess away," said Prince Cardwell giving the possibility, considering the two people did love each other.

"Is that possible?" King Carlin whispered as he kept thinking if it could be that his daughter was taken away by Gressylia who also wanted her.

"We will find him soon. You don't need to worry, he will definitely be found," said King Carlin, who then left the room to give orders to his soldiers also to cancel the wedding ceremony.
