Chereads / I'm an Eternal / Chapter 2 - Mesopotamia 5000 BCE

Chapter 2 - Mesopotamia 5000 BCE

I am now seen standing in the middle on an open filed with dead Deviants around me. My eyes stopped glowing golden as I look around the place and was amazed by my handy work. The Deviants are cut in half and still smoking from my Cosmic vision. Some Deviants had there heads crushed or caved in. Ikaris is a lot powerful here than in the movie and I was surprised about this. But I still don't know how strong I really am.

"How about we test what I'm capable of but first, let's get back to the others."

I rocketed into the air as I flew towards where the others are gathered. I already see them helping the humans as I floated down and landed besides Ajak as she turned towards me.

"Ah Ikaris, I was wondering where you have been gone to." She said with a smile.

"Sorry Ajak but I just flew around the place to scout around for more Deviants. Don't worry, I took care of them." I answered with my now Scottish accent.

I kind of forgot that Richard Madden who plays Ikaris is from Scotland and I like his accent not gonna lie.

"Well you did a great job Ikaris. Now that the humans are safe from them, let's help them evolve shall we."

"Of course." I replied.

She walked towards the humans and began to converse to them in ancient language that I instantly learned. Damn. That was quick. I decided to help the others disposing the bodies of the dead Deviants. I see Kingo tried pulling a dead Deviant and didn't even budge making Gilgamesh who is lifting a dead Deviant laugh at his predicament. I shook my head and approached the struggling Eternal.

"Need a little help there?" I asked making him turn towards me.

"Thank you for helping me. I'm Kingo by them way." He thanked me as I nod.

"Ikaris. It's a pleasure to meet you."

He stopped pulling as I grabbed the dead Deviant on it's tail and I pulled it easily while walking towards the cliff.

"You are really cool earlier." Kingo walked beside me. "You can fly and shoot lasers in your eyes and your very strong too. I'm kind of jealous."

I chuckled at his comment. "You're not bad yourself. Shooting projectiles from your hands with those finger guns of yours."

"Yeah that's all that I can do honestly.". He replied.

"Well don't talk down on yourself Kingo. We are different from each other and each of us has unique abilities." I explained to him as I dumped the dead body down the cliff.

"Wow, thanks for the talk boss." Kingo said with a smile.

"Boss?" I forgot he calls Ikaris that.

"It suits you well." This time it was Gilgamesh who answered. "You are like the second in command."

"I don't know if I fit that role. I'm not the leader type."

"You look great as a leader. You are strong too so that's a plus." Kingo continued as Gil pointed at Kingo.

"He's right."

I just sighed. "Well if you guys think so then I'll do my best when that day comes."

They nodded. "We know that you'll never let us down." Kingo said as Gil pat me on the back.

They walked away as I flew down the cliff and towards the beach shore. I saw some rocks ranging from different sizes. So I thought of something.

"Let's see how strong I really am." I walked towards a medium sized rock about half my size and lifted it with ease. "Okay then."

I grabbed a rock the same size as me and lifted it up over my head. It's still light so put it back down and went towards a rock the same size as a truck. I know there's no truck in this time but it looks the same as one. I grabbed it from below and started lifting it. It was heavy I know but I can still lift it over my head.

"Okay I'm stronger than in the movie so good to know." I'm still getting used to my Scottish accent but I'm starting to like it.

"Are you talking to yourself?" a voice asked from behind me.

I turned and saw Thena sitting on top of a rock with a raised brow. I threw the truck size boulder in the air and blasted it pieces with my Cosmic vision. I then turned towards her.

"Not really." I answered.

"Okay? Then why are you lifting those rocks earlier?" She asked and jumped down from .the rock she was sitting on.

"Just trying to know how strong I really am compared to Gil since he is physically the strongest one of us." I replied

"Well I heard from Ajak that interms of skills and abilities, you are by far the strongest of us. How about we test that." She took a fighting stance.

I know Ikaris doesn't have a specific fighting style or has any at all but being a trained martial artist in my old life, maybe I can stand a chance against Thena. I walked towards her and did a fighting stance which surprised her for a moment before composing herself.

"Ready when you are Thena." I said as she suddenly lunged towards me with a punch.

I side stepped and dodged her attack she rolled back to her feet. She ran towards me and launched a series of punches and kicks which I either dodged or block. She hits hard I give you dad. Tired of just dodging and blocking, I also started to counter her attacks with my own as our fist collided with each other creating a shockwave pushing us back.

"You are good Ikaris. I think I just found my sparing buddy." She said with a smirk.

"I am honored being complimented by one of the greatest warrior of Olympia." Let's just play along for now. It's not the time to tell them the truth about this suicide mission.

She then conjured a shield and sword as she became serious. "Then let's not hold back."

My eyes started to glow golden as I also smirked and floated in the air not far from the ground. "It will be my pleasure."

I shoot her with my Cosmic vision as she blocked it with her shield. I then flew towards her as she also rushed towards me. I'd didn't know that we had audience on the side watching in amazement.

....

"I can't believe he's handling himself against her. I mean Thena is one of the best." Kingo said in amazement as he watched me punch Thena's shield pushing her back before firing my Cosmic beams which she dodged.

Makkari and Druig were also there watching. "He sure is strong. I can tell he is holding when fighting a Deviant." Makkari used sign language to communicate.

"I want to go next." Gilgamesh responded as he cracked his knuckles.

Fighting Thena is a good way to measure my power. Fighting Deviants, I can't really go all out as they die really fast. Thena is dangerous with her weapons out. So the best way to beat her is to take away her weapons and prevent her from making more. As she tried to slash me I dodged and went for a punch but she blocked again with her shield. But I didn't stop there. I delivered more punches to her shield as I saw it started to crack. Thena kneeled down of the ground as the power of my punches pushed her to her knees. This is an achievement for me. With one last punch, her shield broke as her sword also disappeared. So I grabbed her arms and floated towards a rock wall and pinned her.

I smirked and said. "Had enough?"

"She also smirked and admitted defeat. "Okay you win."

I let her out of my hold as I floated back down.

"You are strong I give you that. No one has broken my shield before." She said as she got sand out of her outfit.

"There's still more room to grow." I said as I held out a hand. "It was a great fight."

"It was. I will look forward in fighting with you again Ikaris." She said and took my hand as a sign if respect towards each other.

She then walked away as I decided to pass the time in the beach just watching the waves hit the rocks. All we need to do now is help this human for now until moving on to the next location.

"That was a great battle you two did there." Gilgamesh sat beside me with Kingo as he wrap an arm around my shoulders.

"Yeah boss. You were like flying around and firing those laser beams from your eyes. Man, I can't believe Thena has a match in terms of fighting abilities." Kingo said as he reinacted the fight earlier.

"You really are the strongest among us." This time Sprite joined the conversation. "You live up to your name."

"I think I can still grow in power. 'We' can still grow stronger. Together." I said making them smile.

"Well let's hope that day comes, yeah? So that I can finally surpass you." Gilgamesh confidently said making me smirk and the two laugh.

"Oh it's on." I said as he did a fist bump which he was a little confused. Right, I forgot.

"It's called a fist bump. You just bump your fist with mine but gently." I said as Gilgamesh did it. "It's like saying hello but with close friends."

"Now that is a cool way to greet someone." Kingo commented.

"Yup." I replied. "It sure does."
