'Do you believe it now?'
Sadewa's voice sounded in his head. Nakula was silent, but his mind had answered that he believed in this madness.
Sadewa was back as usual with his trademark smile that made his eyes narrow into crescents. Nakula slowly returned to his figure.
"First of all, how can you be so fickle?" Nakula voiced his curiosity.
Sadewa's eyebrows dipped again, and his lips slightly moved forward, a thinking face of Sadewa. "Uh... this morning, I didn't understand either. But then you'll be able to feel it for yourself. It's like there are sparks in your chest, and I feel lighter, and you realize your senses will be much sharper than they are now."
Nakula tilted her face. "What do you mean this morning? Is it now?" Nakula stopped talking when he saw the clock hanging on the wall showing two o'clock in the afternoon. "Holy shit," Nakula realized. "How long have I been asleep for?"
"A few hours. You're the slowest to wake up because your metabolism is still processing the changes in you and fixing everything in your body," Theo answered.
"Fixing...?" Nakula doesn't understand.
"Being reborn as a werewolf has several benefits and advantages. Especially regarding the illness, you suffer from. Your brother explained that you have a respiratory disease from birth and immunity is weaker than him. Also, you had ADHD as a child. So your transformation took a toll. A little time from your brother because the process is like curing all your ailments in one night and making you reborn. Not that you were born as your other self, no. You're still you. What's different is that you're now one of those mythological creatures that humans thought were just fairy tales. And also, you are stronger now. Your sharpened senses are just a bonus because of our wolf side," Theo explained at length.
Captures all sound waves, including a conversation between two women in the apartment block next door talking about her daughter's engagement. Nakula's forehead wrinkled. "But my senses are quite sharp now," as if to prove it Nakula massaged his head which had been throbbing and his ears ringing from being able to hear sounds within a radius of three kilometers.
"But when you transform, your senses will be much sharper," Sadewa nodded.
"What about those two? Why haven't they woken up yet?" Ask Nakula now seeing Rasya and Hema
"They woke up after me, but they were in pain from their wounds last night—"
"They didn't turn into werewolves?" Nakula cuts Sadewa. Sadewa shook his head. "Looks like it was just the two of us that were changed by the alpha last night," he replied.
Nakula looked back at his two other friends. "How are they?" Nakula asked, and his chest tightened slightly, seeing the two people lying weakly.
"They're fine. Thomas has treated them, and the potion is enough to heal their wounds. That's why they were put back to sleep, so the wounds healed completely," Theo replied.
"Thomas?"
Nakula hears another foreign name.
The bedroom door opened, and a tall man with a thin build and dark blue hair entered the room. This man is handsome, and it's very obvious. His face reminded Nakula of Carlisle Cullen-one of the characters in the Twilight movies, perfectly sculpted like the god Zeus.
"Hello," Thomas waved with a friendly smile on his lips.
Okay, Nakula didn't expect that Thomas's voice would be as smooth as satin and so soft. Nakula guessed that his voice would be a little heavy, and perhaps his personality would be a little cold and calm, making Nakula a little intimidated.
But everything is wrong.
Thomas instead jumped up and checked Sadewa's body, who seemed to be familiar with Thomas-and giggled amusedly while pinching Sadewa's cheek and patting his head lightly. Then he jumped up and down again while watching Nakula's body and checked on his other two friends. Very, very cheerful.
"You're in great shape. You're perfect!" he whispered cheerfully and patted Nakula's head.
Nakula thought hard. His head hooked, everything happened and—
"You two were two wolves last night?!"
"Yes, last night we were the ones who helped you," Thomas answered.
Nakula blinked and looked at Sadewa, who just smiled and nodded. Nakula closed his eyes because he heard the phone ringing a few kilometers from the room and tried to block out the sound.
"Argh, shit," Nakula cursed and covered his ears. He swore his head was throbbing.
"Relax, you'll get used to it in no time. Your brother can already control it," Theo explained. Nakula turned to Sadewa, and Sadewa's brows furrowed again.
"Um... You just have to focus on what's in front of you," said Sadewa. Nakula's eyes narrowed. "You know I was born the hardest to focus," he growled. Sadewa chuckled. "You will believe in yourself."
Nakula rolled his eyes.
"Easy for you because you are the most focused among us. Even daddy and mommy said," Nakula woke up, and his eyes widened. "Sadewa! Mommy! Mommy must be very worried, and daddy—"
Nakula stopped when he saw Sadewa's expression. Sadewa turned his gaze to the window, staring at the bustling street.
"We'll take you home when your two friends wake up," Theo spoke.
Nakula's eye reflex looked at Rasya and Hema, who was still lying down. His mind was racing between wanting to go home because he knew his parents must be worried half to death, but they couldn't come back with Rasya and Hema like this.
It's impossible to explain to people that the werewolf Alpha attacked them, right?
"There is a way, actually," Nakula's thoughts were cut off by Sadewa's voice. "Theo told me earlier. Because I have the same worries as you, and Theo said there's a way for their wounds to disappear without a trace."
Nakula turned to Theo. "What's that?"
Theo looked at the twins in turn. "You bite them," he said.
Silence.
"I don't think I understand..." Nakula whispered. His brows furrowed deeply. Bite? What does it mean?
"You two bite and transfer your saliva, which contains fast-healing bacteria, so that they can go back to normal," explains Theo. Nakula tilted his head. "D-don't they bite, they will also...uh... change?" asked Nakula, but not sure.
"No, they won't change," Thomas' soft voice replied after a long silence.
"Huh?" okay, Nakula is confused.
"They will not change because of your bite because you are Beta. Only alpha can change someone," said Theo.
Still, Nakula's brain couldn't digest it all at once. It seems that even though he turned into a mythological creature with multiplied powers and senses, the changes didn't add to the intelligence of Nakula's brain, lol.
"I still don't get it. And the alpha, the Beta," Nakula groaned and ruffled his hair. Sadewa chuckled and just rubbed his shoulder.
"Alright, looks like I have to go into great detail with you. In contrast to your brother quickly grasping my point after I explained," Theo sighed.
"Hey, we're fraternal twins, okay?!" exclaimed Nakula did not accept. Thomas laughed softly.
Theo then took a deep breath. "Okay, so in the werewolf caste, there are three positions. Alpha, Beta, and Omega. Alpha is the leader of a group. He is in control and guides the group. And only an alpha can turn someone into a werewolf. It's easy to recognize alpha because he can stand on two legs and has bright red eyes. But alpha can also turn into a full wolf with four legs if he wants. So yes, alpha can transform into two forms. Okay, second, Beta, that is you two now," Theo cleared his throat.
"Beta has a golden eye color, and Beta, when transforming, will completely transform into a four-legged wolf. You will be able to transform later gradually when it's time. And betas usually have a fairly large number in the group because the Beta's position is a warrior in a group. Beta can be formed because it is changed by alpha or because it is born as a beta. And Beta can't change a person. The alpha and beta relationship is like the relationship between a wolf mother and her kids. Especially if the alpha changes the Beta," Theo paused. Nakula processed Theo's words, then his eyes widened, then turned quickly to Sadewa in horror.
"But we can reject the existence of an alpha that changes us," Sadewa answered the question in Nakula's mind.
"Is that true?" Nakula looked somewhat relieved.
"Right," Theo replied, making Nakula look back at him. "You two can reject your alpha existence and become nomads, but that's impossible because alpha can control Beta. But," Theo suppressed his voice slightly.
"You can form a new group or look for a new alpha. It seems that the best choice is for you to form a new group," Theo replied, his eyes glaring at Rasya and Hema. But Nakula understands.
"With them?" asked Nakula.
Theo nodded. "As I said earlier, you bit them, which builds a bond between you. They'll be back to how they used to be, plus point, you can share mind-links," Theo smiled faintly.
"Mind link?" Nakula tilted his head. Theo nodded briefly, then tapped his temple. "Telepathy," he added.
'Yes, like this.'
Nakula flinched in surprise and reflexively hit the shoulder of the chuckling Sadewa. "Please don't startle me like that, Alex; you know my heart is weak," Nakula rubbed his chest. Sadewa still chuckled. "Not anymore, Axel. Remember the wolf in you heals all your ailments?" replied Sadewa. Oh, yes too.
"And that makes them the omega in your circle. If you do bite them," Theo spoke again. Nakula turned around.
"But they're still human, right?"
Theo nodded. "Omega, in the werewolf caste here, is a position for other creatures. It can be human, and it can be a fairy or mermaid. They are called omega because they are a different caste. And their function in the group is also different. They are usually the ultimate weapon. A kind of diamond buried in the sand."
"Why?"
"Because not all groups have omega. And if you have omega, your group will be very strong. Because the two of them will act like omega even though they are human," Theo smiled crookedly. But Nakula was silent.
"Can you explain in more detail? I think Nakula still doesn't understand," said Sadewa after a few seconds of silence.
Theo sighed. "In short, omega is the brain of the bunch," Theo tapped his temple again.
Nakula nodded slowly, and he began to understand, although not completely. "But, if the four of us form a new group, is it okay without the alpha?"
And Theo smirked. "That's why you have omega. I told you, omegas are the diamonds and brains of the group. They can be a shield between you and the alpha that changes you. They could bring you back to your sense."
"And that still applies if you become alpha one day. Omega will still be the shield. Against the enemy, you are not influenced and join the wrong group. Omega is your rationale. Omega is the heart of the group. And this is the risk of having omega in the actual group," Theo was silent for a moment.
"Without alpha, the group can still run. Without Beta, so can. However, if a group already has an omega from the beginning, and one day the omega dies or goes away, the group will be destroyed due to loss of heart and brain, like a group without a soul, which explains why the werewolf group rarely has omega. Even though having omega can strengthen the group many times, but still. The risk is very high if the omega is gone," added Theo at length.
Silence.
"So... Should we have omega or not?" this time, it was Sadewa who asked.
Theo shrugged his shoulders. "The decision rests with you. I think it's better to have a discussion and involve both of them when they come to their senses." Theo pointed at Rasya and Hema, then he got up and left, followed by Thomas waving at them.
