The rich man's daughter

Episode 2

Times cure Everything, That's said by those who haven't suffered in life.

I stood afar staring at the old building,My gaze tore away and landed on the bunch of money she threw on me, I let out a soft sigh before walking away.

I walked into the old rowdy restaurant and headed towards the small counter.

"You should serve the next table" Andrew glanced at my face before he signals

I took the tray and headed for the seat near the broken window.

"Sir, Your order" I turned to the man who was busy laughing with the other young men.

He glared closely at me before opening his mouth .

He look more older than the rest, probably their Boss.

"Just a glass of water first" He responded.

I nodded lightly before heading for the water basin, Within a wink of an eye I was back to their table.

They were busy chatting and chortling, They could hardly notice my presence.

"Sir.. I tried screaming above the noisy room

It a small rowdy restaurant that could hardly contain some amount of people.

"Just drop it and leave" He murmured without taking a glimpse of my face

I drop the glass of water and left.

"You should send him some cigarettes" I heard one of the man voice.

"He is too noisy, I hate him" He sniffled on the glass of water.

They all look familiar, I wonder where I saw them from.

"What was he saying? Andrew questioned immediately I reached the counter

He was leaning by the colored pole. His black pale eyes could easily be noticed, He is one of the employees as well.

"Nothing important" I mumbled.

I took the next order to the corner of the room.

"Do you heard about Rodriguez announcement? The man with the cheeky voice asked the other man who was sitting across to him.

"I heard he promised to hand over all of his properties to whoever marries his daughter" The Man with the curly hair responded taking a sip from his beer glass

That got my attention, Why would he hand over his properties to a strange man instead of his daughter?

"Not just any girl, A cripple? Jeez, I can believe he is finally selling her out at a cheap price" The first man added and scoffed

"Cheap price? That's a hell lot of money Man! The second man exclaimed.

"What are you doing? His voice suddenly jerked me out of my thoughts.

I guess he noticed my sudden stop

"A-am sorry" I stuttered

I placed down their order and left immediately.

"Do you heard about Rodriguez news? I questioned Andrew as I reached the counter

Rodriguez is popularly known for his wealth in the whole City, but I never knew about his daughter.

A cripple? That's weird.

"You never heard that? He raised his brow.

"The news is all over the city " He added

"Is it really true? I questioned with a sense of concern in my voice

"Are you planing to apply? He stared weirdly at me

"Why would I? Everyone knows am married" I chuckled lightly and shrugged

He nodded lightly at my words.

I don't know why but I just feel really interested in the case.

"I bet he had no choice, I heard she wasn't cripple from birth"

"Then what happened?? I was forced to question

"Some sort of accident I guess" He let out a soft sigh.

That must have reminded him of his little sister who became crippled two years ago after a fatal accident.

"Rodriguez is getting older,I bet he is seriously in need of A capable Man who will take care of his properties and his only crippled daughter when he is away" He added arranging the plates.

"I wonder what his daughter look like" I grumbled underneath.

"I heard she looks like a ghost" He sounded really serious.

"A ghost! That was a loud scream.

I drop the bottle of soju inside the waste bin.

I was back home. I kept the two bundle of money inside the old wardrobe. Cynthia walked back in, She stopped her steps and focused her gaze on me for minutes.

I stare into the depth of her eyes, All I can see was the pain and sadness that I caused her. I shouldn't have force her into the marriage.

C-Cynthia" I tried muttering her name but it was really hard.

She took the last glimpse at me and headed outside.

I took my feet and went after her. She was at the small parlor on her weak ankles scrubbing the floor.

"Why do you reek so much of alcohol? She questioned without taking a glance at my face.

I wonder why she didn't nag at me, I was used to that everyday.

"I just had a few glass with Andrew, Am sorry" I buried my face.

She suddenly went quiet.

"I prepared you something, You should take a bite" She added in a whisper.

I stared closely at her, Her beauty had disappeared and was replaced by her pale eyes and wrinkles. Her lips are dry and matte, is she sick?

She stood on her feet and headed for the narrow dark kitchen, I took my feet and followed her.

"Do you know how much you recked my life? She served the baked potato

"We hardly have two times meals because of the debt wrapped around our necks, The crazy hospitals bills back then" She chortled aloud.

I was silent staring at her crazy act.

"I met with Becky today" She added.

"Becky? I raised my head.

Becky was her best friend back in high school who recently became The Chief Justice.

She is drowning in money while she is drowning in debts.

"Am sorry" I buried my face once again.

"Geez.. She cussed into the air dropping the plate which scattering into pieces on the rough floor.

"Why do you keep saying sorry George? I seriously hate that sorry" She turned and whispered into my face.

"Just say something, Cuss me, yell back at me, Hit me, Just hit me, I need a suitable reason to file our divorce! She banged the wooden door.

That send a cold chill down my spine.

"D-divorce? What are you talking about Cynthia? I stuttered staring at the depth of her brown eyes.

"Becky promised to help me, She promise to get me out of this suffocating place! It over George, We should stop forcing things, The child between us, the love between us, Everything is long time dead, we were only left with debt.

"It time we part our ways George" she sniffed trying to force back the looming tears.

"Just sign the divorce paper and let me go, PLEASE" She falls at my feet and cry helplessly.
