Chapter 27 - i'm Hungry

Chapter 27

"What are you watching, Ma'am? Sounds really fun?" asked Cleo who had just come out of her room.

"It's really fun, here accompany Mbak to watch!"

He also sat with me, soon Cleo joined in laughing watching Jacky Chan's acting which was very entertaining.

While he was having fun laughing, suddenly the bell rang over and over again. Looks like a guest is coming, but who, huh?

"Open it, Cleo!" I told my sister who was still laughing.

"Ma'am, come on. Bearing this is more fun!"

"You little brat, just watch out if a handsome guy comes. You just don't stay here, don't be busy!" I mumbled while laughing.

"Take sono! I don't like friends, Ma'am. You must have been told!" he replied with a laugh too.

We always joke like that, if people saw they might think we were fighting.

I lazily stood up and walked to the front door. Immediately I opened the door and my body instantly froze.

"Assalamualaikum, Clara. May I come in?" hello umami.

I was mesmerized by her appearance, it was completely different from her usual appearance. Wearing black pants, then a white shirt with a black jacket also makes his appearance different

"Clara! Hello, anyone home?" he greeted me again.

"Eh, waalaikumsalam. Hmm, what do you need?" I asked mockingly.

In fact, my heart was suddenly pounding wildly.

I want to take you for a walk to enjoy this sunny night. You want, right? You don't have to go far, it's okay to walk around the complex," he answered enthusiastically.

Oh my God, why did Allah answer my whims so quickly? However, why also Umami, anyway? Is he the only man in this world, where are the others?

"How about it, Clara. How come you've been quiet all this time? Did I bother you? Then, just forget about my invitation. Sorry if I bothered you, I'm sorry, okay," said Umami because I had been silent for a long time.

I could see the disappointed hue in his eyes, it was a pity too. He had come all the way to my house, but instead I refused.

"Umm!" call me slowly. However, he can still hear my voice apparently. The proof he stopped walking and turned around.

"I want to, but just around here, okay? Let's just walk," I decided.

His face immediately brightened, he rushed over to me with a big smile.

"Where is your papa? Let me excuse him for taking his daughter for a night out," he asked.

"Papa is away, there are only Cleo and Aunt," I replied.

"What's with the mention of my name?" Cleo's voice asked behind me.

I looked back, I don't know when the child was behind me.

"Don't worry about it, Cleo. Umami wants to take Mbak for a walk. Do you want it, don't you?" I asked casually.

Cleo followed my arm while smiling mischievously. Meanwhile Umami just looked at the two of us without speaking.

"Nope!" he answered quickly.

"Why, why? Usually you ask to come the quickest if you want to go for a walk?"

"I don't want to be a demon, Ma'am. You two go away!" he answered.

You don't want to be a demon, he said, what do you mean? God, he must have remembered that famous phrase.

'It is not permissible to be alone between a man and a woman because all three are devils.'

I couldn't resist anymore, finally having to follow Umami's footsteps after saying goodbye to Cleo.

We walked in silence, I enjoyed the night atmosphere around my house. Only this time I went out at night on foot.

It turned out to be quite fun too, many people were also passing by to go outside or enter the housing complex.

Every now and then I nod, even smile and greet people I know on the street.

"Neng Clara, do you want to go out at night? Go on foot again," said Mang Ujang. security guard complex that I know well.

"Yes, sir. I want to walk again," I answered simply.

Mang Ujang nodded when I said goodbye to him, he also smiled at Umami who also reprimanded him.

"It turns out that you are quite popular here too, huh, Ra. Since then someone has been reprimanding you," said Umami when we arrived outside the complex.

"When I was a girl, I participated in youth recitation activities and youth organizations as well," I told him.

Umami nodded, then followed my steps to the right.

A few meters later, we arrived at a clearing.

Around the field, there are many food vendors who only hang out from the afternoon until midnight.

I was too enthusiastic about crossing the road while looking at the chicken noodle cart that I didn't realize there was a motorbike that was passing fast. I almost got hit if Umami didn't pull me close to her.

We accidentally hugged each other, my heart was beating wildly. I immediately pushed Umami's body away from me.

"Sorry," he said.

I just nodded, embarrassment still taking over my mind.

After that night, Umami contacted me more and more intensely. I never turned down the call again.

I don't know what happened to me, now I'm the one who feels lost if Umami doesn't call me for a day.

As I feel right now, it's been a week he hasn't contacted me. Feelings of longing, anger and loss often hit my heart.

Am I starting to fall in love with him again? I also started to feel this feeling for Mas Azzam before, before my parents came to visit my house.

Suddenly my cell phone rings, maybe it's from Umami. Excitedly, I took my phone out of my bag. I sighed in disappointment as I read the name of the caller. Turns out he wasn't the one who called me. I lazily answered the phone call.

"Assalamualaikum, Sis Winda. What's wrong, huh?" I asked unenthusiastically.

Sis Winda who called me also felt my tone. He asks am I sick, why is my voice sounding weak.

"No, Sis. I'm hungry," I answered casually.
