Chapter 14
However, Sis Winda forced her to promise not to do anything with me as long as we lived together. I, really, just agree with that condition. For me that is better, so Mas Azzam will not ask for his rights as a husband while sleeping at my house. "Clara, your parents are here!" The sound of car horns and also sis Winda's voice woke me from my daydream. It was true, my parents had come. Mas Azzam borrowed his office car to pick them up. I greeted my parents and ... another surprise awaited me. Mas Azzam's parents also came. I immediately greeted them both.
"Clara, you're just getting more beautiful, honey. I miss you," my mother-in-law called out. She put his arm around my shoulder as we walked into the house. I glanced at Sis Winda with a bad feeling. She must have felt more jealous to see the intimacy shown by my mother-in-law. Sis Winda's face was already red, it seemed that she was holding back the anger in her heart. I can only grin, who told me not to listen to Mas Azzam's words.
This morning, before going to the airport, Mas AzAm had ordered her to stay at home. My parents would be surprised to see her here later. However, she persisted and wouldn't budge.
"Anyway, I want to welcome you. Can you give me an excuse that I'm Clara's best friend while she's here!" She snapped not wanting to give up.
I was forced to agree to it, but I also invited Sister Neti to accompany me.
"Who's this, Clara?" my mother-in-law asked. We had arrived at the terrace of the house, Mama and Mama-in-law were surprised to see the presence of Sis Winda on the terrace of my house.
"Oh, it's Sis Winda. My friend while here, Ma. This one is Sis Neti," I said introducing the two of them.
Sis Winda and Kak Neti greeted my parents and Mas Azzam in turn.
"Oh, thank goodness. You've got a good friend here, Clara. That's great, so if anything goes wrong, someone will help," my mom said with a smile.
"Then let's go in, let's go! I've cooked Mama's favorite dish," I said. I also invited my mother-in-law who still keeps an eye on Sis Winda.
"Wait a minute! I think I've seen your face!" She exclaimed, pointing to Sis Winda.
Me, Mas Azzam, Ms. Neti, and of course Ms. Winda were shocked to hear my mother-in-law's words. She said she had seen Winda's face, but where? Has Mas Azzam ever sent a photo of Sis Winda before? It could be like that.
"What are you talking about, Mama? Maybe Mama saw it wrong," said Mas Azzam. He chased away Kak Winda with a look in his eyes. Instead of going, Sis Winda even approached my in-laws. She smiled then hugged my mother-in-law tightly. Of course his behavior made my mother-in-law surprised. Brother Winda let go of his arms and went to his house. Mas Azzam seems to be holding his breath while looking at me.
"Mama can't be wrong. I've seen her face before, but where, huh? Uh, why do I forget so easily now," complained my mother-in-law.
"Never mind, Ma'am! I will remember it later. Now let's go in first, didn't you say you were hungry?" interrupted my mother.
Mother-in-law nodded, but her eyes still looked at Winda's sister who had arrived in front of her house. Sister Neti also said goodbye, she came home after whispering to me.
"You survived this time, Dek. Be careful with that Winda!" She whispered before leaving.
My heart was a little scared too hearing Kak Neti's warning earlier. Sis Winda can't really predict her behavior. However, the important thing is that now he is home and his mother-in-law does not ask again about sis Winda. Smiling with relief, I invited my two moms in. Likewise with my two papas, they followed behind without commenting.
My normally quiet house was suddenly bustling with chatter and laughter from my parents and in-laws. My mother-in-law compliments my cooking. After eating, she accompanied my mother around to see the state of my house. Again she treats me as a smart wife and can take care of the house.
"Your house is clean and tidy, Ra. It's not in vain Mama sent you money. You're good at choosing what to buy," she praised, making my ears feel even wider.
I can't imagine if my mother-in-law saw the state of Winda's house--her secret daughter-in-law--in front of my house. You can be sure he will nag all day long at that dirty and lazy brother Winda.
"Of course Clara is diligent and agile, Ma'am. I have taught her and Cleo since childhood so that they can become women who are good at taking care of the household and husband," my mother proudly told me.
It is true, since childhood, apart from studying at school, Mama always taught us how to cook, clean the house and various other household tasks.
"Yes, I know that. That is why I am desperate to match Azzam with Clara," said my mother-in-law while glancing at me with a smile.
"How is Clara, Azzam? Have we been able to receive good news from you?" This time it was my father-in-law who asked me and Mas Azzam.
"Good news? Our news, right, Pa?" I asked surprised. They even laughed out loud while shaking their heads at my question. While Mas Azzam just smiled faintly, he looked at me meaningfully.
"What do you mean, sir?" I asked again because they didn't answer.
"Tell her, Zam!" tell father-in-law.
"They want to hear that you are pregnant, Ra," Mas Azzam whispered in my ear. Mas Azzam's breath in my ear made the hairs on my neck stand up.
Moreover, the word pregnant that Mas Azzam said earlier made my heart more restless. Pregnant? I mean they expect children from me. That means Mas Azzam and I have to ... hiii!
