Chapter 2 - A NEW INNER

CHAPTER 2

"That's for us to ask her when we rescue her". Chris said.

"When do we leave" Miles popped in.

"No, not you please" Adrian muttered.

"Chillax, bro, who else is as hyperactive as Miles if not worse," Aidan said patting him on the shoulder.

"Urgh, Myles!"

As if on cue, Myles rushed into the room, sweats visible on his forehead and his pants lose.

"Damn bro, you reek of sex, "Miles said popping his gum

"Yeah, I was kind of doing a fifth round with Sally."

"Excuse guys, have you forgotten we have an Inner situation on our hand? Less gossiping, more gearing up." Tracy scolded.

"Chris, Myles, Miles you're going with Adrian, get Tina, Liam, and Sally on your way out," Aidan said.

"Sweet," Myles and Miles chorused as they high-five each other.

"What's the plan?" Chris asked.

"Simple, poof in- get her- poof out"

Adrian said.

"It might not be so simple as that, guess who just walked in the building," Tracy said increasing the volume of the dispatch walkie talkie.

...... requesting for backup.

"This is Cyril, backup is on its way as requested, will be there in 20 minutes, over and out." The reply rang clearly in the room.

Adrian tightened his hands as he tried to calm himself down.

"Bro, no matter what, do not go after Cyril, just get the new Inner and leave ok," Aidan said.

"Get ready, gang, we'll leave in 5."

Adrian said walking out of the room.

"Last year's old news"

"I'm breaking out my six string and playing from my heart"

"It's not Deja Vu"

"It's another summer"

"That's how the chapter starts...."

The music went on smoothly, serving her a load of entertainment until the tap interrupted everything.

"Excuse me miss, an old man tapped his seat partner who removed her headphone.

"Yes, what's the problem?"

"We are getting ready for descending, the air hostess had asked that all seatbelts should be put on."

"Oh thanks, guess I was lost in the music Alyssa chuckled.

Suddenly the man grabbed her hand startling her saying....

"Y...my child, you are lost, not only in music but in yourself too. The choices you make today will either destroy you or save you. This is the year where all your troubles begin."

"Let go of me, sir, what are you saying," Alyssa said as she struggled to free herself.

"Two as one and one as two, one is disowned, other in denial, one is dead and so the other will be," the old man croaked putting something in her hands.

"LET ME GO" Alyssa screamed.

The hostess tapped her and she blinked and gasped heavily.

"Is anything wrong, miss? You started screaming."

Alyssa looked around but couldn't find the old man.

"Uhhh, where's the old man who was sitting here?"

"Old man? Your grandpa?"

"No, he's not my grandpa. Just my seatmate. Where is he?"

"My dear, you must be dreaming. You had no seat partner throughout the flight. You were alone."

"WHAT?! What are you saying? He woke me up just now."

"No dear, I did, we have landed dear. Get your kinds of stuff ready", the hostess said as she left to help other passengers come down.

Alyssa opened her hands to see a pendant of two different colors, the orange side was labeled light and the blue side was labeled electricity.

Squeezing the pendant tightly, she got down with the rest of the passengers into the terminal where she saw her mom waiting for her. Her mum was dressed in a black gown, which she adorned with a pretty nice watch, on her wrist and her bag was of the same color. She stood at the rear watching the passengers as they came down orderly.

She first spotted her daughter carrying her bag and she smiled. The smile of a proud mother, a satisfied one. She moved closer to the front line so that Alyssa could spot her on time. Alyssa saw her and smiled too, as she hurried to get past the customs check.

"MUM!" She called out waving to get her attention.

"Alyssa, my dear. How are you? I can't believe you are back. How's your Aunt."

"She's doing great actually, I wish school didn't have to resume," Alyssa said dramatically.

"Let's get going. I made one of my favorite dishes for you." Her mum said in a sing-songy way as Alyssa rolled her eyes, not disgusted but tired of the way her mum kept behaving as if she was still ten-year-old with a bad sickness.

"Come on, mum, you know that your cooking is terrible."

"Well, Cyril tends to enjoy my homemade dishes." Her mum said gasping trying to put up a feeble protest. There was no way in hell she was going to let my daughter win this fight, not a chance.

"Cyril is an asshole fiancé who's trying to get on your good side," Alyssa said stating the obvious fact, on the ground, as they reached her mum's car and the mum opened the boot.

"Do not use such words with such a dashing young man." She said in a mandatory tone, as she lifted the boot higher as Alyssa carried the bag up, from the ground.

"And you have regrettably fallen for his charm," Alyssa said putting her bag in the boot.

"If I was 20 years younger, I'd do him." Her mum said giving her the flirtatious wink.

"Eww, mum now that's a picture I'm not sure will ever leave me," Alyssa said, fake gagging as they entered the car and her mum drove off.
