Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Lucky Kill

The wolf and the goat continued their clash even after 5 minutes had passed. Even when the two seemed close to finishing the other they would always retreat when they sensed that they would get injured in return.

Jamie wasn't able to see them move, but was able to guess where they were based on the marks and foot prints of their fierce battle.

The goat suddenly screamed and it's horns began to glow and enlarge.

"Muh!" The goat was annoyed that it had been unable to get rid of the wolf, it was going to utilize it's finisher move.

"Beehh!!" It stomped on the ground and seemingly teleported in front of the wolf.

*Whoosh!*

The wolfs eyes widened before it raised it's claws in an attempt to the defend itself.

*BANG!!*

The wolf spat blood before it was flung backwards. The goat quickly chased after it, not letting it out of its sight.

Jamie was finally able to see them after wolf crashed into the ground. He was shocked to see the wolf so injured. The goat appeared high in the air before it pointed it's hooves downward and descended toward the wolf.

*BANG!*

The scary looking goat crashed into the wolf, it's eyes rolling backwards. The goat stood up and snorted. It kicked the dirt and grass behind it, burying the wolf.

'So damn disrespectful!!' Jamie thought as the goat shook it's body. It didn't seem to have gotten injured and only dirt and dust covered it's fur. The goat notice Jamie's gaze, it raised it's head arrogantly and bellowed

The goat seemed to be taunting him as Jamie remembered that Zack had challenged it.

Jamie felt uncomfortable as he felt the goats blatant disdain. Jamie ignored it before he curiously looked at the wolf. He wanted to know what made this wolf so special.

As Jamie walked toward the defeated wolf, he thought 'The wolf was able to enlarge itself and even strengthen it's claws. Jamie remembered the suffocating pressure the wolf released. The wolf, no, this world isn't earth, I'm most likely on another planet.

Once he stood over the wolf, he began to observe it. He wanted to see what made this wolf different from the ones in his old world.

"Gray fur, yellow fangs, and black claws. The neon blue color that it's claws had, reverted back to black. Thick fur and nasty breath, wait a sec..." As Jamie was observing it's physical appearance he noticed that it's chest was still rising and lowering, the wolf was still breathing but very haggardly!

"Ah!" Jamie tripped. His worn out shorts gathering more dirt as he scurried away from the wolf.

"H-Hey!!" Jamie turned to the goat, but saw that it was following the herd of sheep.

Crestfallen, he looked toward the wolf, seeing that it had already woken up. It's eyes glaring deep into Jamie's.

"SHIT!!"

Jamie started to run, even though the wolf was knocked down by the goat that didn't mean that it wouldn't be able to move and kill him.

After running for a good while, he looked back at the wolf. He saw that it stood up, it was swaying but was steadily regaining it's balance. The wolf gave off a bloodthirsty aura as its eyes pierced through Jamie.

Jamie's back became soaked as he felt the wolfs bloodthirst. 'Shit, shit, SHIT!! Am I going to die not even 2 days after reincarnating?!'

*Step!*

*Step!*

The wolf began to walk forward. It saw that the fearsome goat had went back to the sheep, it had no choice but to give up on them. Instead targeting the much thinner but easier to kill food item.

*GRRAA!!*

The wolf growled before picking up the pace. The ground trembled with every stomp of its mighty paws.

Still, it could obviously be seen that the wolf had been weakened or else the wolf would've already caught up to Jamie. Jamie began to hyperventilate as the sound of roots and grass crunching grew closer.

Jamie looked around, searching for something he could use to get away or even immobilize the monster.

'THAT!' Jamie saw a broken offed fence post. He ran and made a grabbing motion. He turned to face the wolf and had the sharp part of the fence pointing forward.

The wolf stopped upon seeing the weapon in the boy's hand. He looked warily at the boy, but upon seeing how his hands trembled, it grew confidence.

The wolf looked down on Jamie as it stepped forward.

"S-Stop!! Get back!!" Jamie screamed as he waved the post.

The wolf revealed a disdainful smile as it pounced forward.

Jamie winced, but hurriedly opened them before swinging down with everything he had.

*BANG!*

"HRR...!!" The wolf cried in pain as Jamie had hit him in the eye.

Jamie gathered all of his courage and started to hit the wolf on the head repeatedly. The wolf wanted to fight back, but it's injuries were restraining it. Jamie roared as he aimed the post and stabbed through the wolfs eye. Hitting it's skull and killing it instantly.

The poor thing was unable to even think of running away.

Jamie gasped as he took deep breaths. He had killed the monster. He sighed in relief while a smile formed without him knowing.

"Jamie!!" He heard someone call him from behind. He was only a few feet away from the village when he fought the wolf.

A dark skinned man with a muscular build soon reached him. He immediately hugged Jamie once he saw that he was fine.

"Hrgh!" Jamie felt his lungs squish as the gorilla hugged him. He saw other adults run toward them soon after.

"Jamie, tell me what happened?!" The man immediately started to question him after letting him go.

"Uh..." Jamie was intimidated by the big man's stare. But before he could answer.

"Is this the Blue Claw Wolf?!" One of the men gasped.

Everyone started to examine the dead wolf in front of them.

"It is!!"

"How is that possible?! Why is it so close to the village?!"

Everyone started to question each other, they were shocked that such a beast would dare trespass into human territory.

The man that hugged Jamie looked at the wolf weirdly before looking back at Jamie. He saw that there were some traces of blood on Jamie and was worried that Jamie got hurt but was relieved when he saw that the blood wasn't his.

'Could it be...'

"Jamie, did you kill this wolf?" The man directly asked.

The men who were discussing turned silent upon hearing his question.

"...I, I was lucky." Jamie timidly said

The men were able to control themselves from exclaiming but astonishment was still visible on their faces. They looked at each other and saw the shock on each of their faces.

The man who hugged Jaimie was also shocked before he began to smile widely.

"Hahaha!! Good, good! As expected of my son!!" The man who is Jaimie's father ruffled his hair as he laughed without care.

"What? Reg, you don't actually believe him do you?" One of the men asked skeptically.

The wolf was infamous in their village and they had been trying to kill it for a few months now, but the beast had always escaped whenever they were close to killing it. Yet, not only is the wolf dead, it's being said that he was killed by a child?!

The man, Reg, glared at the man who questioned his son and said. "Well who else could've killed the wolf, I don't remember seeing anyone else here!!"

The man stepped back after hearing Reg's booming voice. But, he inwardly agreed as he and everyone here didn't see anyone other than Jamie.

"The wolf was already hurt when it attacked me, I only hit it a few times to kill it." Jamie explained when he saw the men's confusion.

The men heard Jamie and examined the wolf more thoroughly.

"That makes sense."

"Phew, I would've felt a blow to my self esteem if it turned out the kid killed the wolf when it was healthy."

"So what if it was hurt? The kid stilled killed the beast that was giving us trouble for months!"

"Hagh, if only Joseph were as brave as Reg's son."

The men spoke for a bit before going back to the village. As Jamie walked into the village with the men, he saw Mia and the others running to him while calling his name.
